There's 3 different lockscreens for touchwiz which is why it was possible to port the other two that were different, then add the options to settings. Doubt they would work. Probably possible to make rotary and aosp- although it'd be a little more difficult to get them to switch in settings from the sense lockscreen since it uses a completely different way to show it. Sense uses an apk to to show the sense lockscreen- the lockscreen for touchwiz is in android.policy.jar
If you want different lockscreens that bad- cm7

Widget locker lets me have Six different styles of lock screen. Then there is the fact that I can customize the Icons for them and its almost endless..

I downloaded the Inspired Ace rom which I love and has increased my battery life like I didn't think was possible. My question is the lockscreen. How do I change the sense screen to the standard froyo or gingerbread type that slides left to right and allows you to change ringer on/off?
Widget locker. That's what I use.
You can remove or rename htclockscreen.apk and it should show up automatically. Not 100% sure one the apk name but I think I am remembering close.
Located in /system/app
note: if you use the above process (deleting the apk) your alarm will not work.
Widgetlocker looks pretty cool, I think I might have to check that out.
Widget locker is the best. You can make multiple unlock bars, widgets on the lock screen, change the lock bar style, etc. Absolutely worth the cost.
I guess my question is how do you use the add ons in the rom. It has the option while downloading to enable the htc lockscreen but I want to use the stock froyo slider that I'm guessing it also has. How do I change the lockscreen? I would post this in the rom forum but I can't yet because of my number of posts.

Hi,
Is there any way to keep a different wallpaper on lockscreen vs your homescreen?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
There use to be in Sense 2.x, but not any more with Sense's stock lockscreen. I haven't used them to know, but there might be a way to set a different lockscreen wallpaper on a 3rd party lockscreen like widget locker, though it would significantly slow down unlocking your phone.
It doesn't appear that you can (you used to be able to on the older version of Sense). If you go into Personalize > Lock Screen, they have one called "Wallpaper" but when you hit Settings... it only allows you to choose the app shortcuts. By the name I would have assumed it would be included but perhaps it was overlooked like other small things in Sense 3.0?
Ah. Ok. It seems like a mistake though I'm gonna use ripple lock. It's fast, looks pretty and let's me changemy lockscreen

Remember how when the first ring lockscreen came about we could change the shortcuts?
It seems with Sense 4 they mimic what you have in the launcher bar. Can't change them unless you change the ones in the launcher.
That's kind of lame
http://www.gottabemobile.com/2012/04/18/change-lock-screen-apps-htc-sense-4/
seems pretty smart to me, if you put stuff on the launcher bar its a pretty good bet you are going to want to have fast access to those apps.
I agree - so need to get creative with just the 4 choices. Luckily ICS allows shortcut folders. Decision on whether you want something 1 click or 2+.
There's gotta be an XML edit that can be made to Rosie or , wait, wouldn't be rosie, damn, I'm trying to remember the name of what controls lockscreen. Haven't run sense in almost a year, will edit when I remember. Sorry

I think it makes since to use the dock icons too. Here's the issue I have with the lock screen:
I have my lock screen set up to show notifications, buttons when I receive a text message it only shows the number and not the contact name. Is there a setting I'm missing?

Fusion apk. That's what I was trying to remember. XML edits in fusion would probably break the dependency. IDK, haven't had a chance to look at sense 4 yet.

I did notice that if you using a launcher like Apex then you can set up the short cuts you want on your lock screen by setting them in sense the go back to apex and set the ones you want in your dock there.

How does it make sense to limit customization? That doesn't make sense lol the camera for instance isn't on my dock bar, but I would love that to be on the lockscreen, which I could do on 3.6.
Yeah, annoyed with that also... For example, I want access to Spotify on lockscreen, but don't need it in my dock all the time. :/

Widget locker is an option.
Actually, it works perfect for me. I hate the Sense launcher, so I use Nova (Similar to ICS-Stock). I just put the 4 apps I want from the loackscreen on the sense launcher tray, and then never open the launcher again.
+1 on an alternate launcher.
Using Apex and liking it better than stock given the fact that I can now have some gesture support on the home screen AND have different dock icons than lock screen icons.
Hello all,
New Galaxy S2 user here. Coming from a line of exclusively HTC Sense phones and ROMs.
I'm wondering if it's possible (and easy) to change the icons for default apps in CM9 or TW based ROMs? Specifically the "Messaging" icon - I hate the "smiley" face. Makes me feel 12 years old again.
I've done a few searches, but I'm not looking to replace the entire icon set or the ROM or theme... just one icon.

The hard way is to download the apk, open it up, replace the images with the ones you want, repackage it, and reinstall it. The easy way is to use a launcher that allows you to change the icon. I know Apex and Nova do, not sure about any others.

Also check out "Desktop Visualizer" in the market .
But as already mentioned ....the different launchers are the best & easiest way.
Holo launcher is another one.
Good Luck.

Go Launcher as well. Go, Nova, and Apex have the ability to use icon sets made for each other.
Hmmm... going to an entirely different launcher seems like overkill, but I guess if it works...
There used to be apps on the Market that would allow you to create shortcuts with different icons (BetterCut comes to mind, but the dev pulled it from the Market entirely).
If you don't want a new launcher, try Desktop Visualizer (though I have yet to figure out how to get it to use an existing icon pack). There are a lot of options in it and it's a great program.
I dont know if this is at all possible without theming but I was curious if you could get the sense 4+ on an aosp rom. Maybe not all the extra apps like the music and messaging and camera but the lockscreen and the widgets. I have tried all sorts of stuff with go launcher and beautiful widgets but they just don't do it justice. Is there a way to port this???? Has it already been done?

First of all, this should be in the Q&A section. Secondly, the closest you will get is a modded Sense ROM. I jumped ship from sense as fast as I could so I don't really follow the news, but I have heard that Viper ROM is the most AOSP-like Sense ROM.
No... Certain aspects or sense rely on the sense launcher... Like the clock...idk about the lockscreen...but mostly everything else is a no go on a diff launcher
Sense is very heavily tied into the framework. Ports are possible, like when I had a captivate there was a sense port but it was extremely unstable. It's just not worth the hassle really

you could always use a senseless rom so you could have other launchers but have sense lockscreen still
Go with Viper rom, use Apex or Nova launchers. You will have an Aosp style launcher while still maintaining the lockscreens, and HD Widgets will look just like sense.

In my experience all third-party launchers introduce a notable lag (compared to Rosie) when opening home screens, app drawer, etc. And this is with all possible animations and other eye candy turned off. Seems that as long as Sense is running in the background you have to go through an extra layer to get to the Launcher.
