So I'm usually looking forward to flashing a non-stock ROM ASAP but noticed that the branded app store has some nice perks. E.g. unlimited shazam for a year, reduced prices for some apparently (jenga), etc...
Anyone else considering sticking with stock to keep these goodies?

Personnel I don't think its worth it, and if you did want the benefits I would take advantage of them and back them up then flash.
soundhound is better IMO, and the free is unlimited.
shazam was announced that it would be free for a year... but yes soundhound is waaaaaaaaay better that shazam... i have both though.
But shazam sounds better.

It does have a catchy name and color schemes but soundhound outperforms shazam

Getting the AT&T branded market back on custom roms is as simple as editing a couple lines in the default.prop file, so that's not a good reason to stay stock.

I'm talking about the ability to bill market apps to your ATT bill. It used to be an option when you were on the checkout screen but not anymore. At least with my inspire.

I have been searching for ages a workable apk of it on my g2x. The best version I tried loads up fine but freezes in the intro and then have to kill the app. Can someone post a fully working version? to my knowledge, this game is free. If so, postblink please. Thanks.
It was free for one day only on amazon. It's the price of a cheese-burger for crying out loud, just buy it.

How do you text other countries and only get charged normal rates or nothing????
U.S.A. to VENEZUELA
Any ideas? How to do this???
I like to explore all the free options first. Then any paid options after that.
My job will pay for any apps or service that I have to add to my phone.

I know with Google Voice you can text Canadian numbers for free. That's the only international texting they support right now though.
Something like kik maybe? If not then hopefully your trying to reach canada.
Unfortunately, t-mobile charges an extra 5ยข for every additional unnecessary question mark used. :/
So careful with that.

I pay an extra $5 a month and that gives me unlimited text to something like 100-150 countries... I would use kik messenger, pingchat or liveprofile to send messages but almost everyone I know abroad uses BBM (for the free text messaging capabilities)... I hope RIM releases BBM for android soon
Actually to Venezuela.
My job nominated me figuring I had a such a hi tech phone.
And that I could figure it out, And make it work.
I have to keep in contact and keep in touch with my contact in Venezuela via text messages.
Then I have to forward text messages to my boss.
It's a long complicated story.

I tried to find the list of supported countries on the website but it only showed the rates withoout the plan..
You can call T-Mobile and ask about Venezuela and they will tell you in a second if it is one of those countries that is in the unlimited messaging (I have unlimited domestic messaging ie... even more plus 500 min, unlimited text and data before the 2gb throttle btw)
Ok will do tomorrow. Thanks for looking.

Just a heads up for everyone. Todays free app is Swiftkey X which is normally $3.99. I know this should've went in themes and apps but thought more people would benefit from it here. Mods feel free to move it.

Only if i could expand the spacebar.
Otherwise good keyboard with good predictions

I will report back after a fair trial. I did use the SwiftKey beta for a day or two a while back. I'll try to give this a fair shake.
I suppose it's pretty good for two-handed texting, but Swype is far better for one handed texting.. which is what I do 95% of the time. So I'll be sticking with Swype - the 3.0 version themed with a white skin from the Ninja rom is awesome.

It's free for a day. Not a trial. It's a purchase that Amazon subsidizes. I have obtained several usually paid apps since they started this "Free Today" thing. I get updates for the Apps just as if I had forked over the mula for them.

$15 for a launcher? no thanks.. Especially one that only has 2 themes and doesn't work with most home screen widgets. Reading the reviews show that the launcher lacks a lot of features you get in other launchers.
I'm normally open to give most anything a try, but $15 is ridiculous.
Well it is a new launcher, so in time it may get better
