if youre constantly using wifi/data plan and using the phone, im sure thats normal. if its on standby and its been decreasing..not sure. maybe go to recovery mode and clear battery stats.

That looks to be fairly typical to what I've seen on my own phone (stock rom).
I'm on the unlimited data plan, so I'm usually always doing something.

What were u doing when it went down - browsing? on call? games? streaming music? Gotta be more specific.

stock rom here, I use Screebl (from Android Market) to control display ON time. My timeout is 15 seconds, but the app will keep the screen on depending on the angle I am holding the phone. This saved quite a bit of battery life for me. Also, I reduced the frequency of the data polling and turned off data connection at night when sleeping. Turning off wifi when it's not in range should improve longevity, too.
hope this helps!

During my afternoon commute, I don't think I could get 3 hours of "game time" on my phone. Typically after about 2 hours of "Plants vs Zombies" in the foreground and a whole-lot of Storm8 games in the background, I'm lucky to have 30% left on my battery.
Time to do some housekeeping, I'd say. That, or invest in a 15,000mah battery pack.

The screebl sounds cool. I primarily use llama to toggle stuff based upon digital conditions; if list of conditions x are yes, toggle y controls. It works good for me.

Is it always like that? I know from the roms I used my battery would drop like a rock till about 80% then level out for the day?

Battery life really depends on your configuration and what you have running. You can try following this guide to see what is draining your battery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=937080
Also, if you're rooted and running a custom ROM then your build.prop, radio and RIL can all affect battery life.

U can use Widgetsoid (free from market), and put on a layout with the number of rows and columns u want. And then u can select whatever shortcuts and app links u want.

I'm sure most people have seen my results.
That's on CyanogenMod 7.0.2 with the LorDmod 4.4.2 VrIO kernel and Pinky Ultra Undervolt script. I've used CM7.0.3 and GingerBeast with various other LorDmod kernels and gotten very similar results, typically give or take a few hours.
Battery graphs without details are pretty pointless. Not hard to get a couple days out of it if you never use the phone.

No point in using wifi, I have GPS turned off as well. Minimal screen usage is my average usage but really, if someone can't figure out that a massive screen is the biggest battery hog on this thing then they should return it.
Can't screenshot ATM, but I have 91 percent battery remaining after 2 hrs and 50 mins. I have used the phone for texting all day so far (~80 messages while on battery) and my screen is consuming 74% of my battery, though nothing else is really running in the background. SetCPU 1017/245 with smartass governor is currently keeping my undervolted when asleep. My ROM is Inspired Ace by gtg465x running the latest stock ATT radio (Ace_Cingular_US_1.84.502.11-Radio-26_06_06 _30_M). I just ran the battery calibration listed here and am still working on eliminating the cpu intense processes as described.

LOL!!! Wow that is some awesome battery life you're getting on your GingerBeast ROM.
I think what dilli is trying to tell us is these types of threads have minimal value. Everyone uses their phone differently and the battery life is impacted greatly by this. If Joe Blow gets 3 days battery life out of SuperDuper v3.0 ROM paired up with the BestBatteryEver v2.5 kernel doesn't mean I will get anywhere near the same results.

This.
If you turn off your wifi and screen, Then its just similar to keeping your PC on sleep mode.
At the end of the day, battery should last through the day if you dont have a charger within reach. Again depends on usage.

The display on my inspire is what murders my battery. I mean seriously, if it is pulling 70%+ of your total battery usage, how much life can you expect with screen on for games, videos, browsing, etc. 9 hrs and 5 mins and 76% left. I have my phone locked to 2g networks when not using data, btw. that seemed to help. screen has been on roughly 30% of this time as I lock when not in use (between texts, as I text my gf all day usually )
I bet most of the folks here didn't use a Captivate by any chance... Use it, and u'll love the battery here.

Yeah, I've been getting erratic battery behavior with mine. I don't have it rooted or anything but there will be days where the phone will be idol for 4 hours during work, and it'll be down to 60%.
I always keep the wifi off and syncing off too.
With all syncs on.WiFi on average use(20-30 mins Facebook per day, 10-20 emails, 10-20 text, a few calls, etc.)

Hey, I'm curious to learn how much juice people consider comfortable and their configurations. What do you use on the phone usually?
I use it for texting and 3h of music daily, couple of Google searches per day, a photo or two. No display dimming or any other cheating. I got two days. Normal MIUI 1.9.somehitng. Your turn?

My battery sucks when not on wifi, which is why I try not to use it when I'm out and about unless I'm really bored or need it. It only has problems because of bad reception though, which is most of the area outside a one mile radius from the freeway lol.

Really? I fond the dead areas amazing with this LG. I had a Bold 9700 before this one, and when I used the subway for 2-3 hours everyday, and in the school labs for another 2 hours, the battery would last for a day and a half with no usage at all. My LG doesn't seem affected by that at all.

Best Battery Saver App Ever!!

Ok so i have tried many battery saver apps and have come to the conclusion that most of them are a joke. Until i tried BatteryXL. With a bit of setup this app has give me over 20 hours of life with use. I am talking about web surfing, texting, gaming, calls and some picture taking. I use my phone a lot and it just would not make it half the day. I even tried an extended battery. But even that sucked. Juice defender isn't bad if you buy the pro version, but BatteryXL is free. There have been a few glitches , as it is still in beta, but they are very minor and didn't effect its usage. So if anyone is looking for an app to help with battery life try it and see how it works for you. I am no way affiliated with the creators of this app. I am just a big fan of it and i know how many evo user complain about battery life. Also if you want to know i am using Sinister rom version 7 and anthrax kernel 009. The rom and kernel you use will affect how much this app helps.
Again i have no affiliation with the make of this app so don't ask me if you have issues. Submit then to the maker.
EDIT: If you don't have an intelligent thing to say, then do the world a favor and keep your mouth shut. The air is polluted enough as it is
Guys, please do not make me close this thread. Stay on its original purpose instead of attacking each other.
Consider this a warning. There is no point on either use so much exclamations marks, replying in such way to it and then attacking back in the same way.....
I am telling you the nicest way, stay on topic.
YOU ARE WARNED!
Thank you D.O.C. I just wanted to inform others about this app because i know battery issue is a big problem for most of us Evo users. And i am sorry for the off topic spat
BatteryXL has saved my battery.. i've been under 50% for over 4 hours already and still have 39%..
thanks for sharing...
Interesting
I switched over to an ICS rom and it still is getting me around 15 hrs or so. I love this app.

Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Yea I've tried using this app but it just doesn't work like juice defender... this app doesn't auto sync 3rd party email apps or twitcaster... juice defender makes it possible to sync specific apps during a specific time frame to resync information while the screen is off.. I haven't seen this app (battery XL) do that at all...
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Yeah, I'm a bit leery of it myself, after reading all sorts of comments about people having issues getting various radios to come back on. Would like to see more feedback about it, though.

Only issue I have had is every now and then it won't turn my mobile data back on. I will take that since I can get almost 20 hours of use every day. I will post a screen shot of it later today to prove it.
Yeah, I enjoyed this app until I too had problems with it randomly turning off my data, other than that it is great at saving battery life.

What does this app do exactly..? In what ways does it save battery... does it lower cpu usage or does it disconnect wireless connections when not in use or what..?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Like most battery savers out there it controls connections and other features. But unlike most others this one actually does help get you more battery life. Before using this app i would only get about 12 hours total before I needed to charge. Now as you can see from above I get about double that.
@OP.
prior to using this app, were you one of those (like me) who always turn off unnecessary radios and services manually? Cuz I've always done that, and if this app makes an effect beyond that, I might be interested.
But I prefer to do it manually, myself (not to mention, due to OCD, I would always turn off radios manually). Are you not in that camp?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
No. I can't say I am. I never remember to turn them off so this app is great for me. It does have some other cool stuff. Check it out is all I can say. It is free. So if you don't like it you aren't out anything.
Simply put, the app sucks. Sucks bad. The concept is good, but the app, it sucks

If you have root access you can install Better Battery Stats (Free here: http://goo.gl/EjdB8) and choose partial wakelocks since unplugged. That will tell you what's keeping your phone from deep sleep.
Nothing is standing out in partial wake locks. Every bar is pretty much empty. And that app isn't free anymore according to that post.

Op, are you rooted? I noticed my battery goes a little quicker since I rooted and flashed cm10. I also noticed you are on 3g, did you disable 4g, is 4G available in your area? Maybe the phone constantly searching for 4G is draining. Not sure how that would show up in battery usage stats though.

Yes I am rooted. I noticed the battery draining faster after I flashed Google Wallet. I am stock rooted though. I turn off NFC when I don't need it, and the app doesn't sync often.
I'm not in a 4G area, but that has never drained my battery before. I can't imagine Wallet would be draining my battery..
I should also note that my brightness is set to full at all times. What's of interest to me is the fact that it isn't draining so much when the screen is on, it's when the screen is off is when it drains the most it seems. I'll leave the phone off for at least 20 minutes and when I turn it back on it'll have lost a few points.
Can't seem to figure it out. Like I said, it seems like I started noticing the battery draining quicker after I installed Google Wallet.

[Q] Screen absolutely killing battery

Hi, so ever since ICS, or at least SCv7 (not sure if it did it stock, I switched right away), my screen has bee completely killing my battery
I still get perfectly fine life with the screen off, but it just drops right down with it on even not doing anything to heavy. Definitely a problem not normal.
Anyone have any ideas? Is this happening to anyone else?
P.S. Thanks for the new Q and A section by the way.

What are your screen settings at (levels, auto on/off, etc)? Screen is by far the biggest drain on battery. Check my Battery Guide, last Page for an app mentioned to lower brightness more than the stock settings will allow for- maybe that would help in certain instances. I haven't tried it myself, but will be doing so over the weekend, and if beneficial I will update the OP with it.
My SGS3 is the same as my A2 being that the screen gobbled up battery like crazy. So, I suppose you're not alone, at least with what I've experienced.
Not sure if any of this is helpful, but thought I'd share my thoughts...

What are your screen settings at (levels, auto on/off, etc)? Screen is by far the biggest drain on battery. I keep it on auto or low all the time. this is definitely a real problem, because it was nowhere near as bad on GB. now I know they fixed the cell standby issue, but I can literally see the battery go right on down when I turn it on. 3-4 hours on would kill it.
Maybe try with auto off for a while, see if you notice any difference.

Turn auto off and get a widget to adjust yourself. Read an article one time how on Android system auto brightness is more harm than good.

Looking at your battery's discharge rate graph, looks pretty normal. There's no drastic drops in battery, it's fairly linear in discharge, and even if the screen is using most of that. However, there could be other culprits. What about sync, or haptic, or any of the other things I outlined in my guide? WiFi is off, from what I saw, but might not just be the screen. Have you tried editing build prop for "deeper" deep sleep or edits to other things? I'm going to update my OP with a few more things I thought of for improving overall battery life this weekend. Maybe some of the new ones will help...

I'm sure that the display is eatin more than GB ....
i didn't see display going >50% in GB ..... now on ICS its like always >=70%
i have 2nd system as MIUI from "rdavisct" when i switch to it & come back to ICS
then my battery calibration scrambles ... i did switchin yesterday & it showed me
30% far early than expected
Same problem here..my screen draining 57%
Why don't you try the app betterbatterystats it's here in xda:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15869868
This may help to see the real problem of the fast battery drain you said, also you can install the app rootDim from the playstore to custom your screen brightness.
I hope this helps.
