Hello All,
I have a HTC 7 Pro, and the HTC emblem on the back cover has come off (sadly, I have lost the letters). I know that this is in fact a manufacturing fault, but it is not worth sending it back just for this.
Does anyone know where I can order a new battery cover to replace the one that I have?
Thanks.
Nick

Hey guys.. I droped my touch pro about a week ago onto concrete and need a few replacement parts.. I haven't dropped a phone for years when I have had much cheaper phones and now I get a decent one this happens!
The phone actually still works 100% but is in a horrible state.. the digitzer has smashed but somehow still works, theres a key missing from the keyboard and the case is a bit munted, I will attach photos if I can.
I called 3 places in australia;
#1 HTC direct who said send it to us for a quote and we may be able to fix it ($38.50 for the quote and $11 to courier it back)
#2 A htc approved repair centre who said $170 for the screen and $110 for the keyboard.. I got into an argument with their receptionist saying the lcd is fine I just need the digitzer but she was adament they are one and the same.
#3 The vendor where I got the phone, who said their repair centre could fix it but I would have to send it to there for a quote ($35 for quote and $15 postage back)
So from what I can see I'm looking at around $300 from one place or pay $50 to another place for just the quote and they may not come back any cheaper..
I am confident enough to pull the phone apart and repair it myself.. don't have much to lose.. (I actually replaced the phone with a touch HD the next day.. sort of like drown your sorrows by replacing it with something better) As the touch pro wouldn't turn on and I figured it was completely dead..
On closer inspection a few days later I found the battery terminals had bent and wern't contacting, I bent them back and it turns on and works now)
I just want to replace the broken parts because it's a horrible mess!
I found a store on ebay selling the digitzer for $60 which is around what I would expect to pay, waiting to hear back from them if they can source a keyboard and the internal case parts, I thought someone on here might know where I can source these parts outside of Australia?
pics are below.. hope they work (warning: not for those with a weak stomach! )
Here you go

It would be easier to just buy the lcd with digitizer already installed
http://mobile.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=03799&dept_id=039&cat_id=1149
US$88.00
Here's the complete housing with keyboard.

US$85.00
Thanks, you're a lifesaver! the only trouble is that keyboard is different to mine I think the keys would probably all line up and work but you would have to know which one was which (the symbols and punctuation ones would be hard) if I can't get the right one I'll probably order from there but if anyone knows where I can get the correct keyboard that'd be even better
Happy to help
Let me see if I can find you the touch pro keypad.

If you were here I would hug you, I have no idea how you found that so fast, maybe I was looking in the wrong places (scouring ebay and google australia) but I've been looking for hours! can now order all the parts I need to turn it into a brand new phone
Out of interest, when you say it's easier to get the screen with the digitzer already installed, is there a reason for that? I see digitizers advertised everywhere seperately, and thought they were an entirely seperate part to the LCD, or are they connected via a bunch of fragile edge connectors? I'm happy to pay the extra $44 to get the lcd / digitzer combo if theres a risk of screwing up seperating them but if it's not a hugely risks job then I wouldn't mind saving the cash..
Thanks so much d3th metal
Hey mate, i got a big f'ing scratch down my brand new fuze. Would love to know how this goes, if you get the digitizer or full screen. As im going to try and polish it out, but i dont hold much hope. So i think this is going to be the only way.
Don't know if this is a case of too little too late information, but i tried to replace the digitizer only on my touch pro because i had some major scratches on the screen. I've taken a part a number of phones in the past and I work with electronics for a living, and for the life of me I have no idea how anyone could separate the LCD from the touchscreen. I ended up cracking the LCD glass and breaking one of the itty-bitty flat cable connectors. My recommendation to anyone contemplating this is to just pay the additional cash to get the LCD and digitizer together. I tried to save $40 and now my phone is in a zillion parts in a plastic bin waiting for the new screen to get here

Yeh the way to do it is to use a razor blade. It will definitely take some time though and a lot of patients.
This would be awesome for a sticky. It would provide anyone who needs help with getting parts for their touchpro/raphael/fuze if they decide they need it.

I have a boot up Touch pro from HTC not AT&T, but just not go to the operation mode! Screen is prefect condition no starch, will come with screen protector. The outside case is prefect condition, Anyone want it? I will like to sell it for 120 dollar including OEM box, everything ALSO come with the SEIDIO case with clip. Please PM me for any question. Long story short, dropped and damaged my HTC TP2. It still functions, but reception is noticeably weaker and I get signal lost notices frequently. I have a replacement insurance with Asurion, but when I called to file a claim, they said that the TP2 is no longer available and the replacement phone would be an HTC Imagio. what?!
I told them heck no. They said to call back if I change my mind. I need a slide-out qwerty keyboard, and I LOVE my TP2.
You guys have any ideas or suggestions here?
Tell them to replace it with a moto droid as it has qwerty, then sell then new droid on ebay and buy a TP2 with the cash.
How badly damaged is it? can you pm me some pics or pm me to get my email. i might be able to help you .. PM only
The antenna lead on the TP2 snaps into place. When the phone dropped it may have snapped out of place. Removing the top two screws allows you to pry out the antenna ans check if the lead is properly snapped in place.
Is the physical damage bad? Because if not then verizon should replace it free.
Hey I'm a Tech at sprint, send me a picture and lemme see whats broken. I may have a extra part for you (if you wanna cover the shipping) depending on whats broken.
Hi all,
the H from the HTC on the back side of my DHD fell down
do you know maybe if i can get new one somewhere?
Try with the H on the front of a Hospital.
Sorry I'm joking... I'm really strongly convinced that there is anything right to solve your problem.
Sorry
LOL, maybe i can buy the back panel??
yes.. check ebay, craigslist. etc.. for a desire hd back plate.. or if you want an att badged one, inspire 4g backplate..
could cost anywhere from free to $40-$50.00 US.
I did the same when i decided to refurbish my wifes inspire 4g.. bought a desire hd backplate... watched some youtube for how-to take it apart.. (your gonna be taking it apart, you can at least to the research yourself.. youll learn more).
30-45 min later i had a brand new inspir.. nvm.. Desire HD
just as geraldf80 said... you'll have to buy it from ebay...
You could also buy a case which covers the back
Thanks Guys
I don't thik warranty will work there so place a sticker there
look there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1046394&page=5
On eBay:

You could just buy a protective cover. That way no one will know the "H" is missing, and you will be less likely to lose the other letters!
try ebay, you may find a back panel for dhd, or just buy a protection case
Protection cover is the best way to go

Hi anyone ever try replacing the one that is on the screw with the one they sell on ebay wondering if they are the same as the one that was on my tmobile us version can't rember what it looked like if someone can post a picture would appreciate it thanks
This is rather sneaky!! Probably illegal.. But I like your thinking!!
Probabbly so is there idea that because you broke a sticker that it is no longer a manufacturing defect
My Nexus screen crashed when I sadly droped it to the ground.
So, i'll buy a new replacement screen and change myself.
I just looked at ebay and it has lots of sellers of OEM LG Original Screen replacements, but they all send from China.
Is that right? I mean, it will really be original parts from LG?
Can I trust them?
Also, my Nexus 5 is the white version, but I saw I can change the battery cover, and i thinking of buying a new one in Red color.
Should I be worried about changing the back cover? Some compability problem between versions?
I've bought plenty of phone stuff from China and most of it is legit... in fact, even the stuff sold as not from China probably still came from China originally. As for the cover, there is no difference other than colour so you will be fine if you want to change to red
