F*ck Sense, it's crap, and 3.0 didn't really improve much over 2.3 or w/e the last version was. Why would you want some bloatcrap on our vanilla devices? It's useless. I think you should be more concerned with a proper Gingerbread build that works which we should be getting soon once it gets released ;D

whats wrong with people liking sense. or wanting it if someone is good enough to port it.
i like the galaxy-s style widget on the pull down but didn't want the phones that came with it normally.
isn't that why we make or run custom roms to add stuff that didn't come with our phones.
some wouls say if you want a phone to run at 1500 than buy a phone that sells at 1500 . same difference. people want options and some like sense , also why cm has made lockscreens that mimic sense's because people like it.

1. There is already a topic about this.
2. There is NO WAY to run the phone without Sense UI without installing a custom ROM. Sense UI is highly integrated into the OS. The video that you see is the EVO running launcher2.apk instead of Rosie.apk (the Sense home app). This is nothing new or exciting, so I wish people would stop making damn topics about it.

I always used to hate sense, but then after looking very close at this phone, I have to admit i love it now! Just getting more and more psyched for this phone every time i see it. I think if everyone took their time to look in to sense ui, they would end up liking it a lot like myself.

For many this is true. For others, I suspect there are multiple motivations for wanting a pure android. I suspect most fall into one or more of 3 categories.
They may want pure as the driven snow Open Source Android
They might want as few of what they don't need as possible for increased resources
They simply don't like the HTC and it's prettiness

I like Android Sense. Makes the transition from WM6.5 Sense a lot smother for me
I dont think anyone would deny that fact that Sense looks amazing. I just want to shut it off to save my battery. From what i hear, sense is quite the juice hog.

You won't save much battery if you turn Sense off. Unless you just have pages full of self updating widgets or something.

Or at least sense with the stock 2.2 launcher. I actually like the default contacts and messaging apps for sense. Not to mention the clock is way better too, and camera has tap to focus. One thing AOSP has for me though is the look, the white and orange are very appeasing for some reason.
im jus hopeing HTC keeps their promise of updating the SUPERSONIC in july to FROYO 2.2(love the UI).gonna love the phone even more.

I don't think they promised anything at any date, other than that most handsets made after 2010 will get 2.2... no specific dates were set..maybe i am wrong and please link me if i am..

hhmm, goofy quote, I'll say that.
HTC Sense is "attractive", but not for everyone.
The first time I played with Sense was on a Hero ROM on my G1. Then again with the Desire ROM on my Nexus.
Even with the Nexus speed increase, it was definitely NOT sexy.
I really like the Plain Jane look of Android™ raw.

I'm gonna go out on a limb (NOT) and pronounce we'll have ROMS with Sense 3.0 within the next 10 days, at latest, running out TB's!
There is a Guy at the evo section porting this already. Tmartin or something. He said yhr system file was 580mb no wonder it won't work on some phone. Plus where's our gingerbread leak lol seems like every other phone is having a hood day today.

THank you Mr. Troll Sir... but as a matter of fact, I have already rooted my TB and used several different ROMS (Currently BAMF 1.6.3)
I just had a question that I wasn't quite sure of cause I'm not hip to the Lingo that's all =) It was really the "Sensed" part that I wasnt sure of. I'm very capable of figuring that the "DE" in "DESENSED" means they removed somthing... just didn't know what...

Yeah it really just comes down to preference. I used to really like the sense ui but being that a lot of it is just social integration, which I don't really use, I prefer using an AOSP (android open source project) rom like cyanogenmod. Sense also uses a lot of system resources so when you use a rom without it you should notice better performance and battery life.

All of you people are making the Dev's run away from the Sidekick 4G , they were willing to do work without the actual phone & now there not doing anything . There is 3 thread's of these open now & it get's dev's upset when you ask ETA or a Request , If you want a HTC Sense look alike Download HeLauncher & use the HTC Sense Skin & get a HTC Clock .

You'll never have Sense on the Sidekick 4G. If the Nexus S is closely related then maybe, otherwise no. And just like Revolution said, there were people willing to do work without the actual phone. I was going to, then I opted to buy the phone but after seeing this community i decided, hell no.
Yeah from the looks of it I don't even believe well even see a gingerbread rom or miui or cm7 at this rate. What a shame because I feel like ill have to get the mt4gs now.

He simply asked a question, it's his right, when people ask questions, it shows interest and points a direction for people to go in right? Not possible, same reason TW won't come to HTC phones.
Even if it were, there's no dev out there doing the porting work anyways.
Drivers and everything else are completely different so it would be a hard task.

it is possible, as raver said before in other threads, but it would cause a lot of unnecessary problems. it is just easier in the long run to avoid it all together
could do it given time since i dont own eather device so id have to port from a device i never deved on to a device i deved on but dont own lol... It would be hard porting from the sensation, the resolution is higher and you have to do a lot of m10 editing. Sense 3 is cool but it is a memory hog the files are huge to download well over 300 plus megabytes. I know because i have virtuous unity with sense 3 on my mytouch 4g.

Zeam Launcher is a lightweight one, not too bad. LauncherPro is nice and very customizable just like GO Launcher and ADW. I personally like Zeam.
