So I picked up a sidekick 4g for a gift, and all seems to work except for the SD card slot. I've tried multiple cards and none will show up and let me format. Any ideas. Does the SD card need to be formatted a certian way on the pc first??

Hey guys, I just got my sensation 4g today. Before I insert my sim into the sensation, I moved my apps to my sd card on my mytouch 4g. When I inserted my sd card from the mytouch into the sensation, my music and pics showed up and but not my apps that I saved to the sd card. Can someone help me please?
I'm guessing that even tho they're on your sd card, the new phone hasn't had the actual apps installed so it doesn't know what to do with all the info on the card.
Ok thank you.. I guess I'll use the sd card from the mytouch in my sensation
Hi
I have recently bought a SIM Card Reader which does not Recognise my HTC HD7 Windows 7 SIM, but does work fine with other SIMs I have. Now I have never used a card reader before so may well be doing something wrong. Two things that make me wander if the reader is faulty or I am not using the correct software is that; it was a very cheap reader; and the sims that were read appeared to have very little data on them - possibly because the contacts were saved to the phone not sim?
In any case, it would not read my sim for the HTC at all.
Does anyone know if this is normal for a windows 7 sim or do I need a different / replacement reader?
thanks

SIM cards are of a standardized format and are not different in different devices. Otherwise that defeats the purpose of being able to easily swap SIM cards between devices.
Either the SIM card is damaged or the reader may be faulty, or other unknown issues.
its normal that you cant read your wp7 phone sim card, since your phone locked it with some undocumented functions and encrypted it with a password aswell. the only way to make your sim card readable right now is to find someone with a nokia phone, format your sim card on that phone ( since those seem to be the only ones that are able to read the sim card ) and then it should be readable by your reader.

I think you're confusing SIM card with the micro SD card. Completely different.
ups, my bad. ignore my post. i'm sorry for posting that bull****.
How do you get around the "write only" on a micro SD card. There are no tabs to move and my S3 is locked up and I can't get to anything. I put the card in my PC and tried to load some data and I get write only. What the hell does it think I'm trying to do. I've got a new 64GB micro card that I can't use due to this. I've been all over the net and searched. Does anyone have a fix for this?
This is on a brick with Verizon sIII on it.
Hello! I am having an issue. I purchased a Sandisk 64gb micro SD for my S3. Here is the issue. I have done this formatted as both exFat and Fat32...I transfer music via iSyncr. I put the card in my computer. Transfer 25gbs of music. It works correctly, shows correctly. When I insert the card into my S3, it checks for errors. Go to storage and when formatted in exfat shows only 4gbs transferred. When formatted in fat32, shows roughly 14 transferred. I have formatted it every which way you could think with the same result. Card works fine in computer, put it in S3 and it seems it deletes the files. Anyone had this issue? I have done hours of reading on the S3 and 64gb cards and can't find an answer. Note, 32gb card works fine formatted as exFat. Thanks!

Hello,
Sorry for my poor english below.
I have a Moto 4G (XT1039) with Android 5.1 (patch level 2016-04-01).
I used it with no particular problem for several months with a MicroSD 64GB Samsung Evo. In recent days, the MicroSD is no longer visible on my phone (menus on the SD card in gray and space for this card in "Settings / Storage" has disapeared). Several reboots the phone after removing and re-inserting the card have brought nothing and "Wipe Cache Partition" brought nothing to the problem.
Can you tell me how to explore the problem a little more? FYI, I have a 2nd Moto 4G with the same version of Android and the same SD card that works well. I can maybe share SD cards to identify whether the problem comes from the card or phone but I am afraid to corrupt my 2nd phone or my second SD card.
What do you suggest me?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Gigi
Hi,
No matter if you don't want to corrupt your other card, you have to do some tests.
So, you can test your possibly wrong card in your other phone or with a computer and, depending of results, testing your good card in the possibly defective phone, that's all...
