[Q] Galaxy S i9000 CyanogenMod - Samsung Infuse 4G

So, I was perusing the CyanogenMod forums (anxiously awaiting CM for Infuse) and saw that hey have a stable build for the i9000. Anyways, since the CWM that's working with the Infuse is for the i9000, any chance the CyanogenMod for the i9000 would also work on the Infuse?

Exact same answer in the MIUI question. Miui for SGS is based on CM7.

No because of the Kernel modules(drivers). The Mobile Linux kernel is very robust and well devloped, and I know the "Generic" Drivers will probally start the Display and Input but Samsung has alot of the drivers "Closed source". Gps mainly wouldnt work. And just cause the partition table is the same layout, I assure you , that is where the only similar trait resides.

[Q] difference between vibrant and sgs4g

I wonder what is the difference between vibrant and sgs4g as i have seen a post which shows how to port vibrant roms to sgs4g.there i have seen that only storage is swapped and kernel and modem obviously,wifi,rild,etc..
are these changes enough to port any vibrant rom to sgs4g?
help please as i am trying to port a vibrant rom to sgs4g
i ported the miui rom from vibrant to sgs4g today
why cant we try porting vibrant's ics rom to our phone then? please reply
ICS is being worked on by more than one dev. Give it a little more time.
i know that thomas raines is porting an ics rom from nexus s but my point is why cant we try porting ics from vibrant which is almost similar phone like us

[Q] What's the best 4.0.4 custom ROM for Galaxy S (One not Two) Vibrant

I have searched the forums and there are a few ROMs out there. I've tried ExROM, but it is a port and looks like it hasn't been worked on in over a month or so.... So, anybody have experience with another, perhaps one that is compiled from source for Vibrant?
Elite rom
I've used most ICS roms for galaxy s I find this to be the most stable and fast http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1621976
Edit: Ah sorry didn't see vibrant bit, CM9 official might be your best best
Please search before opening a new thread. If you had you would have seen there is no best rom. Only best for you as each rom will work differently on each device.

Building AOKP roms from ground up tutorial?

Hello everyone,
My device is a galaxy tab 7 plus and we currently have a fully functional CM9 build working perfectly. I've been following a few guides on how to port AOKP to this device and non of the guides worked. I also read that cm9 and AOKP are one of the same. So if u get one to work the other should easily. But it doesn't seem to be working. So I figured maybe porting won't work. Maybe I have to build it from ground up. So are there any tutorials on how to do so? Or is there a way I can bring the RomControl menu to the current cm9 build?

you should double check the device can run AOKP, it may not even be supported. And building from the ground up is probably a little excessive
Well the devs in the galaxy tab 7 plus section ported cm9 and its working fine but there are only two devs and they both said they have no interest in making AOKP work on our device. The device shares the same hardware as the galaxy s2. I've compiled a couple of builds and mad a logcat and they all pointed at the audio drivers and some other problem. So far I couldn't get passed the boot screen... so I thought maybe I should stop trying to port but start trying to build. I mean I've seen so many devices that have lower specs then this device running aokp so I don't think specs are an issue here..

Really depends on what your looking to do with your phone... AOKP, Cyanogen, Paranoid android... Then your going to want a kernel to back it up. I personally use Franco nightlies but thats just what I like, you'll have to experiment with dozens of them to find whats best. Obviously if you don't already have CWM or TWRP installed you'll want to do that and make your life so much easier. I haven't checked to see if Paranoid android has released an s3 specific Rom but im using version 3+ on my galaxy nexus with franco kernel r364 right now and its fantastic. Do a quick search for it on here, Loads of customization.

Vanir Rom for S3?

I did a quick search for this, but would anyone happen to know if someone is working / building port of the Vanir rom? I have it on my nexus devices and it is fast as hell...
Thanks!
No as the phone it is for has lower specs then the s3. As of now the following ROMs can be ported to the phone are s3 ROMs from other carriers and Note 2 ROMs. MIUI can also be ported to the phone. So far only one note 2 ROM has been ported to this device
If your looking for fast, try out the Hyperdrive ROM.

Wait, I'm confused. Vanir is an AOSP based Rom, so there shouldn't be that much other than adding in the stuff specific to the S3, right? The Vanir Rom (or at least what I know of it) is on the N7, N4 and the GNexus...
I guess I'm a bit confused.
Put it this way no one is planning to port it to the s3 if they were it would've been here by now.
Hm...I guess in that case: Do any of you guys know of any good guides for porting AOSP roms over? I tried following one way back when when I had a rezound and CM10 first came out but never got too deep in it. Figure it is worth a shot, I've got a Ubuntu VM waiting to go...
Before you do that you must seek the permission from the developers.
To port something over from github / source?
Now I'm officially confused.
