[Q] CM7 Nightly Issue? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys,
i recently updated vom CM7 Stable (2.3.3) to a CM7 Kang (2.3.4). Now when I wake the phone up there is a short green flash on the lockscreen. Then it suddenly disappears, but it's everytime i push the power button. Can someone help?
Thanks in advance

Have you tried with other ROM?
If not, definitely it's the kang.
Then again if it's a kang / nightly build, what can you say.

Maybe it's the screen off/screen on animation?

It really is the screen off animation. When I activate the screen off / on animation theres no green flash. When it's deactivated there is this green flash when turning the phone on and off.
So I just let the animation activated. Thanks for this easy solution!

No problem

Synergy S3 frozen at lock screen

I have been using the Synergy ROM and one time when I turned on my phone, it was stuck at the lock screen, but sideways. I have tried countless times to reboot the phone but nothing seems to fix it. Can anyone please help me with this problem?
You flashed Synergy (what version?) and it's been working for awhile and all of a sudden this problem started, or you flashed Synergy and can't get past the lockscreen on your first boot up?

[Q] Please help CM 10.1 on HTC EVO 4G LTE

This is my first time rooting or doing any modifying to my phone. Can someone please help??!
I have installed the CM 10.1, but whenever I reboot, it takes me to the main screen (language screen), but I am unable to do anything. The touch screen and interactive buttons do not work. The only buttons that work are the power and volume buttons. I can only go back to the bootloader and/or twrp, what do I do???!

Not really sure what you mean, but are you s-on? because then you have have to flash the kernel manually.
I know with my HTC One X I have to flash the boot.img manually before installing CM10 otherwise it just won't work.
Download adb / fastboot
Reboot into bootloader
Connect USB
command is "fastboot flash boot boot.img" - obviously the boot.img is the kernel.
reboot and all should be working
Screen nonresponsive
I flashed my HTC EVO 4G LTE to Cyanogen 10.1. Stupid me didn't make a backup. I have the same issue as OP - the phone boots ok, but screen and keys at the bottom of the screen are non-responsive. I tried flashing 10.0, that didn't work. The Cyanogen splash screen hung. Tried going back to RUU (stock) but I have the new bootloader with Jellybean, and that wouldn't work either. I tried manually flashing the kernel from the latest nightly and got no errors. But same issue. The phone loads, but screen doesn't work.
Found my own answer. This is a typical issue with CM10.1 - the screen drivers have changed. For anyone else who stumbles across this with the same issue...

Quick Question
Hi guys,
I just have a quick question. I'm on MeanBean 3.09. Its great, but I'm getting the urge to switch roms. I loved cm 10.1, but I missed the voice mail function- which i found an apk to a modded voice mail. I was also having the problem of not getting certain notifications. Facebook, Messenger, and other social apps weren't showing notifications, I would have to manually check. This was a major inconvenience. I was wondering if that has been resolved? Or is there a fix for it?
Thanks,
Nick M.

[Q] Stuck on CM splash screen...

I'm running CM on my phone when the power button stopped working. I tried to re install the rom but something went wrong, and now I can't get past the splash screen with Cid. Whenever I try to boot into recovery I get the blue text, but it will not boot, it just shuts off. Whats the best way to fix this problem?
Thank you.

Device not turning off?

Hi guys.
As i recently installed TwistedKat and charged my phone over night because the battery was empty i couldnt turn off the screen via power button anymore. Longpressing it still shows the menu but i cant turn off the screen at all. What was also quite amazing is that the bootscreen doesnt come up anymore, its just a black screen instead of the twistedkat logo.
Im on TwistedKat 2.6
Using the Icecode Kernel from the 28. march since i cannot download the latest version.
Any ideas what this could be?
(Wiping caches also doesnt help i tried that a few times)
Edit: the problem also happened while i was on another rom - vanir - i solved the problem by doing a fresh install but since its happening again i would love to know what causes this problem.

Phone not starting after using CM Updater

Hey guys,
I have a huge problem with my Galaxy S5 (klte) using CM13. I just wanted to try out the CM Updater so I searched for the latest nightly and downloaded it. No problem with this. Then I hit "install" and the phone shut down too reboot in recovery mode. Here is my problem: The screen is just black and ever about 7 secs the screen turns on for some milliseconds which makes it impossible to read what it says but it also shows the android logo you see when installing a new ROM.
How can I fix it?

I'm stuck in recovery booting now. By removing the battery, putting it back in and pressing the power button it just boots into recovery mode and shows the same like before.
