haha okay well I downloaded the snap turbo kernel, and when I go to flash it (amon v1.6.2) it loads some stuff, then after a few seconds it says "status (0) installation aborted". probably just a newbie problem, but does anyone know what's wrong? I'm using cyanogen 6.1.
Did you try re-downloading the file?
It's possible the file is corrupt.
Thats a EVO kernel
yeah I realized that several days ago hahaha, my dad thought it was for any cm6. i wound up using decafuct's kernel, i'm quite impressed.
I'm getting "assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") error when trying to flash the AOSP ROM. I notice someone else was having this problem in the thread as well, but I couldn't post there.
I am currently running
CM
ROM .5.1
Kernel netarchy 1.3.1
and yes I have tried clearing the data and dalvik cache before install.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Download his new test build. He updated it recently. I'm running it now and it's fast.
Make sure you are downloading the test build for Opensoju4G at the bottom of his website and not Opensoju 0.2.1 for the NS

Which recovery are you using? If you are on CWM 3.0.2.4 - you need to upgrade to 3.1.0.1. Rom manager will let you flash the new recovery

WOW,it looks so cool !!!!tks! have a try !
Very nice, quick and I like some of the new features.
I notice there is no people widget, which is a shame but can live without it.
Also the front facing camera fc whenever I try to use it.
I also see it has the old market which I prefer anyway.
I did a full wipe when installing this rom by the way.
Many thanks though.
Downloading now, will give feedback later.

After flashing this ROM my phone gave the E: cannot mount /cache/recovery.log error.
The ROM boots but does this mean if I try and flash another it won't work? Or did the ROM just mess up the cache?

Try restoring a nandroid backup. If it does not work, check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1150917 Maybe your eMMC-chip has died
I'll leave it for now, at least it boots. No idea why it's happened though I haven't done anything.

I gave it a quick go, looks like a slightly simplified version of Sense with only 5 homescreens. Ran ok with no issues here.
I love the dock having 5 items instead of the usual 3 and the fact you can customize them is great, rom is nice and quick too and everything seems to be working apart from the front camera.
Is the fact that Boot Manager (the app for multiple roms) works a sign that my eMMC chip isn't dead? It flashes an update.zip to work as I understand.
EDIT: Did some research, and the eMMc isn't dead! woo!
It seem doesn't have any bugs ?
Cam work good with this one. Aldı front cam works good.

Try formatting it via recovery and flash the ROM again, worked for me.
Is there any way to get the weather lockscreen back, I really liked that.

There is nothing to be scarred. I test my roms before uploading. I flash 10 roms daily to test and I never got bricked device.

Yeah I did the diagnostic stuff and it isn't dead, that error makes you automatically assume the worst though! I think it's when the ROM does stuff to the cache in flashing and gives that error
I'm running version .07 but all I can find for extended settings in version 14 I believe (not sure if the version matters) when I try and flash I get an aborted fail message.

Yes version matters.........
u have to have the right ES Mod to go with the right MiUi version.......
i have had issues with this as well, and even when i did get it flashed.....i got force closes on certain things.
AND your abort failed message may just be you NOT mounting the System.
Go into Recovery Mounts and Mount it. then flash

Hello,
I bought this tablet for my wife I would like to upgrade to Jellybean since they are to cheap to do it themselves. Does anyone know of a custom rom I could upgrade this with? Thanks in advance.:good:
Your tablet has an OMAP4430 (or 4460, find out the exact model first), so you'll need to port a ROM from another OMAP-bassed device (such the Galaxy Nexus or the Amazon Kindle Fire HD).

Thanks so much for the reply. How would I be able to find out the correct one.:good:
The exact CPU model you mean? Use CPU Identifier (or CPUz).

Its says:
Dual Core:1.2
Cpu: ARM Cortex-9
GPU Vendor: Imagination Technologies
Revision: r2p1l
Renderer: Power VR SGX540
Kernel: ARCH-arm71
Kernal version: 3.0.8 (v402)
Does this help?
Thanks for your continued help.
Hmm... not really. CPU Identifier should show you some more accurate info.

Then you would use a galaxy nexus ROM to port to your device. There are tons of guides so I'm sure you'll find what you need.

You can't directly use a galaxy nexus ROM, I'm not sure if you went through the port process, but, you also need a custom recovery for your device. That is actually much harder to make.

What you have to do is port a custom recovery to your device, it could be either clockworkmod or twrp. There are guides here but its not easy

Just follow the guides, its different per device. Your Asus doesn't even have an omap chip in it, so the process will be different.
