I just installed krom theme from the market which includes several different backgrounds for my dock bar but I haven't a clue to access or change them.... anyone know how??? I've already been all through the adw menus and can't figure it out nothing gives me the option to change it only if I want 1,3,or 5 action buttons and tinting etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ADW Launcher EX will give you the ability to change the dock. The lesser version without the "EX" does not. I upgraded from the ADW that was included in the Cyanogen ROM and it works great. I assume you can run that launcher from any configuration. Hope this helps, I'm sure there are other methods as well.

By the way, if anyone is using Launcher Pro, this widget resizes horizontally very well.
When resized vertically the contact picture gets larger so it takes up more room. The voicemail message is given only 3 lines, no matter how large you make it. I will attach screenshots.

The only way I know of to resize the widget would be with something like launcher pro plus or you can do it by default if you're running CyanogenMod

By default he means with ADW Launcher. Cyanogen includes it in the rom but it is available for download. It is free in the market.
Thanks OP for posting the link. I saw this when it first came out on the G2 forum section but I couldn't get anyone to post at least a picture and I didn't want to go through all the trouble just to extract the new GV app(I'll let someone else do that). I just wish Google would put the voicemail feedback section in their mobile app that way i don't have to get on my computer to give feedback.

I like Android but i hate the widgets and the Homescreen, i don't need them. So i like the apple surface. Is there a launcher/hack to show always the app surface/drawer/app depot? I use.the go launcher and if it's possible i will use it further more.

Why not just resize your homescreen grid to hold more apps and put all your apps on scrollable homescreens? With adw you can even make the dock disappear all together to make more room for app icons.

Use ADW or LauncherPro and change settings so it won't close App Drawer when you open a new app.
Check if MIUI is available for your device, its does not have a app draw.

as said above .. Miui is pretty similar to iphone .. no Apps Drawer .. everything is on the main screen ... and its very fast ..

I suggest the same. also set number of home screens to (1). plus since you don't like the home screen, change the settings so that when you press the home button it pulls up your app drawer.

@OP- I'm not sure you really have an option... Even if u switched to miUI, u would have several homescreens instead of one app drawer. Your going to have to sacrifice. and yes the open/close app drawer is the option I were referring too. I've never seen a rom/preference to completely remove your home screens... Sry bredrin )-:

I've been using this, it keeps losing apps. It's better than nothing, but it's not as good as the MIUI Launcher.

I have lost an app when moving it to the trash can by mistake and tapping Cancel. Goto Settings, Applications and force stop it. Then restart vLauncher and the app should be back. I would like to see the developer pick this app up and do some updating.

I'm using Android Revolution and ADW EX launcher. Now I can't edit the icons anymore on adw ex. I hold down on the icon and nothing happens. Anyway to fix this?

ive just tried and mine works fine ?? im running everything the same as you.
1. Could do with a restart maybe?
2. Try removing the battery and see if that helps? Sometimes my screen doesnt respond to long presses.?

There's an option in ADW to lock or unlock the desktop. Sounds like it's locked right now. Locking prevents things like having your dock icons slip out every time you flip up the hidden dockbar but makes it so you can't do any alterations.

ughh forgot about that. I just uninstall and reinstalled it and its working now.
Glad it's working now! For all the options I tweaked with ADW, locking the desktop was the last thing I discovered.

Hi guys, I am using the epic 4g with randomrom 2.2 phoenix and it uses the swipepad launcher. A friend of mine was telling me about the adw launcher ex and was really excited about it. If I install it, will it mess up my rom? Any help is appreciated

No, you won't mess up anything. Download what ever launcher you like. After you've installed ADW you'll have two launchers (ADW and Swipepad). You can switch between these two by pushing your phones home button.
If you just want to use ADW, but not uinstall Swipepad, you choose "Use as default" and you'll only be using ADW. If you want to go back to Swipepad then go to "Manage Applications" and uncheck "Default settings" (or something like that).
Alright cool. So what is the significance of using a specific launcher with a particular rom? Do certain launchers work better with certain roms and phones or is it all user preference?

Some launcher look prettier, some skipped the good looks for better performance and some have special features.
It's mostly user preference though.
Just browse through the market and try them all out if you want.

I don't think it can be done with the stock launchers.
For nova launcher - Menu-->desktop-->wallpaper scrolling-->off
For apex launcher - Menu-->apex settings-->homescreen settings-->Wallpaper mode-->multiple screen, non scrolling
If you don't have either of these there are free versions available. They both come highly recommended and are based on the stock launcher. You can't actually tell the difference.
usually the method suggested by previous post can get the job done. however, if you still having issue, you can use Wallpaper Wizardrii app. the app is useful if you're using manufacturer launcher (touchwiz, sense, blur, etc) and prefer not to switch to other launcher. but since those launchers suggested are similar to stock launcher, then it shouldn't be an issue to use either of them.
