So I'm wondering how you guys are holding up with the battery. Can you last all day?
If not, do you have a spare battery or anything? Thanks.

Mine lasts about 16 hours on moderate use. I have Set CPU to be around 700mhz while screen off. That seems to help and the fact that im on the optimized TPC ROM makes it all better.

Figure 20 hours till the phone starts nagging. I do a lot of texting and emails throughout the day. Phone goes off charger at 6am and is back on charger by 11:30pm. Display brightness auto adjusts a lot too since I work outside a lot.

Wait till you guys get ginger bread, they improved idle power drastically. I'm unplugged 15 hours right now and still at 71% battery on my nexus. Granted this was over night, but it was never this good before. Idle current stays around 10mA which is excellent.

My idle, on my inspire with TPC's froyo Rom, is anywhere from 1mA to 5mA with the occasional spike to 30mA.

Honestly you can ask, but in all its relative to: amount of use/what you are doing (ie:games or texting)/ROM/kernel/radio/health of the battery. Expect anywhere from 8hours-48hours depending on your usage. Though I have never played angry bird for 8hours straight....

That is very impressive. I need to try some more ROMs out there. The stock inspire here is at 24mA idle pretty regularly which isn't bad but not great.
I get about 12 hours of battery life with heavy use and 20 hours of moderate use. Usually I have the display on for three hours and sending about 100 texts a day about an hour calling with email coming in all day.

This post gives me hope. I am so sick of my iPhone 4, but have been scared the battery will suck on the Inspire. Anyone have/had an i4 and can compare with their Inspire?
IPhone 4 will definitely get better battery life than any android phone. But not too bad and totally worth it.
I pulled my phone off the charger at 8am, it's now just after 10pm and I have 46% remaining. I was browsing on wifi and playing words with friends for about two hours this afternoon, made a few calls, sent a few messages and regularly checked emails.
Battery life on my Inspire hasn't been as good as the Streak, but definitely better than my Captivate. I'm using SetCPU 1024 max/245 min ondemand for my main profile and 245 max 245 min ondemand for screen off.
The key indicator for me is screen-on time. Taking the phone of the charger at ~8am, by about 10pm, with gps off all day, and WiFi on only as needed (~1hr total), I'm at around ~15-20% battery remaining, with the total screen-on time being ~4.5 hrs for that day.
Most of that screen time is playing angry birds, so I'm sure that factors in somehow, as the screen doesn't seem to drain as much battery doing other stuff, as it does playing a processor-intensive activity like a game.

Bought the sensation XE a couple of days ago. The only think I keep about is the battery.
I have two HTC batteries and I have been using them simultaneously (taking one out put next in, other goes on charge etc)
I am going through two full charges a day and am on the third battery.
This is crazy, is it me? What am I doing wrong? Might me ICS..?
What settings are you using on your phone? (auto brightness, background data..etc...) And what is your usage rate? Are you using stock or custom ROM?

What apps do you have installed and what accounts on sync?
It usually take a while for the battery to reach it's full capacity. Give it like a week, then judge the battery.

Mind posting a picture of your batt stats? And how many hours of screen time you have. Here are some tips..
1. Use manual brightness. I usually use 10-50% only. The lower your brightness the less power you consume.
2. Disable auto sync. Disable push notifications unless really needed.
3. Disable led lights and vibrations for keyboard and soft keys.
4. Use mobile data only when you need to. If not, turn it off.
5. You can try juicedefender. Works for some, doesn't work for me.
6. Don't use live wallpapers.
7. Run a custom rom and kernel. I'm using virtuous inquisition 4.0.2 with sebastionFM 1.4.1 kernel. It's fast smooth yet easy on the battery.
8. As your battery is still new give it a few charge cycles. It should stabilise within a week or so..
9. Do download betterbatterystats and check on what's hogging your battery. Also check with cpuspy whether your phone goes into deep sleep or not.
With the methods I've mentioned I'm achieving about 20 hours standby with 5 hours of screen time. I consider myself quite a heavy user. If you do your math that's like 15minutes of use per hour.

Wifi, Mobile Data controlled by Easy Battery Saver on Intelligent Mode.

GPS- Off
Gaming-> Only 2D.

Web browsing -> Mostly Wifi only because I have Wifi wherever I go.

My iPhone 4 used to last me 3-4 days. The screen on time for that was 7-8 hours. Yeah so the battery life is really appalling. Buying iPhone 5 (6) when it comes.

With official ICS, I am now getting around 5:30 screen time. That's good enough. I think if I buy EVO 3D battery for my Sensation I will get 7-8 hours like my iPhone so I'm going to do that.
You can try easy battery saver, it's work with my phone and is very efficient.
*New* How much does your battery drain per hour. I can't remember what it was with the Note but I think it was 1% an hour. I'm at 90% currently after 5 hours so that's more than 1%. *New*
*Old* Man I have the absolute worst luck in the world. I had a phone with great battery life but had to return it because of light bleed. Now this phone is down to 92% after only 20 mins off the charger with 19 mins of use. I'm literally watching the battery decrease. That seems unacceptable to me. I never noticed it draining that fast on my previous one. But everything else on this phone is prefect. I can't win.
After 5 hours it is down to 59% with 44 mins screen on time.
I'm pretty sure I'd still be around 80% on the phone I had to return. I can post pics of that phone's battery life also if you want. *Old*

This, definitely.
I definitely think there are some serious calibration issues on my phone as well...
TWRP recovery always shows 10-15% more battery than I see in the ROM ...also, when I reboot the phone the battery% comes down by around 5-10% and when I connect it to a USB cable to transfer some files , the battery% goes up by 5-10% in 2 mins ...
but the good part is , my phone still shuts down when the battery % reaches "0" ... so I am good with it
Hmm. Interesting. In all the smartphones I've hard previously (Sanyo zio, HTC EVO 3G, HTC Inspire 4G, HTC ONE X), the battery drains quickly. I'm a field technician so I drive a lot. I've found that usually the battery will die near the end of the day if I don't keep it on a charger at some point in the day. Normally when I'm driving, its plugged into the car charger. And really I don't think I do a whole lot with it. Well actually, I do everything with it. But I'm not gaming or anything like that. Mostly bluetooth calling, browsing the web, sending emails, taking photos, etc.
I do agree, don't make a judgement call when its 92% battery.
I was getting 1 day and 5 hours with 3 hours screen on time consistently with the previous phone. The best I've gotten with this one is 20 hours and an hour and 45 mins screen on time. Maybe I just need to put this through its paces longer. Who knows.

2 hours and only 14 mins of screen on time and down to 90%. WTF is wrong that they can't make every phone relatively the same?! I feel like I only paid 5 bucks for this phone. I have the Verizon model of the S3 as well. I have had it for over a week now because I was an early pre-order so I got it really early. For the first few days I was getting really bad battery life. I would maybe only get 8 - 9 hours with moderate usage, that being about 2 hours of screen time. I would play no games, and just browse the web and text. I am a big texter though, but on my DINC as long as I had mobile data switched off I could get plenty of life out of my phone. With this phone for some reason after about 70 percent, mine will start to drain much faster regardless of what I am using it for, even if the screen is is off. Just to test it I left all the radios on while the phone was at 100 percent over night, and the next morning it was at 96. The next day I tried the same test when my phone was at 50 percent battery, and when I woke up it was at 10 . I don't really understand what is going on here either. I keep seeing all of the reviews for the device even the Verizon version to point towards great battery life, but I am just not seeing it. Maybe rooting and a re-flashing the stock rom plus removing bloatware will help. I also got another battery just to see if that was the problem, but it doesn't seem to be. I'm hoping this is just a software issue, because I don't know why some can get such great battery and some can't. I would also hate to have to get a replacement phone.
im getting around 10 hours with Heavy use ... 6 hours of pandora, youtube, email, facebook, twitter, web

Have you tried just basic stock kernal and ROM? Also set the brightness to auto so it saves you battery life if you're going to be using it for texting a lot and YouTube. Another thing would be let the phone die it all the way to 0% and then fully charge it til it's 100% or until it says Charged. If you keep charging it form 25% for example and then take it out at 78% and start using it again, the battery life will slowly decrease. It ruins the battery that way.
Regards,
Bomboholic
