Motorola Droid 3 Coming On July 7?
engadget said:
The Motorola Droid 3 already appeared in Best Buy's computer system back at the beginning of May but so far we don't know anything exact regarding its release date, though it shouldn't be far off.
According to Droid-life sources, the Motorola Droid 3 is being targetted by Verizon for a July 7 announcement date. While this still belongs in the Rumor category though, popular smartphone game producer Gameloft has added the phone as the "Motorola XT862 Droid 3" to their list of compatible devices. The codename fits as the Droid 3 surfaced with the same numbering on NenaMark's website a month ago.

Nice, but can i haz unlocked bootloaders?
Global radio connectivity (as in a worldphone) would be sweet too.

Half of me hopes it is, half of me hopes its not...I just got the X2 yesterday and my next upgrade isn't until August D:

Locked down + pentile display = no thx

Great.
I hope they include a Tegra 2

Is it 4g LTE?

Unlocked bootloader?
Still rocking the Incredible with the XDA Premium App.

TI OMAP4 4430 and now that TI's OMAP4's support Netflix HD the Droid 3 has a bit more game in it. Yeah I know no 4G, NOT everyone lives in a 4G Market so why would they buy a 4G phone and have the batter life suck while the phone searches for a 4G signal.

HTC Scorpion to pack 1.5GHz Snapdragon? / Get Android 2.2 Froyo on the iphone

HTC cranks out Android handsets like candy corn – and we love that. The only downside to this, however, is that each new leak has us drooling before the last leak even has time to become a real product.
Our salivary glands were just warming up for the HTC Incredible and the HTC Legend, but now we’ve got the HTC Scorpion (possibly codenamed “Olympian”) to dream about. According to the very-latest of leaks, this thing might pack a scorchingly fast 1.5 Ghz processor and the as-of-yet unreleased Android v2.2.
The emphasis in that last sentence, though, should be placed on “might”. We’re by no means 100% convinced this thing exists. Someone hooked the guys over at AndroidSpin up with what is reportedly a build file from this “Scorpion” device. The catch here, is that this leak is purely text – no images, no video, and thus, nothing tough to fake.

This is good news!!!
Get Android 2.2 Froyo on the iPhone 3G
Yes, you heard right!
Don’t know what to do with your soon to be retired iPhone 3G? Just install Android 2.2 aka Froyo on it. Sure it’s currently totally useless and sluggish (and according to those who tried it; causes the device to run extremely hot after a few minutes, but here are the installation instructions

Droid X 4G?

I was browsing the Google books list for Android relates books and came across a book called Android for Work. The cover caught my eye. It says "Droid X 4G Made Simple". I'm sorry if this phone was already announced, but I haven't heard anything about the Droid X 4G before this book, so I figured some of you may be interested.

Bump. Is this old news?
I know Gingerbread is on everyone's mind and all, but I can't believe no one cares about this. I'm pretty sure this is news, because I searched Google, and the only mentions of "Droid X" and "4G" are comparisons of the Droid X to the Evo and someone asking a forum if the Droid X would support 4G. If I'm mistaken and this is old, I apologize, but I can't find any references to a "Droid X 4G" anywhere else.
Im curious about this now... Id switch to a droid x if it had 4g
Last bump. If no one else cares, I'm done with this. But don't act all surprised if it's real. I really thought more people would be interested in this.
Just from the blurb in the screenshot, it seems much more likely that that book was put together by a marketing hack unfamiliar with technology than it is that someone has figured out how to hack a 4G radio into the Droid X.
I was assuming that the Droid X 4G would be a new phone entirely.
I figured someone associated the wrong cover image for the book. The description doesn't seem to match the title.
My thought was that having the cover ready meant a book for developing for that phone might be published eventually, and why would they bother writing and publishing such a book if the phone wasn't already planned for production?

upgrading for the next year, but don't know what to choose, can anybody help me??
Droid 2 for lack of TouchWiz.

The Galaxy S phones are nice if you plan on using custom roms so you don't have to worry about updates.
Why are you leaning to those two phones?
Sent from my shoe, I mean....Epic shoe... I mean Samsung Epic! http://mobilehighway.blogspot.com/
Galaxy S, for not having that motorola crap on it. My dad has had a couple of droids, first Droid had a camera issue with like 3 or 4 of them, Droid 2 just has random issues and he's already had to trade it out.
Galaxy S...because the Droid 2 bootloader is locked.

I am trying to sum the content of link up, but i CAN´T speak or read chinese so its translated by google:
Price: it says something about 2600TWD. But that just can´t be the price for the phone. That would be around 62EUR.
Cpu: 1,2Ghz or 1,5Ghz.. i am not sure if that should be dualcore or not.
Screen: Resolution of 480*854, but no word on size.
The picture in the Link:

I don´t know if any of these information are correct. Don´t blame me for any wrong info.

update: i just realised that the phones in the picture are the Milestone 2 and the Droid X. So the specs should be clear.
I guess a chinese carrier is rebranding them and selling them with miui.

It's dualcore and the phone in the picture is just a concept of M1.
The phone is OEM by Motorola,so why there are Milestone 2 and the Droid X.And the price is about 400USD.

AT&T Sucks

The AT&T Galaxy S3 got 4.1.1 today, even though it came out months after our One Xs. What's the hold up AT&T?
Cool story bro

Samsung is a little better with their updates. Nothing against HTC, but it seems to me that they've got some delays on their ends pushing the update to the carriers.
Granted AT&T has their issues as well

Not so much. All of my friends with Galaxy S2s had to wait forever to get ICS. I'm pretty sure the hold up here is AT&T.

Didn't we just lock two of these threads?
AT&T plays favorites with the sgs3, so I guess it makes sense that hoxl will get update after the sgs3 in addition to after the release of the hox+
Here we go again...
