I'm somewhat new to hacking and modding. And I'm reading a lot, as well as playing with my phone a lot. I happened to extract the framework-res file to my sd card.
What are all the things I could customize with playing with that file?

Anything you want. The easiest thing is editing the png so you change the system appearance. But you don't have to extract it to SD, you have to send it to your PC, decompile it (for .9.png's and xml, if just png you can extract the folder, then put the edited png's back in the apk with 7zip and push), and do whatever you want.
You will need to look for info about decompiling and pushing if you don't know yet.

Fonts are not in framework. They are in system/fonts, so you can go to the zip of your current ROM in the PC, open it, go to system/fonts and copy them. Then paste them into the zip of the new ROM or flash it, then push the fonts. (If you can, it will be easier doing it before flashing, with WinRAR or 7zip in computer)

You could upload the file you extracted to the uot kitchen (google it, i cannot provide links).
The site allows to create a theme for your phone and to package it in a flashable .zip

For matching the colors you can use any app that lets you choose a custom color. I used widgetsoid, chose a custom color that matched my theme and wrote down the hex value. You can then use the hex value in the uot kitchen.

Well, I took a snapshot of my homescreen. Uploaded it to a color extractor, and pulled the hex value through there. Used that hex value with UOT kitchen, and the colors still weren't the same after I flashed it...

At the bottom of this post you will find a download link to a zip containing all the themes that the sidekick came with.
Some people may be on a custom ROM like Smooth Maximus and dont have the themes, or just removed them and want them back.
This is just so no one has to go through the trouble of downloading a stock ROM the searching through all the system apps to find the themes themselves . So i've decided to package em together for ya.
This is not flashable so you have to unzip them and use a root file manager (root explorer, super manager ect.) and push them to System/app. You Need to be rooted or it wont push the apps.

this is great ill push them through with the ginger clone!

I can easily change the wallpaper with Android wallpaper options, but the color schemes can be difficult to read with some color combos (like black text on dark green background).
Thanks for posting these!

Hey i pulled these directly from ayoteddy's stock deodexed rom. All you have to do is push them to your system apps directory and restart your phone. Tested on my phone. Can someone reupload please?
Hey everyone just wanted to post this and let everyone decide if they would like to use them. I recently did a google search and found a large file in filetube that had hundredes of flashable .ttf fonts. So I went through them all and made this file that is to be used with Font Changer from the market. There is a free and a donate version. Please consider buying the Devs donate version because it is a very handy tool and he has done a very good job with this app. Below are the steps to apply these. Very easy and Enjoy.
Steps
1-Download the fontchanger file that I have here. Fonts folder
2-Install Font Changer from Market.
3-Un-zip the downloaded file, in it is a folder named .fontchanger.
4-Move the .fontchanger file to root of sdcard.
5- Now start Font Changer again and all of your new fonts will be there and able to install.
6- Reboot phone as the popup will ask and enjoy.
Huge thanks to mayfield103 for providing me with the folder that I lost...sorry about that guys.
Works perfectly! Many thanks.....
Thank you for this! I have used font Changer before and know how to get those on there, unless you had those already I would say that took you some time, so thank again! Awesome job!

Thanks and font viewers
Thanks for putting those together, that was a lot of work. Here are a couple of font viewers for Windows if you want to see what the fonts look like.
Font Runner - not portable but very good
dp4 Font Viewer - portable version
Also, if you set the font preview size to 12px or 14px (for the programs above) it will give you a better idea of what the fonts will look when installed.
I will add a link to this in my theme thread if that's okay.

Requested Clocktopia
So here is the requested clocktopia font. But it is not going to give you the font you are looking for I believe. The honeycomb tablets use two different fonts for the clock that is displayed. One parts is the non highlighted parts and the other is the highlighted parts. Together these fonts look good but seperate they are of no use. Will keep looking to see if I can find something that may work. I did find a tread over in the EVO section of someone requesting a honeycomb font and the reply was that there was a font created but because some one the letters look awful the font was never published. I have alos found one that was missing some letters so I won't publish that one either. The atteached file is NOT actually a .zip file. I just renamed it from .ttf to .zip so that I could upload here. Just rename back to .ttf and change the clocktopia to what ever you would like.
EDIT: Just found this other one that does have the honeycomb style numbers. But letters are a bit off. Just rename this file to .ttf as well.
dude thanx a lot, ive installed and deleted this app a bunch of times trying to get it to work, never got it til now, u have it so easily done and got us a bunch of fonts, thanx a lot, working perfect

One way to change the look of the soft-buttons, is to use adb or a file-manager to pull SystemUI.apk from /system/app and then edit png images to make them your own. And then push it back. That's what I did. Do a search on themeing android to find more in-depth tutorials.

Everything that needs to be edited is in drawable-mdpi folder the files to replace start with 'ic' the easiest way to do it is using 7-zip, name your replacement image the same as the image you want to replace and then drag and drop your images into the apk into the drawable-mdpi folder. And then your good to go.

how to get this????????????????
I was able to get this done with ease.
Copied the systemui file, moved it to my computer, renamed ZIP, extracted to a folder. Opened up the files i wanted edited in Photoshop. I made them Transparent PNGs so they would work with any theme that changes the graphic of the status bar.
saved files, zipped up folder. used RootExplorer to Back up systemui. It caused a Foreclose loop. Rebooted, with no status bar. Back into RE, copied the modified systemui, set permissions, and rebooted.

Ok so I just have a quick question about theming. How do I change the text color on the lockscreen? I'm pretty sure I have to edit one of the .xml files, but which one and how? And do I have to actually decompile the .apk to edit it or can I just pull it using 7zip and edit it that way? I already have edited the actual .pngs for the lockscreen, so if anyone can help me out with this it would be great. Oh and this is with the stock deodexed rom.
I'm not sure where its located but it will be an xml file and you will need to decompile wherever it lays. Try androidpolicy.jar and look in there..

Yes. Use the .dex file for the alpha level and just change the statusbar_background.png to the desired transparency level and thats it . Just remember to add @color/transparent to the date background, otherwise it will show when you expand the statusbar and add the proper change from #ff000000 to @drawable/statusbar_background.
