[Q] AOSP compilation errors - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hello,
I try to compile AOSP for HTC Desire Z but I have an error :
Code:
device/htc/vision/libsensors/AkmSensor.cpp:25:27: error: linux/akm8975.h: No such file or directory
I used android-2.3.4_r0.9[1] with some CyanogenMod modules :
CyanogenMod/android_device_htc_vision
CyanogenMod/android_device_htc_msm7x30-common
CyanogenMod/android_packages_apps_Superuser
I found the missing file in kernel/common[2] but how to include it in the android sources ?
I also try compile CyanogenMod (Compile CyanogenMod for Vision[3]), but i have another error :
Code:
$ . build/envsetup.sh && brunch vision
...

You need the proprietary file. Get it from another ROM as doesn't seem to be in cm. I think the f4k ROM has it (probably several others too)

[Q] Cyanogenmod build issue Asus tf300t

I have followed all the instructions on how to build cyanogenmod for asus tf330t
wiki : "How To Build CyanogenMod Android for Asus Transformer Pad ("tf300t") "
when I am on the step where I enter :
$ ./extract-files.s
In the terminal I was getting the following errors :
[email protected]:~/android/system/device/asus/tf300t$ ./extract-files.sh
./extract-files.sh: 11: ./extract-files.sh: adb: not found
.
.
.
.
.
./extract-files.sh: 11: ./extract-files.sh: adb: not found
This is my extract-files.s
!/bin/sh
BASE=../../../vendor/asus/tf300t/proprietary rm -rf $BASE/*
for FILE in cat proprietary-files.txt; do DIR=dirname $FILE if [ ! -d $BASE/$DIR ]; then mkdir -p $BASE/$DIR fi adb pull /system/$FILE $BASE/$FILE done
./setup-makefiles.sh
Since it could not find the adb I changed my extract-files.s and instead of adb I put the full path to the adb that I had from downloading the adt bundle from android's webiste.
so my extract-files.s looks like this now ....
!/bin/sh
BASE=../../../vendor/asus/tf300t/proprietary rm -rf $BASE/*
for FILE in cat proprietary-files.txt; do DIR=dirname $FILE if [ ! -d $BASE/$DIR ]; then mkdir -p $BASE/$DIR fi /home/tanzeelrana/Desktop/desktop\ folder/Downloads/adt-bundle-linux-x86_64-20130522/sdk/platform-tools/adb pull /system/$FILE $BASE/$FILE done
./setup-makefiles.sh
and this is what I got in the terminal when I run the extract-files.s
[email protected]:~/android/system/device/asus/tf300t$ sudo ./extract-files.sh [sudo] password for tanzeelrana: 137 KB/s (13492 bytes in 0.095s) 1501 KB/s (1149984 bytes in 0.747s) 25 KB/s (1243 bytes Can someone tell me how can I fix this ? I am new to cyanogenmod and this is the first time I am trying to build a cyanogenmod ROM.
I want to create a customized cyanogenmod os for my asus (for example block some apps, edit some applications the way they work, add some apps that will be installed when I install cyanogenmod from recovery mode etc). I want to edit the source code and then build my own zip fie that I can install. Am I going in the write direction ?
Please help
I cannot help you with your question.
But I can tell you that you posted it in the wrong forum.
You should try to find a forum for CM developers.
Seems your having permissions issues pulling the blobs, but you can find the tf300t ones here: https://github.com/xplodwild/android_vendor_asus_tf300t

Are you using the device repos posted on TeamRegular's github account or do you have your own device repos you are using? If you have your own device tree repos are they on github? I ask this because I am working on building XenonHD for the h631. I currently have it booting to the point it shows the starting apps toast after optimizing all the apps. But then it falls back to a boot loop. I have pulled a logcat and for the life of me I can not pin point what is causing the crash. I already had to modify the device tree some just to get to this point asjust using the TeamRegular device tree repos as they are would not build. I added TARGET_KERNEL_SOURCE to the device/lge/h631/BoardConfig.mk so the kernel would build inline. That got it building but it would only boot to splash screen not far enough to pull a log cat. So I add PRODUCT_BOOTCLASSPATH, PRODUCT_SYSTEM_SERVER_CLASSPATH, and TARGET_LDPRELOAD to the device/lge/g4stylus-commom/BoardConfigCommon.mk and the required blob files that are in the BOOTCLASSPATH. This got the init.environ.rc to have the correct values and has me booting to where I am now. But as I said I cannot find what is causing the system crash in my logs. I have not pushed these changes yet as I wanted to wait until it is booting to home screen so I know they are actually needed. Just trying to see if you can offer any info that will help me out here without playing the trial and error game. Hope to here back from you.
Also just so you know and seeing as I use to be a mod here I feel I need to inform you that you need to post a link to your kernel source so you will not be in GPL violation.

Yes. I am extremely new to development, and have been assisted greatly by Riku (mentioned in contribs). So new, in fact, I'm struggling to build the stock kernel with no modifications. So unfortunately, I can't help you.
Also, thank you for bringing gpl laws to my attention. Its getting late here but I'll try to get those up tomorrow. It's tr's device tree and a custom kernel by Riku. I'll get all the sources up tomorrow. It's good to hear we have a new rom in development for this device, too! Thank you for your contribution to this device!

Can you link me to Riku's repositories that you are working with?
@bradym512 if you need any assistance in building cm please feel free to pm me and i will assist in any way i can
I flashed your build on my device and within 30 minutes had the camera and GPS fixed. I know what your issue is because I pulled the blob files from your build to try and use with mine as I pulled all mine from a stock rom. The below is the output I hadwhen pulling the files which lead me to the fix for camera and GPS. But the camera is only partially fixed as it seems the camcorder makes the camera app crash. I have not pulled a logcat yet to see if I can find what causes the app to crash. I have a feeling it is more missing blob files that have yet been added to device/lge/g4stylus-common/proprietary-files.txt. But anyway the reason your camera is not working is you do not have system/lib/hw/camera.msm8916.so and GPS is not working cause you do not have system/priv-app/com.qualcomm.location/com.qualcomm.location.apk. I have attached a zipfile with both the files you need and pictures taken with the cm camera app I installed as well as screenshots of GPS working. I tested GPS with Google Maps and GPS Test app.

Glad to see you got GPS Working. It was such a simple fix, that was overlooked by many including me lol. But camera was already working. Video Recording is what didn't work. I'm running the first build that unjustified dev compiled with camera working and video recording not working. I agree I think there's some missing blob files for video recording. Video recording and the LED are the only 2 bugs left.
Thank you for that man, I made a zip to flash in recovery that just places the location apk and the camera lib where they belong.... I will upload it if anyone is interested and if you and bradym512 are okay with that.

On the POST10J stylos, the camera app is flat-out absent. I'll continue to ask around and work with my *limited* skills to fix the remaining bugs.

Well I saw that camera was listed as not working in the OP. Plus there is no camera app included in the ROM.

I have no issue with it as this is not my build, I am just offering help with it. Also you do not need to flash the files as a zip as you can add them manually as I did.

I would still like to see your kernel source as I have tried building this ROM and got the same error you did . I found the board_lge.h and added it to my kernel source but still get the same error. So I would really like to see how you it is fixed in your kernel. Plus like I said before kernel source is required by GPL.

Yea, the OP just mentioned the camera was gone on post 10J builds but on Pre 10J builds, it was there with the camera working, just not video recording. Since you're using his Post 10J build that explains why the camera was missing for you.
Yeah I know putting them where they belong manually works too but I'm kinda lazy.....

Hey I know you from Android Forums. I'm Gbob2k15 on there lol nice you see you on XDA
It's really nice to see I have so much support here as I begin my dev adventure. I'm working on remaking the kernel altogether. If you have any experience building kernels, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3262350
Help greatly appreciated

No problem man, it's a delight to have someone dedicating their time to our device. I have no knowledge on kernels really, but there's plenty of devs on XDA that might help with such, like Unjustified Dev or Franco

MMC pinout does not exist for the moment for G5. can use it either by typing on the SD card or by programming the MMC directly.

Hello, need solution for H860 to unbrick

Hello people. Anyone found a solution for G5 H850 when the phone does not turn on?
Is there a way to get data back from internal storage chip? Mine just died the other day, official service said one of the processors is unresponsive and they do not have the info how to get the data out.
Is there an option to access data?
Is there an option to make image of internal drive and copy paste to identical phone?
Is there an option to just switch memory module with identical phone?
Thanks to anyone who is able to answer even one question.
