WTF T-Mobile?! MyAccount takes up like 40MB of RAM!??! - T-Mobile LG G2x

So this is bizarre but in SystemPanel, the app MyAccount (latest from Market) shows it's taking like 10MB of RAM or whatever. However, I just uninstalled it and my free RAM went from 130 to 170MB!!!
This can only mean one thing, MEMORY LEAK! What a piece of crap. Never putting that on my phone again...reboots or not, this thing can only cause problems

Was it actually causing your phone to lag or are you just hording memory? I've never had a problem with MyAccount.

is there an app that free up memory? thanks in advance.

Yup, its called Froyo

Use a program called Fastboot...if not then use a program to uninstall it or delete it or even freeze it.

Atk and froyo

this is from the developers of atk they did give me new one but I don't have the option of attaching the file from my phone
BTW:Froyo doesn't allow killing current running apps or services, it means that there isn't any app can do that in the market. We are trying to break this rule out. But for now we still cannot find any solution. Maybe we can open system settings in ATK and let users manually kill current running apps and services. Does this solution sounds fine for you? If you have any idea about this, feel free to let me know.

I concur. With 2.1 I always had one running because without after 24 hours my phone would be super laggy. After flashing froyo I decided to run without it and its been perfect. No matter what I do there always seems to be at least 90mb of free memory.

My point was people keep installing and cooking it into roms and it doesn't even work in 2.2 so yes you don't need it

Performance Issues

My Captivated is rooted and Im having a lot of performance issues. I unloaded some apps and its still having problems. The biggest issues is delayed response. This happen from messaging, to suing the touchscscrreen./----Im going to leave this typo because it happens of the screen freezing--/ . This happens way to frequently. Please tell me I can fix this myself, I don't want to send this off for a new one. I hate that process.

Backup your apps with TITANIUM BACKUP and flash back to stock. Then I would install the sre.

you can follow all the steps to root your phone and reset and blablabla...
or you can wait for the software fix, which nobody knows when to come or nobody can guarantee to work.
or you can wait for 2.2, which is supposed to be faster but you never know.
or you can exchange for another phone and probably have the same problem.

I wouldn't mind playing the waiting game if just a couple of bugs. But what's a smart phone if it doesn't can't handled being used. I figured it was something I did cause the phone didn't always freeze like this. Is this the lag people are talking about?

Do a reset. However don't use Titanium Backup to restore system data. It will funk stuff up a lot of the time.

I had the same issues, first get rid off any task killer app you have. Second download the One Click Lag Fix app. These steps increased my phones speed drastically. You can also use a program called Autostarts to control which apps load at boot. To do the last to tips, I believe your phone had to be rooted.

Back before this nice app we had to use a script at boot to change the settings this app now does. Y'all got in on Android when it was getting easy to do everything. I had to root by cmd prompt and use a list of commands now we have one click rooters. I am kinda jealous.

You definitely don't need an app killer. Eclair is set up to kill apps when memory is needed. I find things to be buggy when I use an app killer. Use launcher pro. Much smoother than touch whiz. Root with SRE. When all the att crap is gone the phone functions like it should have out of the box even if you disable the OC. Lagfix is optional but doing all these things really makes the phone fly

Insufficient Space problem

I'm not entirely sure what is going on. But whenever I try and download this one specific app (samurai vengeance) it says I have insufficient space on my card. I know this to be untrue. I have tons of space left. Over 1 gig alone in the program and close to 11 gigs in my internal. What's going on and how can I fix it? Any suggestions would be beautiful. I'm afraid this may carry over to other apps I want to install as well.
*Edit: I am running Infused 1.5.3 and the community kernal that comes with it. I partitioned my SD card a while ago but did a factory reset (not sure if that removes the partition or not). Thought that info may be helpful.

I am having the exact same problem! And it wasn't just that application. I ran into two instances of this same occurrence in the market. It is borderline frustrating.
I'm also running Infused 1.5.3 and the community kernal v8, both of which have been treating me phenomenally thanks to gtg's hard work. Anybody have any thoughts on this? I never partitioned my SD in any way, so I don't think that has anything to do with it.
I'm starting to wonder if I should take it back to stock and just start all over. But I'd rather not.

It has to do with the cache size of the new market or that's what I've heard. The way to solve it is to go into applications -> market -> clear cache/data -> restart phone. And you should be able to download whatever you are trying to download again. But once your cache for the market fills up you have to do it again. Annoying I know, but at least it works.
i got this error today! and for the first time ever. i had just wiped and reflashed up my phone. it was plants vs zombies, a huge file, and i already have about 300 apps, all on my phone, not the sd card. so i thought i actually had a problem. but im using only half my phone storage, so i went back and tried it again and it worked fine. installed a few more apps after that too. dunno why. but yeah.
Thanks for all of the replies guys! This clears it up a whole bunch. Before I even thought about trying the old market I actually set my app downloads to go to my internal instead of the default 2 gig partitioned section. This helped me download more, but didn't solve everything. Now that I know it's the new market, it makes everything go down easier. I love these forums and I love the infuse. Keep up the good work.

Memory low due to low app space?

Guys please let me know honestly if its a pain due to small app space on vibrant 4g...
I'm about to trade my vibrant and pay and pay additional $100 on top of that for a vibrant 4g.... is that a good deal or not forth it?
Because on my vibrant 3g I never get low memory because I have dedicated 2gb of app space...
Thanx

If your rooted and have deleted all the bloatware and done the fota fix you should have about 350mb internal memory for apps. Use link2sd or apps2sd to have movable apps installed on your SD card and you should never have any space issues.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
yeah that happens to me too. if you are rooted you can also clear up your cache via recovery as well as deleting all that bloatware with Titanium back if you dont wanna do it through terminal emulator, which the SGS4g has alot.....
So the only way to move apps to sd is to root?

Vibrant plus 100 is steep man... Think it over. Vibrants still go for about 200-250. Sell that then use the money plus the extra hundred you were about to spend and grab a Sensation or something. I see a lot of new Sensations for about 300-350 on CL.
Good luck.

If you use custom rom or root and delete fota files you will get about 300MB left on your phone. Theres also the option to move some app to 16GB sd card (most will suport this feature, but some don't).
OK guys I tried all the app2sd apps in the market... all of them show 0 movable apps... so please help me out with this: is there a one click root apparently for this phone? And where can I download it... and which files are safe to remove and how do I remove them... I'm new to rooting and u would need to break it down like to an infant... Suspicious activity

Well I dont know if it was an app i downloaded or what because it did not start happening dirrectly after a download or installation but my phone about every week adds what appear to be app shortcuts to my desktop (launcher thing). one is titled Search and has a picture of the android guy. The other is always some game. These appear to be just links. Also in my notification bar, if i pull it down, there is an add there too. "Meet hot singles" was this week. Is there any app or method to detect which app is doing this? I already downloaded Adfree and Airblocker hoping that it would deny this suspicious activity.
You may need an app called AirPush detector. I would start there. Otherwise, retrace your steps and uninstall whatever you have only had on the phone for a little while
Or just wipe data and start fresh. Get rid of the junk you never use while your at it.
Or there's that
Well i have not tried the airpush detector and it is the kind of thing i wanted , i am considering wiping data soon too, i was thinking of doing that. I end up downloading so many programs and I'm like, I will so use this. Then i never use it.
