Best Remote Desktop (RDP)? - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

Hello
what's the best App for Remote Desktop (RDP-compatible) for Transformer?
Thanks

Xtra Logic remote desktop client
It is not free, but I like XtraLogic's remote client. Very fast and configurable. You can use the native resolution of your tablet, or specify a different one and scroll around automatically. Plays well with an external keyboard or mouse. I assume it will work well with the dock also, but I do not have one to verify.
http://www.xtralogic.com/rdpclient.shtml

FWIW I just use androidVNC into my work laptop then RDP into work servers. Works just as well and I can use it throughout the network and anywhere else RDP is not available.

the mycloud app that comes with the tf is faster than any vnc i ever used. I can even watch netflix on my tf with little to no lag on my wireless g connection. i was very surprised. try it out! It works 10 times better than anything on the market!!

I've only used Teamviewer and Splashtop (or mycloud). I also recommend Splashtop. Pretty damn smooth.

i want a direct rdp connection...
Does Splashtop support RDP?

X2 is free, does RDP, has multiple resolutions including full screen, mouse support, and is free.

I couldn't get 2X to right click with my external mouse or get ctrl and alt working with the dock keyboard. Just started using Remote RDP Lite and liking that a lot better.

Have a lool at Wyse PocketCloud RDP/VNC

By external keyboard and mouse do you mean it works with the dock's mouse and keyboard?

No. I do not have a dock. I am using a bluetooth mouse and a separate bluetooth keyboard. I will try the dock when it arrives (it was hard to find - I finally got one at newegg).

Yes it does. You can click on a little mouse icon just under the cursor icon that gives a couple of short cuts, one being a right mouse click.

He means, does the physical right button on the transformer dock actually translste to a right mouse click.

Splash top is the best rdp I've used so far. Very fast and looks great. Blow logmein away.

hi, yeah sorry i mean to remote control a win7 pc, I cant find anything on marketplace called logmein, only comes up with phonemypc which ive tried and dont like.
How do i get this "logmein" ?
there was a .apk download somewhere here on the xda site, do a search for "logmein ignition beta" or something like that. you will also need a logmein account, its free and you need to download and install a virtually invisible program on your computer.
ok so it would seem that the beta is over (strange as mine is still running fine) but if you go here https://secure.logmein.com/welcome/android/, you might find what you are looking for when it is released, unless anyone else can find the download link.

Hmm the only one I've actually liked is phonemypc. Sure it doesn't have sound and no login support yet, but nothing beats getting to see your pc screen on your phone with 20 fps
I've also tried Remote RDP, but it didn't give me anywhere near the framerates of phonemypc on my part, plus setting up RDP is more of a pain if you want to use it over 3G.

Gmote basically turns your phone into a mouse control for a HTPC...
not the same thing...
Can someone describe the differences between phonemypc and logmein? I currently use phonemypc and like it, but if there's something that would suite me better, I'd switch.

Not true, my friend uses it to control windows media center, you have to make the remote how you want it, he said its not obvious at first but once you figure it out you can program virtually any command in

Believe me, the BEST of all!!
xtralogic.com/rdpclient.shtml
Gmote is a great start: Stream music from the computer to the phone, Control PowerPoint, Use as a mousepad, Use to control windows media player, Use keyboad on phone to type on computer (Don't know why you would but neat anyway), Free version available but only us$2.99....BUT only on the wifi network, not remote thru cell towers..Xtralogic's Remote Desktop Client is a complete RDP with password protect and can be use anywhere!! BUT is US$19.95.....So there are 2 options depending on what suits your needs...Hope that helps!!!

What you should do is google 'RDP' and then see if your definition works along the lines of GMotes functionality.
To answer your question in short, no it doesnt.

I tried a couple of rdc's and Phonemypc was the best. Its one of my three favorite apps. Setup is an absolute breeze and the developer says sound will be added. Picture is great watching video so after sound it'll be perfect.
Hey people, thanks for the comments, I tried gmote it doesnt even recognise a simple .avi file on my Pc, was easy to setup and connect but i need it to play movies.
Does anyone have a .apk of the xtralogic rdp??

Posting of the .apk is not allowed because it is a paid app. But I agree, I have tried every other RDP client for android, and this is tops. If you need great RDP support on your phone, its worth it.

[Q] need to control my tab from pc!

Hey all,
I just got a tab today, all new so far. Due to my disability i really need to be able to control the tap from my windows pc(similar to my mobiler for winmo). I've seen android screencast, i can get it to come up on screen but more nor keyboard work.
I spent the whole day(12 hours) trying to get around this. Does anyone know of any apps that actually work? I don't mind paying for it either.
I've dried droid vnc server and its not really working either. Thanks in advance.
Try remote rdp enterprise. Available in the market. Install it. Works great.

droid explorer works.
enable usb debugging on the Tab
then go to tools, then plugin and select screencast. wait for java plugin to run and the screen for the Tab should pop up. you can control it from here.
it might be a little slow but it works.
Remote web desktop, acts as a proxy to most of the main functions.

Been searching everywhere for an app that will allow me to control my phone from the pc. Really need this due to my disability(and having just bought a massive galaxy tab).

Would be willing to pay for the app also.

Hi mcnally,
I have successfully used 'droid VNC server' in the past.
What VNC client are you using on your desktop? I have used tightvnc, realvnc and ultravnc (they all do the same thing, just differently)
I had assumed that keyboards & mice were configured automatically, but there can be a "view only" option that may have stopped your keyboard & mouse from interacting.
Also - sometimes VNC is quite laggy, so laggy it looks like its not responding! your client should have a setting to reduce the color depth, this transmits less data & can help the lag but you loose colours. There may also be settings to reduce data transfer further, like handling the mouse on the client side etc...

I'm waiting for Splashtop to add right click support, Windows RDP is way too slow to do anything over the net.
Awesome! I've been using 2x which has also been very satisfactory for a free app.
RDP has really turned my TF into a viable work from home solution. The only thing I'm still struggling with is Cisco VPN - but I hear the android anyconnect client is in Beta and not far off public release.
OOoohhh!! I'm gonna try this out tomorrow at my clients. Been using LogMeIn when I'm remote and Wyse Pocket Cloud when I'm at the clients but they both need to be used with the finger on the touch screen.

Yes, I know.
The app supposidly supports a physical right button though. So far it would appear that in fact it doesn't.
I emailed the dev and he said that he tried a bluetooth mouse. So he got that to work I think? But he didnt try the transformer. So I sent him a log and I hope he can find it.
Im happy to say that he emailed me back and fixed it. The update was pushed a few minutes ago, just tried. Right click support ftw. This thing is awesome. ^_^
Awesome, downloading.
Updated and tested. Works perfectly now.
This is without a shadow of doubt, the best RDP client there is.

That's what I'm using too. I've actually set 2 profiles for my home server, one for when I'm on another network that is optimised for performance, and another for when I'm home optimised for appearance.
WOW!!! This Dev is awesome. RDP client is exactly as it should be. Has anyone gotten the VNC Client to work made by this Dev? I keep getting "Cant create handler inside thread that has not called looper.prepared()". Also getting FCs every so often. Have not successfully connected to VNC Server that are tested to work fine with WYSE Pocket cloud.
This guys got skills... Getting the trackpad and right click to work fixed all the "not quite netbook but close" arguements. This is now the full Tablet/Netbook hybrid to kill off the rest. Still looking to get VNC client working.
how do i use my TF that is connected to the internet by bluetooth tethering to connect remotely with this?
or through iphone personal hotspot?
can anyone advice?
thanks.

Best RDP app?

I need an RDP app to remote to Windows 8 PC. Most of the apps I have tried will connect but just display a blank screen. I tried iTap which connects and displays the screen nicely but the keyboard doesn't pop up automatically, you have to select it yourself from the menu bar. Once the keyboard is up it covers half the screen, usually the part you want to type in.
Ideally I'd like an RDP app that works with the S-Pen, and pops up the keyboard automatically.
Any suggestions?
The best, i know is: PocketCloud

I prefer TeamViewer it works perfekt and is free for none commercial use
TeamViewer requires an install on the PC you are wanting to remote into? Therefore it's not actually an RDP client?

Great suggestion just tried it and it even tracks the s pen!
I mostly used PocketCloud Pro too, but 2X and Jump Desktop are worth looking into too.
I use Splash top HD. Works really well for me with no lagging. The keyboard has a screen key you show it with. The pen can also be used with One Note. Not sure about other programs.

Any one of this RDP apps allow to listen audio on android instead of audio in laptop,
I mean does any app redirects audio in good conditions?

I'm using Jump Desktop and today was updated with a touch function for windows 8, it's working great! almost like if I have a win8 tablet. Hovering the spen works as a mouse pointer and you can left and right click by touching the screen and using the side button.
Sorry for asking but what's the difference between rdc and Splashtop like software?
OT: Splashtop works very very well for me, tried the pocket cloud but it's Very laggy. Now I just need a windows 8 pc to try its gesture functions.
