[Q] No youtube app on Belgian Transformer, some help?

Hi all,
I have a quite annoying issue with my Belgian Transformer.
There is no YouTube app (no widget either) on it! Apparently it is due to the stupid Belgian copyrights protection organisation, called SABAM.
When I search for it in the Market, I can't find it. When I click on a direct Market link to the app, I can find the phone version, but when I try to install it, the Market can't find it anymore.
I also tried a hint from someone, he said to search for the wigdet, and then the app would show up in the app drawer.
I installed the Youtube 2.1.6.apk (for phones) on it, and it works, but it does not have the nice Honeycomb interface.
Is it possible to exctract the application from an onther TF (rooted or unrooted) so I can install it on mine?
If yes, would someone be that nice?

This is the YouTubeTablet.apk extracted from the Prime_v1.2_US ROM (I just happened to have that one on my PC), it should work for you. If it's not what you want, head over to the development section, download one of the ROM's and extract the apk.

@i_machine: Look for "Market Enabler" in market and set it to US. Then open market again and see if you can find Youtube now

Thanks for the tip, but this requires root access, which I'm not planning to do in the near future.

Where did you buy your TF ?
I got mine imported fom US so no issues with stupid Sabam...
Nice to know a fellow Belgian is using the TF

AFAIK there is are no separate firmware update for BE. Don't know how they will detect that your device is a SABAM'ed one. Did you upgrade to 3.1 already?
Or will it just filter Youtube out as soon as you set your location to BE?

I have an imported US model, youtube works fine on mine, but indeed in the market it isn't available so i guess future Youtube updates are also an issue for me I Guess.

I do find it strange that 1 TS bought in Belgium does not have the youtube app/widget where mine also bought in Belgium does have the youtube app/widget installed by default.
Am happy to see that I_machine finally got his app

haha, maybe thats the cause, you just give me the answer i think.
Difference between me and I_machine is that i choose for the English installation and he obvious choose for the dutch (Belgian) configuration.
Only way to not install that youtube app is indeed looking for country specific setting.

I bought mine at mediamarrkt in Brussels... left it in English. Was able to install YouTube without a problem. I have 3.0.1 and SKU HRI

Me too. No youtube app (Belgian TB) bought at Makro and installed Dutch.
Today on 3.2; notice that when I open a non-tablet app and the screen resizes, when I leave the app and go to the home screen, one third of the bottom screen keeps on 'flashing' and is unreadable until I open another app and then go back to the home screen.

Strange, it's available in India through my developer console. May I ask what type of phone you have? If from googling around I find it should work on your phone I'll gladly upload it to a filesharing site for you.

EDIT: The reason I'm hesitant to post a link is because it will throw off all my developer statictics, you also won't get updates. I'm also not sure what kind of security concerns would be associated with it. If there is some reason why it isn't working I'd rather fix the cause of the problem. In the end though I'd rather everyone had it so if I can't fix the problem I'll upload a copy of the APK.

It's kind of weird that you came up with an app whose got no developer and trying to claim it yours?
Before posting that app here you are suppose to take the real developers permission, if you aren't sure who the developer is, check the resources from where you got it.
I may sound a bit rude but I think the developers needs to get all this credits and thanks, not you

I don't think he's trying to take any credit. He's clearly said the app's not his. Its isn't even on google play yet so it's not like he's selling it (it's even a free download from dropbox so it's not like he's getting paid for downloads). I fail to see why you're attacking him so hard. Perhaps its one of the apps developed on chinese forums where the dev doesn't speak english. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I don't see the justification for such an assault.
To the OP, I think it would be proper as well to know the dev or know if you're acting on his behalf. I'd like to suggest some features as well .

Could someone please do a teardown review of this app to ensure it's not sharing data? I really want to use this, but I'm a little nervous about its mysterious origins.

What in the world is going on here!?!?!? You did NOT create this app. Normally, I do not post anything that is not positive, but I must speak out against this. You are NOT the developer of this app, & how dare you try to take credit for it. I've been using this app for years, since the days of Froyo, & it's actually been around since Eclair if I remember right.

You need to seriously reconsider what you've done here. You cannot take someone's creation, try to hide their name from it, & then present it to the world as if it's yours, & even asking people for thanks for it. It is not just completely wrong morally, but it might also be a serious infraction of XDA policy. This type of behavior should have you banned.
As benefit of doubt, perhaps you just weren't aware of what you've done??? It is wrong. Please delete this thread & be more careful of such things in the future.

Agreed - It's the 1.51 version that IS on the Play store and then advertised as 2.1....

Has the original developer (PT from the play store) dropped this app?
I, for one, would like to see the actual speed displayed in the status bar. Icon updates would be nice too.

These WILL NOT WORK.. You must receive a invite from Ms to be a tester . once you install the apps when they start they verify your status.
ALSO Someone posted link to the apps in the Thread I started. (not sure why you started a new one) MS Messaged him and told him to TAKE DOWN THE APP LINKS..
Just giving you a heads up.. Read in the other Thread

Yes there are some post on the yammer Forum about this . Some are having trouble getting the d/load links after they get the Tester approval email. Some have reported that they open the email With IE ON THERE Desktop. then push the apps to there Device from play store..
In the email there is a Button at the bottom Below the app links. You must click that before you will get the links to download. That button should be above the apps..

I tested them on my father's note 3 and they worked well after changing resolution but I don't enter microsoft account

Welcome TO XDA.. Preview- pre release software and distributing it can sometimes be a Gray area. BUT With Microsoft. They frown on seeing it anywhere except on there site. This is so they can track users and User hardware its being ran on....
I Do not care about the extra thread being created. XDA mods are the ones who get upset over that at times. I was just trying to save you the hassle of MS Or xda taking your links down ..
Its all Good.. We all have to be careful when it comes to software and apps Links.

I have a tablet provided by my company for my work as agebt/seller with all company stuffs, it has a normal Android original rom, ita a galaxy 10.1 gtn8000 with Android 4.1.2
Im allowed to use it for my personal use (they said go on youporn but not when u are working lol) but I'm forced by the company to use my private Gmail account to use playstore, so my mail are both on phone and tablet, they shouldn't watch at it because of privacy but I have many reasons to think they do it constantly, tablet has remote control enabled due to let theme install updates of working stuffs
Well how can I check what they do when access to my tablet? I googled so much but I only find ways to check if gf is cheating lol I need to see what they do on my device hehe
Any advice? Any program that records screen when I'm not using it (usually they do updates at night time

Thx for ur answer... But I don't understand what do u mean lol its not related a single app, they have access to the whole tablet by remote (authorised in security options for remote access)
