Unknown Sources won't stay checked.. - Thunderbolt General

Just got a used Boit yesterday, running CM7.1.0-RC0 with slayher's kernel #16 and I can't get the unknown sources checkbox to stay checked. As soon as I back out, it's unchecked. Tried rebooting to no avail. Coming from a Droid X this is all new to me, so any ideas guys? Thanks in advance.

Try the update, that was a known issue.

Thanks, which update? CM7 or the kernel or other? Flash it from Rom Manager? Trying to get my head around all the different options that the X didn't have. Appreciate the help..

Go to the slayhers thread in the op the link that says LATEST is rc03.

New Gingerbread 4.24/4.26 update?

Ladies & Gentlemen, as we speak I am manually checking for an update from HTC. There was actually a GB update waiting for download. Its either 4.24 or 4.26. Can't check as I am currently downloading. Please try....and post back with your experiences. Thanks!
Edit: This was already posted in the Evo Q&A Section and General Section.

Interesting was there supposed to be an update?
Maybe I'm missing something but I didn't see anything new for the Evo. Last update was in December.

I checked today and there was a 8 meg update but I'm rooted so I didn't update it.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Thee has been one major update which was the GB 4.22 update plus this one which is 4.24. It is only 6MB, so I'm sure its nothing major. Keep trying the manual update. Took me two tries.

There was a update for the Evo for Gingerbread 2.3.3 and then another one that was a maintenance update to the fix the everyone was having with Netflix, bettery fix and also for streaming videos to your phone.

I got the 4.22 update today, but didn't update cuz I just got my Evo, and wanted to root it this evening. So I just got done rooting using the auto root method.

How did you find this? I checked HTC support page. Where should I be looking? Running Cm7 I can't do it through the updates like on Sense.

It is under Settings/Software Updates/HTC Software update.
FYI: It does not update radios, the locked hboot 2.16.001, or Wimax. It does seem to make my phone respond faster (apps snappier & data seems faster).

The faster response is probably a result of rebooting your phone and not having 100 apps running in the background eating up memory

I've had reports that the base was "stolen".
OP, contact me with ROM details and approval of original developers.
Closed until resolved.
EDIT: Thread reopened, ROM is legit.
I let Neo know that the OP spoke to me days ago asking for permission to use Refuse as a base. I granted it.
It is very nice to know though that the community looks out for the devs. It means alot

Has anyone tried the OMFGB rom for G2X yet?

They have built three nightlies of this ROM. Development got halted but dev says they are going to get back on it soon. Says anything posted on website should be ok to flash. It looks interesting and I might give it a go as the first custom rom I try on my stock rooted GB G2X. If anyone has experience with this rom please reply to this thread.
Here is link to nightlies downloads.

I now some of you guys will flash anything and everything you can get your hands on so enjoy. You might not have known about this one.
I tried this one a while back when they first announced it. Its pretty cool. God mode is awesome and the launcher is smooth. Its cm7 based so you have all the customizing and access to the theme engine. It was stable for me but the only reason I didn't stuck with it was because of the hault in development for it.

well I saw that you can download a hacked .APK for S voice that will work on any ICS phone, so I downloaded the .APK to use on my S2 w/ ICS on it. Now when I go to install it I get a message that says "Application not installed", can any one help me fix this so I can install it? I have seen people on youtube doing it with the S2 so I know it should work on my S2.

Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
doesn't fc, but the main button freezes right after first command, then I have to kill it to fix it. The other buttons work like help and disable voice response. Also, the only command that seemed to work was "Hi Galaxy". Then it said hi. Other commands I tried included "call mom", and the response I got was "calling mom" and then freeze. The back button clears the messages on the board, but functions are useless.
