'no sim card' after flash of the KD1 :( - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

should i have flashed it with the sim card in?
i flashed whitehawkx's kd1 deodexed rom with odin 1.7.
i was scared of that messing crap up but i took it out for the flash and now i have no signal(searching) and 'mobile networks' in 'wireless and nework' says 'insert SIM card to access network services.' as if it's not inside.
it passed in odin :/ hrmmm
SGH-T959V

i'm seein tons of threads saying that the only issue you could have is a phone call or sms messing up the flash.
i'm going to flash it again now with my sim in but sd out.

wtf it STILL says to insert the sim. am i screwed?
edit: i actually had the sim in backwards >< so i did not flash it with the sim in. i noticed it was in wrong after the 2nd flash but even after i put it in correctly and rebooted it gives me the same issue. i read a couple more threads of horror stories where flashing with the sim inside caused the sim to become unusable. should i flash it with the sim in?
or should i do as suggested here?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=761045
edit: nvm i can't find nv_data.bin from step one it's not hidden idk wth is goin on
thanks

Had that happen to me the other day, it was due to me dropping the phone. I actually had to get a micro screw driver and taker the phone apart, something was disconnected. When I put it back together it worked. If that doesn't work try getting a new sim card.

Try your sim card on another phone to see if everythings ok. Also try flashing another rom with the sim and sd card in. maybe kc1 and if it works then back to kd1

same thing happened to my phone, sim works fine in every other phone but the galaxy s 4g. i dont know whats the deal. it was working fine i was using it for navigation while driving and all of a sudden it got stuck and i took out the battery, put battery back and turned on, no network and since then cant make it to work no matter whatever i do.

i checked under about phone and baseband version says unknown, imei says unknown, imei sv also says unknown, i guess somehow the baseband and imei block is flashed in our phones while flashing, now as we have narrowed it down to the problem all we need is a way to flash it back.
anyone please help...

If u can punch this in your dialer. If not try going into recovery and do a factory reset.

Well took it to my phone guy and all he did was shut it down, remove battery, remove sim and reinsert, and it worked fine. Strange because I did the exact same thing countless times.
So either the sim takes a couple restarts to recognize when I flash with it out, or the pins that touch and read the sim are extremely sensitive. At any rate it's working now
Ill flash with the sim in from now on

I had the same issue with the SIM card with the original stock ROM sometime ago. After reboot the phone just would not see the SIM card. I used some contact cleaner/enhancer on the card contacts and the issue never reappeared.

[Q] Hmmm, I think I need help :)

Is there any reason why my infuse would just stop reading my sim card? Everything was working fine until I used odin to flash back to stock. Everything is back to stock, but now it won't read sim card. I have tried to flash several roms/kernels/etc and they all show the same problem now. I can't change APN settings because it says no sim card. Any one else had this experience and know a fix they'd like to share? I almost think it's not software related anymore, but I wasn't sure so it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks in advance for any help
Edit: have also reflashed using odin, and same thing happens. Also used different stock tar files and still same result.
Sounds like you mite of damaged the slot for the card

tried multiple sims, and it won't work on the infuse. Sim works fine on the gs2. I didn't see anyone else with this problem in the forums... so it looks like the sim slot just went bad?
Yes you would probably have to send it in because the prongs on the sim card tray are messed up or.... you can replace it yourself

Does it say there is no Sim card in the phone if not that flash a different modem if it does then you need the Sim card slot replaced

Missing SIM card
If you can get into your phone try reflashing the kernel that came with the ROM. Mismatched kernels can cause strange problems.

[Q] Samsung Infuse 4G No Network IMEI problem..tried Factory Reset

My problem seems a bit confusing. It is not identifying my SIM CARD or any other SIM card as a matter of fact. Infact, its not even identifying its IMEI number as well as it only SAYS no Network. However GPS and also WIFI works perfectly.
I restored the phone back to its original Factory settings, using Odin, and even messed with the efs file etc, but it still doesn't work. So I'm not sure if I'm doing it right or probably a problem with the radio ???(Hardware problem??)
Can you assist ?
I've used this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1729838
as well as some others for using Odin etc.
Nothing seems to work

if there is unknown, flash modem and do permision fix
Thanks guys ...I'm gonna try it this weekend....
Also I emailed this same problem to a repair site ...they suggested I type in *#06# ...which returned a response of null/null...he said that this means it has a broken bga ball in the modem ic. ...have you all experience this in any way?

Hey, have you resolved your problem? I am in the same situation and still searching for something... I've tried flashing with odin + the modem, pda, pit, CSC and still it hasn't solved my IMEI problem... I've copied my EFS file to an external source, for the safety of it... I am not sure why this problem appeared, since I've bought it second hand just for the Mobo, since mine was fried... And the guy I;ve bought it from is now where to be found... so... any help would be extremely appreciated!
Happy coding!
I've had the exact same situation. Sim wasn't recognized, the *#06# gave me null/null also. My friend saved it when he showed me this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895500&highlight=efs
It works now, with the exception that it displays the AT&T World Phone splash screen (I'm on Rogers).
Please help me!
i have bought a used infuse. my problem is same as you guys. Its does shows network when i start my phone. within seconds the network goes down and i needed to restart my phone to get network. Yup it shows network bar with out service name, imei no and baseband version. After that i root my phone to unlock my phone. I have successfully unlocked, but network wont last for a minute or so.
Then i tried with leaving phone with my charger. Then it works, it wont lost any network. Works as charm,
And i replaced my battery. No effect!
Conclusion is I have to consider my phone as a landline, always charging!
Should i go for hardware check?

"you don't have .nv_data.bak and his md5 files, canceled"

Hi, trying to USE the app GSII_repair from the android store.
Phone phone seems to be having the "no sim card" error come and go, I think there is some weird problem with the radios, pulling my hair out.
No the app i got, that might fix it says you don't have .nv_data.bak and his md5 files, canceled
I wonder if this helps figure this out ?
Thanks anyone ! would love someone that could help me a bit here.
Does the app support the i727? Gsll aren't all the same.

Your efs may be hosed which wouldn't be good. That's above my grade level. See if cschmitt can help. He's your only hope of it is a hosed efs.
EDIT, I just looked at that app, and sorry dude, but I think you hosed your phone. It messes with the partitions and is not for the i727.

What does your baseband say in settings, about phone? Also, check your apn settings.
try icenight's fix
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1611796&highlight=icenight
read and try this.
I used that app before and got the same thing. I odin'd back to stock GB at the time. Flashed a gb radio (Ics leak just came out) That worked for me.
However this should fix your problem.
baseband
1727RUXLF3
when i try to go to the "moble networks" menu, and click the apns, there is none, when i try to ad my apn settings, after i fill everything and out and hit save, it is blank under apns.
If I were you I would start from scratch and Odin the newest official release of at&t or Rogers depending on what carrier you're on. Did you reflash the radio?

Thanks for the help so far...
So here is where i am at now..
Have flashed Slim Bean, and various radios, I had the factory firmware on there for a while, it up and running, I have and IMEI number, my sim card it being picked up as it says rogers, but it says "no service".. it's weird because in the APN settings, it gets the settings from the network, they are there (rogers LTE) so it must be connecting somehow right ?
I have tried searching for available networks, nothing comes up, it's like my attennas are off or broken.
Is there any way to force my phone to see if has any antenna working or something ?
Thanks guys for the help, your the best, but I might need a new phone.

[HELP] 4G LTE no longer working.

My phone no longer goes to 4g. if I flash back to the stock rom, then it works.
I've tried slimkat, slimbean, andybonestock, and cyanogenmod. On any custom rom 4g no longer works, only 3g.
Also I am on the latest firmware/radio/modem
My Phone is set to CDMA+LTE/EVDO, and whats weird... is that if I set the subscription type to NV then I GET LTE... but sms and calls do not work, only data.. Switch back to SIM then everything works but only 3g..
This happened to me. You'll need to flash the root66 build with odin. There's a set of instructions somewhere. I would link it but I'm on my tablet. Google it and let me know if you need help.

I tried out my gf's SIM card while she was over. I had 4g again and on her phone she was only getting 3g like i was.
Went to verizon and got a new one, now it works!!
I do want to know what caused my card to go bad though... Worked when i first got my phone.

Do you have a hard case on your phone? Before I put one on I walked into a table corner and busted my sd card. Not a stretch to imagine it happening to a sim card. The back on this phone is way to flimsy.
Ive never dropped it and ive had an otterbox case on it since i got it.
