I was wondering if there is a way to develop/port the MIUI Notification Bar to the Heinz Rom. It has quite a few options in the notification bar and i was wanting it. But they cant get the miui rom for Mesmerize bc there is no one to do the port

The froyo miui rom was ported to the mes a long time ago. It's available in these forums and I believe there's an updated version in the irc. No idea if the notification bar could be ported but I doubt it since it's aosp based not touchwiz.

The "new" bar is from 2.3 which we haven't gotten ported yet, and may not until we see a fully functional AOSP rom (I believe chromwolf is attempting to port it) It's not much different than the 2.2 miui bar (in fact I prefer the 2.2 bar, if you scroll it left and right you get to the other options whereas in 2.3 it's spread out on tab's on the pull down taking up space.) Either way porting a MIUI part into a TW rom will be nearly impossible as MIUI is quite different code wise.

Hey guys,
Just installed Serendipity 5.10 with some add-ons (great ROM btw ) on my Captivate. Not a big fan of the Transparent Notification add-on though. How do I get back to its original "solid" look?
Thanks!
Chance has provided a flashable zip.

get on board with serendipity. I dont believe you can do this with stock rom, and if you want a functional phone, you should have a custom rom anyone.
also, the transparent notification bar is a tad bit laggier than the regular one in serendipity, but if youre stock now anyway, its still lightening fast
was wondering if there is a way to edit and change Icons of apps without a app?
Or is this something u have to build customly into a custom rom.
Im using a 2.2 mesmerize

You can change the icon with android 2.3 gingerbread since it's built with "Theme Chooser", not with Android 2.2 as I know..
darn and I dought the galaxy S series wont have gingerbread anytime soon if at all altough im sure galaxy s could handle it

Hello everyone.
I have the Droid 2 Global. I'm wondering if there's a way to get the Gingerbread Rom from the Droid 2 on the phone and working. I've seen people saying there's a patch that you can apply for the radio so it uses the right frequency being that this phone is for Global use or GSM and all is this correct?
I mean I've seen people say that you can take a Droid 2 Rom apply it to this phone then patch it right?
So does that mean that I Can use a Droid 2 Gingerbread Rom on here and that I just need to patch it after?
If so please do tell because I don't see any one mentioning this any where and I've looked for the last few weeks now.
Thanks ahead of time people.
No, trying to install the droid 2 gingerbread on a d2g will result in an instr-brick that you can't fix. That patch that you're talking about is the get r done rommer that only applies to froyo Roms from the d2, it doesn't work on gingerbread Roms until the d2g gets gingerbread.

I really wish some one would show this phone some love already.. This is a good phone. I keep seeing people asking about roms. Do I need to donate because I will? I came from a welcom a88 that was a piece and it had gingerbread via cyanogen and an hd2 that had cyanogen. I don't understand why this one has nothing yet.... Thank you for answering me by the way.
Much appreciated.
Cyon mod needs to be able to get to the bootloader, to work we have a locked one so we cant get cyon till its unlock. but we have some devs coming up, but they are waiting for a leaked Gingerbread or OTA, before they start to build a rom, some people feel that the GB is only days aways

GOD i hope you're right it's driving me nuts. I already made my status bar transparent on my own using ninja morph. Now I'm trying to find some one that can give me a status bar drop down background that's transparent and I will be happy until the rom is released.
I can't see my text right now on the drop down because it's pitch black and the text is pitch black.
It would be nice if someone can get the quickpanel that krylon worked on ported over to stock 2.3.3. Miss having that

Well for starters it is for AOSP only. So it was never made for a stock rom. It probably requires the AOSP drivers to get it going.
I wouldn't expect this to work on stock for a while. If it was easy, I'm sure Krylon would have done it.
Also, CM7 and MIUI both have customizable (select which ones you want to use) toggles in the drop down menus.
Is there a way to get the power controls added to the notification shade if using the stock GB OTA? I've looked and can't seem to find an App or mod specifically for that.
I've found threads about changing the colors and mostly it's people modding the pngs for it via the system?.apk file but I'm not sure how one would add tat, or if we could, say, take the system.apk from a rom that has it already such as Weapon g2x and just drop that on a Stock rooted OTA?
Any idea's or methods I'm just not aware of?
there's an app called "StatusBar+" in the market that has the ability to add power control widget buttons or w/e in the notification bar on non rooted phones....if thats what you're meaning?
StatusBar+ isn't working for the G2X... Any other ideas??

if that app doesnt work, then the only other way is flashing a custom rom! I think u should just root the phone if u havent already, its nearly impossible to brick the thing unless ur completely unfamiliar with it, but even then, its damn hard! There's a ton of awesome roms with the notification widgets
Yeah my phone is rooted. I'm currently using EB 2.3.3 1.07 which I believe is one of the most stable roms... I just wish there was a way to add that feature (power control bar to the notification bar) to this rom without having to flash a different rom or theme...

Could I just take the Systemui.apk file from one of the Weapon2.5 themes and replace my current Systemui.apk file?
I'm thinking it won't work because I'm on EB 2.3.3 1.07, there may be some other files missing from this rom that I might need??
you won't know until you try.
just make a nandroid b4 doing it.

EB already has that....settings --> Cyanogenmod settings -->Interface --> Notification Power Widget
from my themeing experience of weapon and vibrant roms I think its a combination of frameres and systemui. I could be wrong but if it was me id ask a dev who has it in their ROM already it could greatly ease the method to achieve the desired effect.

Well I will take your advice... I see you are the maker of the Precision theme for Weapons... It looks pretty sweet..
Will you be making this theme for Eagle Blood 2.3.3 (v1.07+)? Or better yet does this theme work with EB already?
FYI... It was your theme that I was going to try and use the systemui.apk file...
I have no idea if it will work on eb or not. Im currently working on a few things, but might be able to port it soon.

I believe he's talking about EaglesBlood 2.3.3, not 2.3.5.
The notification power widgets on gingerbread roms are in the SystemUI.apk. The problem is, unless you are really snuggly with linux, java, and the sdk, your chances of coding your own are weak.
However, if you have a rom available to you from the same android and phone versions, you have a good shot at getting it to work, as with weapons systemui on eb 2.3.3.

I have 1/3 lol. Well it's sad that this is the case. I know it is pretty hard to write apps but it seems some things should just be a given considering, Like why no app for this or even a built in option at this point? Oh Well, I'll figure something out for sure.. anyone wanna send me the systemui.apk from Weapon so I don't have to reinstall it again?
