Hello,
I was trying to root my Nexus S, and in the mean time don't know what failed, but now I cannot boot.
If I boot normally, pressing the power button, it gets stucks in the screen showing "Google" and nothing happens.
I can access the recovery menu if I press the volume up button while pressing the power button. I tried to reload images and recover from them, but it always get stucks in the image of the android with the exclamation.
My question is, does any of you know how I can repair my booting? At this point I don't care if I lose the root or not.
Thank you!
The exclamation is probably the stock recovery do you know how to use ADB

seems like you never flashed to stock or bad flash try full wipe and flash either rooted stock or custom rom
Didn't help, no useful solution in that thread, however will keep an eye there if something new comes up.
Anyone experienced the same problem ?

in clockwork mod
-advanced-wipe dalvik cache
but from root and stuck on bootloop you might need to reflash the rooted stock rom. it is usually PDxx.IMG what root method did you use? did you get any errors?
I got no errors.
I already tried to flash with several differents .img, but none worked so far... I tried really a lot differents. Always get stuck at booting.

Hello!
If you see the triangle and ! when you go into recovery, then you just need to flash clockworkmod recovery. Then you can flash a ROM.
if your in clockwork do full wipe then flash new img i always do this order
-mounts and storage
-format /cache
-format /data
-format /system
-back to advanced
-wipe dalvik cache
-wipe battery stats
-*****go back****
-wipe data/factory reset
-now flash rom
already tried, didn't work... nothing happens
the same happens, still get stuck during booting....
after wipe do you see rom install

Mine has done this twice since I have gotten my phone. The way was able to get it back working is by doing a hard reset (holding the power and lower volume button until the android Guy is showing ) this gets it back to working for me hope it helps
I will try but i think that gets me into my clockwork mod recovery. thanks

i did that to still no luck but when i did get into to wipe dalvik cache it says this E: unkown volume for path [/sd-ext] just before i press the yes to accept if that means anything. I never seen that b 4
I would remove external sd card and then reflash the stock ROM again making sure you clear all caches and see what happens...really not sure what else to do if you're stuck in boot loop

No luck! its still the same. it seems like it wants to work and if quick i can open up menus no problem then it just reboots. i think it has something to do with my internal memory
Ok, So i rooted my T-mobile G2x 2.3.3 and there were difficulties when i flashed the Cyanogen 7mod. The Rom worked but the only default was i didnt get data. Like i couldnt even get Edge. The only way to use internet and stuff was through wifi. SO then i reflashed it thinking it was a bad flash. But when i reflash through rom manager it gives me the option to downoad with google apps. so i clicked that option. It downloaded fine but on the reboot it stayed stuck on the 2nd LG screen. Am i bricked or if anyone can help id appreciate it alot.
U can't do it via rom manager. U have to flash recovery using nv flash, then u can try to flash custom rom. Remeber to wipe data and format system before flashing any rom.
U r not bricked yet
Check here to nv flash the cwm

Did you flash CWM via NV Flash. If not, do that. Then boot into recovery by holding down the power + volume down keys until you get the second boot logo. Then wipe the dalvik cache and the regular cache. That is usually why a phone refuses to boot.
Also, if your phone turns on it is not bricked. Bricked means when you press the power button nothing happens at all. You can be soft-bricked like you are, but it can be easily fixed. Nothing to panic about.
I did all of that im sorry if i gave you info wrong. Like i cant do anything it turns on but goes to the first LG screen then goes to the new LG screen with the blue streaks and it stays there. Then when i try to go into CWR it shows the LG with a blue and black loading bar below then shows as if its loading something then it just goes back to the blue LG screen and im stuck there.

You have stock recovery on the recovery partition, not CWM. You MUST flash CWM onto the physical recovery partition using NVFlash with the One Click flasher. You used Rom Manager and that doesn't install CWM onto the recovery partition. Once you have CWM properly installed you can enter recovery and revive your phone.

@OP, this is is correct. Use tga gunmann's nvflash tool from the development section. The process is super easy. Just make sure to follow his instructions closely. Just fyi, most people get errors during the nvflash process because they don't install the apx drivers appropriately, so take your time and read the instructions carefully.

Start off by wiping cache and then go to Advanced and wipe dalvik cache. If you still can't boot after that then try a full factory reset.
Just remember the first boot after wiping dalvik cache can take several minutes as android rebuilds the dalvik cache. All subsequent reboots will be MUCH faster.

Did you do as phburks said and go into advanced and wipe the Dalvik Cache. Most issues of not booting are related to the Dalvik Cache not being wiped after flashing a new rom. That is essential to getting your phone to boot again. A factory reset DOES NOT clear the Dalvik Cache.

The reason I ask is that with cm7 you have to flash 2 separate zip files. First you flash the actual cm7 zip which installs the rom and then you flash the gapps zip which installs the Google apps (market, gmail, etc). Make sure you have both on your sdcard and then flash the rom first and gapps second.

Im glad you brought that up because when i first flashed Cyanogen i did also flash gapps but after i flashed gapps thats when i wouldnt get data. Do you know the reason for this? or was it could have been another bad flash?

Not sure. I'd just play it safe, re-download both, wipe data, and reflash both. Sometimes its hard to determine which step went wrong and its best and quicker to just start with a clean slate and redo everything.
I wont be able to post for a while so good luck.
hi so here is what happend i installed sabotage 1.7 a couple a weeks ago and it worked fine so i oc to 800 and still worked fine. so i was playing on my phone the whole night and noticed i didnt had batery so i thought i would charge it on morning . i waked up and charge it while being off so i left and done some work with my dad and when i came back i wanted to start it . it started i typed my pin and all of the sudden it shout done i starded it again but this time it stuck at the boot image/amination for some time . i entered recovery mode (cwm v5) and wanted to clear all data and fully formated it but it wont format data. so i tried to flash a stock rom (xxkpu) but it gotten stuck at the boot animation i flashed cwm v5 and tried to fully format everything but it still gotten stuck at the format data . i tried with several stock roms like xwkti xxkpq and my original stock rom xwkpq3 but none worked
so if somebody has any ideeas that would be wonderfull

Hey, seem to be having an issue with CM10 on my Miro. So I flashed boot.img using fastboot -i0x0fce flash boot boot.img.
Then flashed CM10 FXP 10 (and also after trying FXP10 tried FXP15) using CWM v6
Now when I lock the screen it randomly reboots. At first I thought it was a charging issue as it happened when I charged but yesterday it was doing it throughout the day. I would just go to check for messages and it would either be off or the LED would flash different colours then it would reboot. seems fine for anywhere between 1/2 hour - two hours between reboots
Cheers for any help guys
have you overlocked to high? If not backup your apps & data boot to CWM then navigate mounts & storage. /format data /format cache /format system. then reflash rom reboot and see if thats worked.

Sometimes if you get stuck on the boot logo and it never fully boots, simply clearing the cache and dalvik cache in CWM or TWRP can fix it. (Might throw in fixing permissions as well.)
