I just wanted to share with you all my custom status bar, honeycomb style battery mod and drop down window for all GINGERBREAD & FROYO GSM roms with CWR except cm7 (I will make one if interest arrives)
CDMA users: SOMEONE SEND ME A STOCK FRAMEWORK.APK
I took the gingerbread overcome gold theme and icons and changed some things.
Thanks to the overcome gold guys.
Thanks to mendozinas for making most of this possible.
Here is what I changed.
*BatteryMod - changed it to a colorful blue hybrid Honeycomb style icon, that shows percentage, and changes progressively from red (low batt) to yellow, light blue then a darker blue. Appears on your lockscreen also.
*Window Animation - TAKEN OUT, BACK TO STOCK AMINAMTIONS upon request.
*Changed overscroll glow colors to custom light blue, dropped transparency of windows
* Status bar icons are now blue
*Status bar - changed background
*Status bar time is now blue. so are written notifications. New blue status bar system radio icons
*Dropped transparency of carrier label
*Customized the Drop down window. window is 0%, also altered style and color of Notification bar, header is transparent now. Made Background transparent around 4 service icons its now blue on black with white text for ongoing items, instead if black on black, dropped transparency
* made the colors more uniform
*A few more things.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL GSM USERS
ALLWAYS do a nandroid backup of anything you change, so you can revert easily. I prefer cwr backups.
Have cwr
Just download correct version and place on sd card. (BlueBarMod ZIP is for gingerbread and FROYO ZIP is, well.......)
flash in CWR.
use fix permissions option.
Reboot and enjoy

Installed on Overcome RC1 (Haven't gone Gold yet... still doesn't seem quite right)
Everything looks GREAT! No offense to AB86 or the Overcome team, but the notification bar on RC1 was not functional. This looks great, and I love the animations! The new clock font for the lockscreen is pretty cool too.
All in all, 9 stars out of 10
Also... since you obviously know the answer to life , the universe and everything("42"), I wont mention what I think would make it a 10/10

Rule #1 of flashing ANYTHING. Nandroid first, flash second.
You need to reflash your stock ROM most likely... Unless you can piece together what changes where made and rewrite your framework.... Yeah, that'd be fun :/ Or if you have a Nandroid, use it... But if it's not recent, you'll loose any changes since the backup.
Fantastic work mate. Genuinely different from most I have come across and fun too!! The fonts very cool I think, not sure about its longevity but for now I'm enjoying it.

I have a sprint tab.can this work, looks great.iam rooted,how do I flash.dont think I have clockwork rocovey.cant seem to be able to flash it.can I flash in rom manager useing the verizon clockwork.thanks.P.S. New to tap but flashed my vibrant many many times.so I understand some stuff.

anything you want changed? I know the window animation isnt for everyone. try spare parts to make the animation much faster.

You want everything back to stock? check back in about an hour or so.

Good work man. Just a tip and a request. First add an extra step of fixing permissions after flashing this in tabs that has other modded themes otherwise it will flash but wont be applied on boot.
As for the request (you did say you were open for change). Can we have the notification area clear instead of white grid (hehe reminds me of primary school math notebooks).

I decided to do my own based off of JD's and Original Android <3ers! , also credit to tr.slate for the blue androids for when connecting to pc.
Anyone who wants to mod the file please do, any enhancements you want to add please do.
this is the Desire theme, just with tr.slate's androids, hope you all like it, and give a big cheer for these guys.
the background is not part of the theme thats a ADW launcher theme from the market called iDroids.
by the way you will still have to change to white as in the old JD theme, and you FLASH this Via Amon_RA 1.7.0.1 or clockwork (not tried this one).
Right i have also made a MORPH if anyone wishes to try it, REMEMBER do NANDROID first i am not in any way held responsible for any damages or loses.
USE of this theme is solely upon you.
right desiretheme white is with the car nav notification white, it is not great but im not a graphics designer, also have change sms and mms notifications smily face to green. and also the gmail notification is now a little symbol of the gmail icon.
number on the end of the file relate to the number on CM nightly's.

DesireTheme(612).zip (i.e. not morph) on a cm6 nightly from yesterday. Took awhile to track down all the places you have to manually change notification text colors, but well worth it.
cool, glad it worked.
Morph didn't work on 055406. It applies ok, but nothing is changed after a reboot.
Ok will have to look into that.

ok, uploaded a changed morph. let me know if this works. i had a .thm file and .xml file in there, dunno if thats causing the prob, i have removed the .thm file and left the xml file. see if this works.
It works now. Turns out TiBackup did not restore the market link for MM so there was an update I could not see. Thanks for this man, it looks good.

I noticed that the "car home" icon that shows up in the status bar when using the car dock is still the default black icon (on the now black status bar). What're the chances of getting a reverse car dock status bar icon in some future update?

These are some mods I have updated to work with Fresh Evo 3.5.
Visual Mods
I can customize these aspects:
Power Control Background (popular are white and 50% translucent black)
Power Control Bar (any color)
Power Control Icons (i use default unless you want different ones which you will have to link me to)
Battery Icons (just take a look at the site. if you dont see the ones you want, post a link to where i can download the ones you do want)
Notifications area (popular are white and 50% translucent black)
NOTE: I do not replace/change the order of the icons in the power bar menu. You can do this yourself by following this guide!

Riptide V9/V10 (or any other V*) DO NOT work with 3.70.*. Read the last few pages of Riptide's thread and you'll see he and Slayer are hard at work to port it over.
Fresh is 3.70.* based which is why Riptide won't load.

I was just reading this also. When they are able to get it working for 3.70*, ill add the rest. I'm not that advanced in theming to be able to figure out what is causing it to be incompatible.

Would it possible for you to make the notifications (normally white) being a little grayed down or a bit transparent like the Manup's Revo Theme?
To me, white is an eye-sore-killer, almost got me blind! haha ;-)

Is CWM 3 red ? Sorry about the dumb question. The glossary doesn't mention version numbers with color of cwm. Maybe they're independent of each other, I don't know.

Yup, what Akellar said.
FYI - all of our CWM recoveries have ended up with red text, there have been 3 versions total (2.5, 2.5.x, now 3.0) any of which work with edify scripts. JT and other individuals have had to take the one released by koush and hack in edits to work with our phones, because the official versions are "broken" in that aspect - so only the ones posted here will work.
What does not work is trying to use CWM 3.0 to flash some of our theme/rom .zips (the ones that didn't already have edify scripts in them) that's where the incompatibility comes into play.
The text is black on a dark blue background making it hard to read. I read somewhere on the forums how to invert that. I 'll have to look that up. Just thought I'd let you know if you want to tweak the rom.

The text where? There's a lot of text in a lot of different places
The messaging, SMS app, has dark text.The clock on the status bar on top is missing also. When I enable and disable it in TSM parts they shift over a little but the clock remains invisible.
Time go visit that donate button now.

The clock issue is a known issue with the ROM - it defaults to the same color as the status bar so if you don't set it to a different color - or use a different status bar - you won't see it. Setting the clock color requires a reboot after btw.

bdemartino got me straighten around on the clock issue, and my cwm question for that matter. thanx bdemartino & akeller.
On bdemartino's port on the 2.1 version the indicators (wifi & cell strength) on the top notification bar were colored. Is that changeable or is that part of the TSM settings?

i believe that its changeable, but this is how the maker of the theme has it now...or so im guessing cause i didnt change anything form what he did
If u ported from vibrant ull have to check to see that the names match, I've had to rename them to get them to port correctly. That goes for 3g and service bar icons at least. I think I noticed that earlier when I threw in that data icon

ill have a look at that tomorrow...kinda taking it easy tonight to celebrate my final day of the spring semester!!! yay me for getting good grades...lol
I was able to fix the mms dark text on dark background issue.
I 7zipped the mms.apk out of the H57 Andromedena Tek and 7zip it back into H57 SoC.
Looks pretty cool! I had to go through and test a few once I proved it would work to find one I liked.
Are we having fun or what? I'm close to digging into bdemartino's guide on porting
themes, to figure out this stuff for myself.

I dived into the porting guide and figured out the basics. I decompiled the latest SoC from tator and bdemartino's 2.1 version. I picked the colored pngs I wanted out of the original and replaced the monochrome ones.
I found a better colored mms.apk from the crysis pack but didn't care much for the mms icon, to dark, and 7zipped a different one back into the res folder of the mms.apk.
Everything is about where I want it accept for the gps navigation icon is always there in the notification bar even if gps is turn off. I'm going to look at the png names again and see if i missed a blank gps png or something. Any ideas would be appreciated.
***I just 7zipped the 3 pngs from the original back into the drawable-hdpi-v4 folder. Not sure why this fixed it they are smaller tho.***

grats on learning the basics homie...if you start doing this, it turns out to be alot of fun...i love it!!
I still get black text on dark background on the balloon thread of the mms app, with the updates. No biggie I just went backed to my hacked mms.apk. Just thought I'd let you know for others trying this theme.

Id like to know if there is a very plain and basic 100% Stock Gingerbread Theme for the Galaxy Tab. The Galaxy has always these ugly blue paddings, borders and tabs while the stock Gingerbread is mostly BLACK (which saves battery) along with orange highlights. I'm running Overcome ROM v3.1.0 KRATOS Gingerbread and really would like to make it look just plain vanilla 100% stock!

additional apps will follow, but for now: I just added mms.apk from Nexus S and the blacked out gmail. If you don't lik the apps just remove it from the zip before you flash.

That's not possible. When I have a look on the Gmail Settings, I can see the same Bar with the same damn font.
And just FIY: I need to know the hole path and not just the xxx.apk.

After a few days trying, i have to give up. I can't find the responsible pic for the black banner in the settings. I know it musst be a file in the framework-res.apk, but where?

This is only the case with amoled screens, it does not apply to LCD screens like the Tab has. The same amount of power is used to display a black pixel as is used to display a white one.
I believe your problem is the dark_header.png try this framework, i cant test it ATM. Heres the png too.

OK, installed it and it looks great!! I will keep it, very very good job thank you very much!! Some of the dialogue screens seem more square than they were originally and many icons (like settings and shot off screen) totally lost their color also, but its OK, I like the look
I have a question, you replaced the WIFI meter icon on the upper task bar with the stock one which looks perfect now. A friend of mine also with KRATOS on his Tab wants to keep the stock KRATOS theme but would love to get your stock taskbar WIFI meter icon. How would this be possible? Would it be an easy fix to create an update zip just with that change? I have no idea how to do it..

Has anyone here tried to use UOT Kitchen to do any modding? I tried to get a few things changed but the only thing I could successfully mod was the battery icon styly. Everything else I try to do, upon reboot, its not modded.
Among other things id like to add transparency to the taskbar pulldown (like the old Overcome 1.x Froyo that was sooooooo nice and that is gone from KRATOS) as well changing the Notification Power Buttons and taskbar icons to stock Gingerbread.. but nothing, upon flash and reboot, nothing has changed. I'm frustrated.

Well, after the fiasco that was "feelin' blue" I got together with GunnerMike to create a new blue theme, and I feel this one is much better than feelin' blue was. I've put a lot of work into getting this to a point that I don't think there is really anything else to change, so its time to be released.

Instructions
****If you are using Humble Rom, in order to install this theme you must first mount /system in recovery, then flash it.****
Make sure you have root and Clockwork Recovery installed
- Boot into recovery (Use either Reboot Button app or Hold Volume Up + Home + Power Buttons when phone is off, until the Samsung logo flashes then release all buttons)
-- Select "install zip from sdcard"
- Select "choose zip from sdcard"
- Select "A_Whole_New_Blue_v#.#.zip"
- Select "Yes - Install A_Whole_New_Blue_v#.#.zip"
- Go Back
- Select Reboot System Now.
***The first boot may take a little longer than usual***

After several difference request for different changes and whatnot, there are now a total of 12 different versions of this this theme that are available. I will group them by the overlay I used on the Dialer. After that will be the base theme, then the theme with a black status bar, then the theme with the round battery option, and finally the theme with a black status bar and the round battery option...I hope this all makes sense.

GunnerMike gave me a lot of help on this one. A LOT of help. The mms.apk I used came directly from him, as well as some images (which I made minor changes to), namely the tab images you see in the dialer, contacts, and clock, as well as the status bar, and the background in the dropdown of the status bar. Also the overlay of the face for the dialer buttons. So I owe him a lot of thanks for his efforts to help me. If you don't know his work, check out some of his themes (mostly for Gummy I believe).
As usual, flash this theme at your own risk, myself, xda, nor anyone other than yourself is responsible for damages to your phone.

Yeah but... You can make a colorful theme, this one is supposed to be blue. Its just when other people read the thread title they are going to assume all blue. You can start a new project .

No, you cannot. I added it to the theme and it looked bad because it was blue on blue. I could add it but in a different color.
That would be awesome. I'm a fan of the honeycomb battery. But at the least. Just some sort of circular battery
