My wife and I both got Samsung Infuse 4G phones recently and I have been customizing mine and am quite happy with the changes (Serendipity, REDROM, and many fun addons cooked up in the kitchen) but I still love the stock Samsung Camera.apk and would love to get it back - I suppose I could get it from her phone but am not 100% certain what the best way to do this is... just browse to her /system/apps and pull it out and put it on my phone?

sorry I should have clarified. I know of the 4 from Glaxy, but Vibrant has a couple others that are not part of the Galaxy S wallpapers.

just tried that, just said application not installed. sucks ass. really wanted the luminescence one.
i also love how people say they got the sims out of that dump but theres no sims apk anywhere to be found.

i took the wallpaper out and tried to install it but it's a no go. someone will have to mod the apk.

K firstly the dump has to be deodexed.
Heres the dump i deodexed a while back. Link
Then u need to either resign the apk and see if that works, or edit the manifest.xml to remove the shared uid if it has a shared uid and then resign and install.
Use apk manager from my signature if ur new to this concept.

lol i have no idea how to do any of this man, i was just trying to help and figured posting the stuff would. so now that you've said how to do it anyone want to take a crack? i would but i'd probably fail and i have way to much other stuff on my plate right now.

That ocean waves one is super cool I wish I could use it. But my poor old nexus doesn't stand a chance. I'd like to see how it runs on that Samsung hummingbird though.
You can run the Ocean Waves on an N1. Not well, but it runs. I understand it lags even on the Galaxy S.
Dandelion/Sea/et al are pretty okay, though.

Same here.
I figured it out. I installed the apks in the zip file and then used Root Explore to move the files to /system/lib and rebooted the phone and then the live walls worked including Luminescence
I was browsing around the galaxy s section and seen that someone posted that the live wallpapers from the Fascinate are available here http://www.multiupload.com/503TEPBK4J (direct download)

What I did was:
1. download the file from the above link
2. unzip the file
3. placed the contents of the zip file on the root of the sd
4. i then used root explorer to move the .so lib file to /system/lib
5. after that i used linda file manager to navigate to the root of my sd to the files and installed them with the package installer.
credits to lgkahn in the galaxy s section for posting these.
(im not responsible for anything that happens to your phone when applying this)

Honestly, I do not know how much interest there will be in this, but throughout my own exploration and experimentation with Android and the Epic 4G I feel like sharing my finds with the community.
I kanged this tool from HERE so thanks to Daneshm90 among other people who are thanked in the tool itself. All I really did was add a few BOOTCLASSPATHS to the *APK.bat files to get it to deodex all the apks, and update smali/baksmali to version 1.2.6 (newest as of 3/25/11).
Basically this is a one click tool to deodex stock, odexed system/framework and system/app folders on a windows machine. I tested on the ACS Untouched Stock EC05 ROM and got clean runs where everything became deodexed.
Tips: I found it best to do system/framework first in one run, then leave the output in deodexed_JAR, and THEN process system/app as many of the files in the app folder have dependencies on the jars.
After processing system/framework you will have framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk which do not need deodexing.
In early testing, I found certain files leftover after a run processed on the next run. This stopped after updating smali/baksmali. I doubt I'll be of much help if you run into problems, you are doing EVERYTHING at your own risk. I barely understand the details here, I just ported it to work on our phone, so good luck!

Just take an odexed frame work, put it in the folder and run deoall.bat, then repeat for app. Pretty much it, if you don't know the point then you probably don't need it, lol

Yea I tried using it to deodex my eco5 stock rom, and it ran clean and gave output, but the output wouldn't boot.. I ended up going a diff route which included using a tool made for another phone and doing some by hand...

Because of the G2x badly screen bleeding in the both top corners, I've spent one afternoon to modified the framework-res.apk and Systemui.apk into SE X10 style.
It's only for the stock G2x 2.3.3, if U like it, U can just replace these two files.

SystemUI.apk from system/app
So, have fun and enjoy it.

Thanks, what I did is just replaced the pictures. I did it seriously，so there's almost no bugs.
G2x is not my first android phone, and the stock rom is pretty smooth and fast, so I'am not planning to flash other roms.
If you like the themes, you can modify the files, it not waste a lot of time.
If you create the update.zip for stock rom, I'll thank what you did.
If all you did was change out png files, I would recommend using this

It will allow you to flash this theme to most roms once you get it set up. Just put the png files you used in the appropriate folder and you're done, fix the update-script for your theme, copy a the update-binary from a G2x rom and replace it in the theme zip and you're done.
Nice one brother. Am using it but I changed the 3g (4g) icon to 4g (4g) icon. Also fixed the cut down pop up menu list.
