Virtual button bar better then button savior and softkeys - Android Apps and Games

Just though I would let every one know about virtual button bar from my experience its by far the best button app replacement. Just like button savior but more options also can activate buttons via light sensor.Check it out @ https://market.android.com/details?id=opotech.virtualbuttonbar

I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for $1.60 (minus 30% to Google) for 3000+ lines of handwritten (and tested) code, graphics, icon, supporting docs and user support. Most paid apps on the market are great value for money when you consider the skill needed and time spent on them. Not to mention all the fantastic free apps.
I made this app by the way

I need an app/hack that jumps to "leap view" w/ 1 tap of home.

Id love to see how it feels to instantly "leap" w/ one hit of the home button.
Dont know if this can be dont w/out Root. Hopefully, one of us knows of an app that can do it already. Or maybe someone can code/hack it.
Maybe I should drop this in Dev department? Maybe I should just hit up all the forms?
Thanks a googolplex in advance,

yeah. so instead of one tap of home then swipe, or two tap of home then pick, its just one tap home and pick. I think that how macs do it now a days with expose, right?
If mines already on the home screen it only takes one tap....why 1 instead of 2? Your THAT lazy you want someone to design an apk that edits the amount of taps required?

1. Didn't ask for someone to come along and state the obvious.
2. Because 1 is less then 2.
3. Yes, yes I am. especially since that cuts my taps down by 50%.
Seriously, i find it hella annoying that i have to go to the main home screen before i can go to the on that i want. just reverse the order. make one tap go to leap view, and two taps go to main home. I see mac users doing this all the time with expose, and it looks awesome.
It's shouldn't be hard. Just look in leap. Should be able to switch. Lemme go look and see what I can do for you.
What about if you actually want to end on the homepage? If it changed I would believe that would require two taps now instead of the one, its kinda of a toss up.
I wish we could press and hold the menu button to bring up the app drawer. Having android so long I am not used to hitting the bottom left for the Apps but having used DxTop I did get accustom to pressing and holding menu to bring up the Apps

Did this topic really validate a new thread? Is it really necessary to act like a douchebag and knock other members on here for trying to help out? If your going to act like a child, take it somewhere else.
Ok? I dont really see how I came off as not sincere. Not after i clearly stated... "I was super stoked on that. Thanks again."
There is a new launcher in the market right now that im using it works great.it called launcherpro.
I would install "home switcher"also in the market. That way while you are setting up your new layout you can go back and fourth. Without being interrupted by that a default prompt.
Launcher pro has single tap of home button that brings up the leap view, and it also has pinch to leap. With added gesture of dialer, contacts, internet, and messages at the bottom of every page.
Also it has a app launcher similar to the N1. Without the 3d cube effect.
Very responsive worth a try, only downfall is none of the htc widgets work while using this launcher. Bc their widgets are tired in to it.
I use the flip clock from the market, its customizable.and dolphin hd with their bookmarks widget and the friendstream app , that way it still has a sense feel to it.

Works well for me- it still has HTC Sense loaded in the background, which I'm sure if you turned it off would make it run even faster... but it works nonetheless.
I've been using it for two weeks no lag. Rosie is nice for awhile but the widgets are just too big. Plus I get bored quick, and having their widgets on my old eris for six months was enough for me.

Keyboard from Donut

I really love the keyboard we had on Donut, the one from SE, i was wondering if someone of u guys have it somewere? , if u do, please could you share it?
Regards
I would be grateful for that application as well. This new keyboard is not bad, but its not as as good as the old one on which I'm used to. So please, if some of you have it, upload it for us.
Thanks

If you only use the arrow buttons to move the cursor there is now a better way. Just tap the text, it will then appear on the "suggestion's bar". Now slide the bar left or right to move the cursor.

Favorite HOX features.

This is a thread to list some cool things you like about the phone. Maybe point out a few things that other people didn't know yet.
For me I would have to say that the keyboard is awesome. Also the fact that it already has a printer option built in. Voice recognition on this phone is awesome. And of course face recognition is great too.

I've been a Swype user since the Nexus One, but I have to say that the Trace feature on the HTC keyboard is impressive. It's noticeably quicker to render words after swyping/tracing. Only downside I've noticed is you can't place the cursor on previous words and choose alternate suggestions. Unless I'm missing an option for this.
Ha. And I though it was an improved swype this whole time
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Interesting comment about the keyboard. I'll be receiving my HOX today but most reviews say the HTC keyboard is ****. Seeing the entire row of arrows on the bottom leads me to agree (but then again, I haven't used it yet). How does it compare to the stock ICS keyboard? I don't like Swype so I'm sure I won't ever use that feature.

About that. I tried using the face detect to lock my screen and at first i thought to myself, man does this work well.
Then for fun I had my dad look at the camera and guess what, the phone unlocked itself for him too. Now I know we look somewhat alike, but not that close.
Long story short, I wouldn't trust that feature..

My favorite feature is definitely the screen! I can't keep my eyes off of it. I do not like the HTC Sense keyboard and for those of you that also do not like it you can go to the Play Store and download the stock ICS keyboard and it works great on the One X. It is much more similar to the iPhone keyboard that I am used to and is spaced further apart than stock sense keyboard. Also, you get more screen room for viewing while texting or writing messages if you use the stock ICS keyboard.

From what I can tell, by swiping the recent application does not close the application. I have opened several apps and then hit the home button then the recent applications button and swiped them... then opened up the apps again and they are right back where I left them. I think it only deletes the recent app bookmark and not closes the app itself.

If I had a phone that didn't have the physical and/or capacitive buttons I would love it...Otherwise I have 2 sets of buttons doing the same thing...no dice.
I bought the S III because of the Home button. I like physical buttons. I'm surprised so many people post they like virtual buttons. My gut tells me this is a geek phenomenon and that most regular people would NOT like virtual buttons as much. Buttons are just more discoverable and quicker to use without looking. i.e. the car. And we as power users are a minority as customers. Maybe if S Voice was perfect I guess we wouldn't need physical buttons as much but that'll be a while before it happens. I have a feeling Samsung has studied this plenty and they know what they're doing..
As an example of what I mean by voice replacing buttons... I finally do not miss the camera button... CAPTURE! CHEESE! I LOOOOOOOOOOVE Touch Wiz!!! Lets you take pictures of stuff high above you and you can shout Capture in Jelly bean!!!

Floating Recent Apps Button for phones with hardware buttons

I have created this little app out of frustration with the hardware buttons on my Galaxy S3. I don't really mind the back, menu, or Home button implementations but I am really annoyed because of the implementation of the recent apps. On a Galaxy S3, we all know that one has to press the hardware home key for a while to open the recent apps view. This greatly hampers multitasking and, honestly, it even turned me off of the idea of multitasking using the recent apps view.
But I recently used a friend's Galaxy Nexus and found that the recent apps view was not only very convenient to switch between apps, but also very effective. And the convenience was amplified by the fact that the recent apps button was ever present on the phone's screen. So I decided to implement something similar for my phone.
I came across STANDOUT , a library made by Mark Wei (xda member pingpongboss) which perfectly suited my needs for this app and made creating this app a breeze. Thanks a lot Mark!!
So here is my app called "FLYING RECENTS". It is a floating button that does nothing but open the default recent apps view. It is draggable via the handle attached at its bottom, it is semi-transparent so as to not be too distracting, and it can be closed by clicking its notification in the notification shade. Go ahead. Give it a try. I am sure people with hardware buttons will appreciate the utility of this app once they use it. Do offer suggestions if any, and I will try to incorporate them into the app as much as i can.
Made for a Galaxy S3. Ideal use case is for phones like Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S4, etc. All phones with hardware buttons running Android 4.0+ benefit from this app.
UPDATE: Version 1.01 includes a better looking drag handle. Thanks to pratyush997 for the suggestion!!
UPDATE: Version 1.02 includes a transparent notification bar icon.

Very very nice, been looking for a while for something like this.
I have a suggestion Don't u think it would be more practical and less obstructive if it was more like a gesture based launcher (like swipepad, sidebarpro).
We set it up that once u swipe from the home button upwards the screen, it will launch the recent apps. I've tried many apps but none were perfect for that simple task.
Thx for the nice app, would be appreciated if u can consider my suggestion.

Trust me it was my original aim to make this app just like that (i.e. dragging the button itself) but I cannot for the life of me make it draggable. That is why I had to include the handle. Feel free to suggest any coding workarounds if you can. It would greatly benefit me.
Useful app! May I suggest the addition of floating 'back', Home', 'menu' buttons as well?
