Files needed for making a battery MOD - HTC Desire S

Hey guys, I was trying to create a circle-battery mod for the DS (like the A section here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=724778)
Now, I'm not rooted, so i need these files form LBC Mod 0.4.6 to make it compatible with that ROM -
framework-res.apk
SystemUI.apk
com.htcresources.apk
Please upload these and send me the links, so i can make an awesome battery mod. Thnx!!

If you have downloaded the Rom, extract them using any suitable program. I used winzip. Worked fine.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App

Well, this sucks. I got the files but uploading is taking waaaaaaaaaaay too long. I tried thrice, but the com.htcresources.apk just wont upload. I'm not trying anymore, but if anyone else wants to, check this out -

first of all, i thank u for showing interest in my query. u gotta be rooted to copy the file.....
here is the procedure....root ur chacha, use a file maneger (i recommend root explorer), go to system folder and then to the app folder. search for the camera apk and copy it to your SD card
easy enough.
even if u port it from the stock rom , the app it wont install in custom rom , i tried it . i tried editing cm7 rom and adding htc camera , with fb chat , and live walpaper .it didnt install properly
I think in aptoide there's a camera app, totally clean, in case you can' get the original one. Cheers!

Water (falling leaves) Live Wallpaper [root users]

Hi,
i like Water Live Wallpaper and i found a working apk for our GNote.
I tested this on XXLB1 odexed, XXLC1 odexed and XXLC1 deodexed (CheckRom NoteHD V6) and it works.
If you want it:
Dowload this file
EDIT: new working link: LiveWallpapers.apk - 1.5 MB
Now with a file explorer with root permissions go into folder /system/app and rename your original LiveWallpapers.apk to LiveWallpapers.bak (if you have also LiveWallpapers.odex rename it to LiveWallpapers.odexbak)
Now push into this folder the file i have uploaded and change permissions to RW-R--R-- and you'll have working Water LWP in your Live Wallpapers list
Why does it need to be rooted?
Because it changes original live wallpaper set on your device. It would be great if someone could just rip this live wallpaper and make it simple to install even on non-rooted phones.
I will definitely give it a go
could you please upload to something other than fileserve.com
They will only allow downloading files I have uploaded myself! So sharing is not possible on fileserve.com!!!
Thanks
thx
any other mirror plx.
thx.
Does it lag on the phone?
The link was not worked, any other mirror please.
New Link added
Edited link in 1st post
LiveWallpapers.apk - 1.5 MB
Thanks a lot!

Thank you, working like charm,

I am a one day newbie on rooting phones, and am scared s**tless to do it.
Yet I looooove this on my htc sensation (i bought a rooted sensation with it and it just calmed me, until the root was so buggy i sold it back to the owner).
So yes! Please!!! Can you make it available for non-root.
You are a genius if so, because it seems what little i read said this is not possible.
I will come to this page often to check your genius!!!:good:
What happens.........
What happens if we install it as a normal app(By just running the .apk) ?
Instead of changing the other files would it not work to just rename this file?

I get "Failed to parse package" error. Tried download a few times. Corrupt file perhaps?

Have you considered Alive Video Wallpaper?
It really outshines the rest because it does not choke the device (every other Live wallpaper makes any device struggle). And also it does not kill the battery at all!
Gotta check it!
It has several different smooth and seamless video sequences!
Cheers!

The wallpaper is no longer working (& fall is coming!!)

[BOOTANIMATION][SGT7] Androids on Tron Bikes

Here is a cool Bootanimation -- I don't know who I should give credit to. I extracted it from Galaxy Note - TeamRocket ROM.
I just modified some loops at the end and change the pixel resolution setting to 600x1024 for our G-Tab.
If anyone knows who we should give credit to please post.
Enjoy.
Note: Thanks to Sir Otto, we have a shorter version. Go to his post for download link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26798166&postcount=14
To change your bootanimation, you will need :
1. root access and Root Explorer, or CWM.
Method 1:
Simply go to /system/media, place the attached bootanimation.zip in the folder replacing the original one.
Note: Please don't forget to back up your old bootanimation just in case you don't like what you downloaded.
Method 2:
Flash zip file on 2nd post below (TronDroidBootanimation.zip) in CWM recovery mode.
Credits:
TeamRocket (Galaxy-Note ROM) -- I extracted from this rom.
ATGAdmin and Icy (Iconia A500) -- It w also the boot animation for his ROM
Sir Otto -- For editing it to make shorter version --Please hit the thanks button on his post!
CWM Flashable / Screenshots
Update: CWM flashable zip file; only work for non-stock ROM.
download below attached file to your sdcard,
reboot to CWM recovery,
flash the zip file,
Reboot.
Here are screenshots
This is very nice. Thanks!

This looks very cool on the old tab 7
My pleasure, but again any of you guys know who we should give credit to this beautiful boot animation, please let us know.
Please share if you have or know any cool boot animation. Thanks.
your Neo-Droid boot animation is very nice, but I have to say I'm going with this one, the Tron-Biker. Sorry bro.
There was a guy in the acer a500 and asus transformer prime forums that had this boot animation on his roms. He goes by the name ATGAdmin. He had the icylicious roms for those devices. Not sure if he is still on xda due to some disagreements he had with other developers and the mods.

And what happened to him? I tracked him and he has not posted anything after 2nd of May. I can't post to any of his threads, and seems like whatever happened already deleted from the original thread.
Well there goes, at least partial credit (if it not the whole credit) goes to ATGAdmin and his Icylicious roms. Still not clear if he created the bootanimation or not but he used it about at the same time or a little earlier than TeamRocket for the Galaxy-NoteThanks for the info.
Excuse me, yappoe, but I found this boot animation quite long. Can I just remove some of the images in the zip folder in order to leave only the final part or would it cause terrible things like bricking my Galaxy Tab?
And if I manage to get it working, will you let me upload my "reduced" version here?

It's not going to get your Tab bricked, but it might make the bootanimation not functional (blank boot animation). Maybe Mr. Yappoe kind enough to release a shorter version.

Slyv3 is correct, it won't brick your Tab. At worst you will have blank animation. Yes you can post it here for the short version. Thanks.

I have noticed that the stock rom does not have a bootanimation.zip file. Advise please. thanks

Hi, in stock firmware, there won't be a bootanimation.zip. There will be "samsungbootloop.qmg".
If the original version is too big, can you try the shorter version by Sir Otto above and see if you can put it in?

[TOOL] I9300/I9305 Auto Deodex & Zipalign Tool

All the work to make the Deodexed.zip of your rom is done to your Windows PC.
Open the Deodexer-Tool.zip you have just download.
Extract the Deodexer-Tool folder to your Desktop or anywhere you whant.
Open the folder Deodexer-Tool you just extract and follow option 1 or 2.
You have two option's:
1.) Connect your phone to pc and run the Deodexer_from_phone.bat whait ....... and you will see a Deodexed.zip and zipaligned ready to flash zip.
-----------------------------------
2.) If you have allready dumped odexed rom and you whant to deodex just put all the .apk's and .odex files from your dumped rom system\app to \Deodexer-Tool\Work\app and all the .jar's and the two framework apk's from your dumped rom system\framework to Deodexer-Tool\Work\framework and run the Deodexer_dumped_rom.bat whait ....... and you will see a Deodexed.zip and zipaligned ready to flash zip.
(If you whant an app like SuperSU.apk to be in your rom then add that to Work\app folder before run the Deodexer_dumped_rom.bat).
-----------------------------------

At the option 1 the script will dump and deodex every app you have at that time in your system/app phone folder.
Doesn't matter if is allready deodexed, the script just ignore deodexed .apk's but it will add to the zip at the end.
The option 2 is same but the script doesn't dump anything from your phone. It is only look what you add at the specificate folder's: Deodexer-Tool\Work\app & framework.
Try it and waiting for your news.

Is there a possibility that we can get something to to the zip-align and deodex without having to move files to and from your mobile and windows. Only cause it seems alittle messy for the everyday user loool I mean i would probably be able to do it but i just dont want to miss anything or do something wrong.
Actually I have an Idea I am going to install the Rom you made then just restore my appz what you think that would be the easiest way right?
Thanks Alot.Need this tool very much .

The only think it will be deleted and replaced is the system/app and system/framework.
Non of your app's will be deleted.
Please before do anything make a backup of your rom with CWM so if anything goes wrong you can restore that.

Great work ausdim. I've modified your script slightly since I have tools that can extract the .tar.md5 > system.img > system.ext4.img > app/framework folder.

It's a great idea. It'll help to keep the OP leaner. You could also come up w/ a small FAQ that's posted on the OP to help cut down on answering repetitive questions. And if someone does ask a question that's already covered, just point them to the FAQ.
May also want to go into some detail about how to run this on the OP. Not everyone is a developer. You'd be amazed at how many people are mail room clerks, secretaries, managers, work in construction or food service. So, their knowledge is not at all on the same level. They just want to personalize their phone or tablet and be on their way w/o having to get a degree from ITT Tech to do it
Thank you for letting me post. I'm sure I'll have a question or 2 more in the near future. Thank you again.

[SOLVED] Why does APK not work after modification ?

Hi
MIUI V4 has an issue of silent whatsapp notification.
a solution was found and described in here :
What you need to do is decompile the APK.
Look in \res\xml\preferences.xml
Search for android:ringtoneType="all"
Replace with android:ringtoneType="notification"
Click to collapse
The problem is when I decompile, change and recompile whatsapp apk (and sign it), it becomes smalller (dropping from 7MB to 5.4). even trying to swap resources.arsc of the files with 7zip, does the same.
I even tried manipulating XDA whatsapp plus, but the result is the same - when trying to install the new "small" apk I get an error "application not installed" and that's it (no other version exists in the device).
How do I deal from here ?
Whatsapp won't fix this as it is custom ROM related and I think it is fixed on MIUI JB...
Thanks.
This is the latest official whatsapp apk from the Google Play :
Hi itzik2sh
I think i have whatsapp notification working normally (icon, sound and vibration) on MiUI (my cMiUI fyi), so, kinda weird that not working for u...
Anw, bout the size, i think it is normal cause, I used this trim size trick to minimize the size of my roms tho ^^…so, once it is installed and work properly, u shouldnt worry bout the size

But it's not working, and cmiui is a different ROM.

Check if signatures are there in the apk(compiled one). The changes in size are normal. It happens due to compression ratios.
Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA
Can i port the original signature? How do I do that?
sent from me
I hope not! That is the point of signing the APK. Only the person with the private part of the key can sign, allowing users to confirm that the package, as they have it, came from the signer.
Posted from my SGS4G, thanks to Team Acid development
Hi Jeff
I know it's the vision and purpose of signing, but there are too many apks
I'm lately unable to recompile and get them working.
Erik - I was also never able to translate MIUI camera.apk,
as adding some resources made apk not run anymore. even swaping resources.arsc doesn't help.
Working with latest APKTOOL jar 1.5.0 and signing !
Thanks!
