Sent from the moon using wifi...
The devs did it for Nexus One http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6744172 .
Maybe it is also possible for the Nexus S and someone is reading this who is able to manage it
So only mod I found was to change the skin to black anyone can make it work 720p HD
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
I changed my wildfire camera file before. And by changing the file and number, you can get higher resolution, maybe 720p.
you guys can try to take desire hd or other android devices camera profile (via root explorer) and put it into nexus s (via root explorer).
Edit: under system/etc/media profile. Try to take from desire hd Rom and replace it in nexus s

Which rom u recommend
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
I'm still in wildfire... will get nexus s by this week... I don't know much about nexus s.
Any android version will work. Try a 5mp camera with 720p. Take desire s. It has 5mp. You can make a zip and flash via recovery.it is safer to do so.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
Ok but 1 question for do I get the camera flies do I download a Tom n extract it n make a zip or just use root explorer
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
Get from Rom. Just head to desire s development. Grab a Rom. And take out the mediaprofile.xml. you may replace via root explorer or make a zip to flash via recovery.
Make sure you make a backup. Remember to reboot after replace file.
Normally I will Make a zip, as it is easier for me. Replace system will system is running may cause error for wildfire.
Good luck on trying.

Ok downloading now ill get back to u
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
Hope it work and we will have 720p.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
Desire s camera mod only give me
480p
edit: desire hd camera files wont let my nexus s boot after putting it by root explorer
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
Try make a zip And flash desire s file. Copy and paste may not work... give it another try.
Edit: brb two hours later.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
I don't know how to make a zip all I get is aborts
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
Change the .xml to .txt And attach it here. I make it into zip.
Edit: I missed a step. Please take a picture of something and check the picture file size. After you changed it, take a picture again. If the picture file size is around the same, then there is problem on copy and paste.

The original question still remains. What did you do to the phone? Did you root it? Flash a new ROM? Did nothing and it is just going crazy?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
If you flashed a custom ROM, I would do 2 things.
First, check if the poster of the ROM has the md5 check sum posted. If so, check it with your download to make sure it is complete and not corrupt.
Second, try installing it again without wiping or clearing anything. Just re-flash it over what you have now.
Also, if you are flashing a custom ROM and other mods, flash the ROM first and let it completely boot and go through the set up before installing any of the mods.

When I go into recovery it still shuts off and restarts I put the leaked ROM and radio on in hboot. Its still doing it

I put cm7 on it and it was fine. I put the google apps on. And that when it started. I used that file before and it worked fine.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Restored stock. Thanks for trying.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
If you try again make sure you clear out your caches before you flash CM7 and then when you get in make a backup. then after that flash the Google apps using rom manager. it should be listed in your apps after a fresh CM7 install. plus then if that screws up again restore the backup you had just made and try again
I got s on IM returning it. its still boot looping. I did use clockwork. I should have done it manually. Like always.... New tbolt tomorrow. Root and try again.

Hi,
I'm totally new to this and I just got the Sensation 4G, how do I go about installing this? Thanks.
Go to the link above and download the .apk file. With a file explorer, go to the file and click it. It will give you two options. Choose the one to open in market or as app. Then just click install and it should be done.
Btw, works like a charm. Thanks!
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
when i try to install it, it tells me its a system file and asks if i want to replace it or cancel. when i hit ok then install it says application not installed.
I dont see the option to open in the market. I dont use es file explorer usually astro. any recomendations?
That's odd. You can use Astros. After you click on the file, choose open app manager. There should be an install button on the top left. Once clicked, it should just install. Sorry, I didn't get the system file message.

I was having the same problem. I just downloaded the apk on my computer, put it on my sd card, and installed it through Astro File Manager. That should work.
If you can't install it try the version I have attached. Instalation is done via Root Explorer - copy the apk from sdcard, go to /system/app. delete HTCCamera.apk and HTCCamera.odex, paste new camera apk, set permissions to rw- r-- r-- and try to install.
Camera works, but shutter button is misaligned, selecting HDR or burst in scene menu causes FC, HDR and macro is doing nothing (I think). Panorama works.
Downloaded the apk for non-rooted devices and installed using root explorer and works just great. Thanks for the share!
Thanks for the share!!! Wors great on my end
Works perfectly for me too! Thanks.
Installed it..... but this gets installed as a seperate software, and it doesnot replaces the stock camera app or it doesnt show in the scenes mode in the stock camera app.
Is this happening only with me????

I think it lets you take a bunch of pictures and puts them all together to be one really big picture.
I recently flashed my Inspire 4G with cm7. Then I put gapps on my device. After I did that the camera and video camera app dissapeared. If I got to my gallery and attempt to get to the camera from there I get the error, "The application Gallery (process.com.cooliris.media) has stopped unexpectedly.
Anyone know a solution for this?
Maybe download a camera app from the market? Just spitballing here.

Sounds like you need to wipe and try again, and if that doesn't work then re download it, which is what you should have done before posting

Do a full wipe and reinstall

Or you could simply use a root explorer and extract the camera app

Thanks buddy! I'm guessing this apk enables rooted devices to create mobile hotspots without paying tmobile..
It's the stock app, but with a custom APN you can tether with or without root.
Add a custom Access Point Name, name it whatever you want and set the apn to epc.tmobile.com, save it and set it as default. Tether away.

Is because it's a system app. Push it to system/app and fix permissions, then reboot.
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA Premium
I got it in system/app, changed permissions rebooted and no go, or do you mean fix permissions in ROM manager ?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
It shouldn't matter how you fix them, as long as they stick through the reboot.
You can try going into system/app and installing it from there by clicking on the app. Might not work, though... Might be something else you need. Maybe an odex file, but I don't have root, so I can't pull mine.

OP/Pics link here -- http://phandroid.com/2013/06/27/and...leaked-new-camera-app-available-for-download/
If you needed any further proof that Android 4.3 was, in fact, real and headed to Android devices in the very near future, look no further than the leaked screenshots nabbed by SamMobile. What you’re looking at is test build of Android 4.3 (JWR66N) for the Galaxy S4 Google Play edition, running on a regular ‘ol Galaxy S4.
While we don’t know specifics involving the exact changes from 4.2.2. to 4.3, it’s said we could finally see Bluetooth improvements, as well as that new fangled camera application currently found on the Google Play edition HTC One and GS4 running 4.2.2. When it comes to the camera, that can already be downloaded/sideloaded onto your device like any other app. Works without a hitch on most devices.
Download here-- http://www.mediafire.com/download/8tu1o85d21a61i7/camera.google.play.edition.apk
Instructions to install:
1. Download the camera.apk
2. Use a file explorer using root(example root explorer)
3. Copy and paste or move this apk in ur system/app
4. Reboot
5. Walla!
