It seems to work only about 50% of the time...very iffy. Using Stock ROM.
On the Aria it was flawless. But on the Inspire I can not get Tasker to always pickup headphones or GPS actions...anyone else experiencing this?

Tasker works great for me (almost a little too good!), however i dont use heaphone or gps actions for triggers!
I use it too. Don't do too much with location triggers, but the headphone and wifi connect triggers and time triggers all work well. I've also used battery level triggers with no problems. The developer is very responsive on the google group for the app. Just post some questions and he'll generally respond pretty quickly.

I have purchased switch pro widget from my n1 days, still use it, and was wondering if anyone else has had the issue of bluetooth not turning off and on with the widget...anyone have this happen?
Yea I noticed this too. Bluetooth button doesn't actually turn the bluetooth on or off... have to do it in the settings menu. Also the flashlight (camera LED controller) doesn't work on Switchpro.

Hi,
I didn't try switchpro but I use Extended Controls, and those three switches you mention don't work either. So I suppose it's a bug in 2.3.1 or maybe a change in the API
The only one of them that doesn't work is the Bluetooth

I've emailed the Dev a week or two ago when I got the NS. So far no updates.
All the Skype video calls I was making used to be outputting their sound over the phone speakers. Recently, however, this seems to have changed. The sound is now only outputted via the earpiece, and I do not seem to be able to find the cause of the change, nor how to change it back. There is no speaker toggle button. Makes the video calling fairly cumbersome, since I have to put on the headphones (or Bluetooth), and cannot have a couple of people take part in the call at my end. The recent upgrade (2.5) did not correct the problem. What is annoying is that it was working OK before. I am just not sure before what. Any ideas anybody? Android 2.3.4 (stock HTC/T-Mobile), Skype is most recent stock version.

try viber.
I just used this like 2hrs ago, Toggle the mic button. I thinks it's a red icon, I've had this problem before. If not then try clearing the data. Let's us know.
Switching to another tool (viber) is not an option - it would take me less time to re-code Skype from scratch myself than to get my parents on a different program.
This is still an issue. The only way I am able to work around it is to quickly plug in my earphones and the unplug them. That seems to force skype to switch to the speaker away from the earpiece. I guess I'll have to deal with this until a future version takes care of it (hopefully).

So, just curious why most (all?) of the custom ROM's need to have the speaker toggled on/off on the first call after a reboot. Is this another one of those things like HDMI that's very difficult to fix?
I'm wondering if a workaround is possible. Such as taking the code to toggle the speaker on/off and adding it to the Call button. If it was toggled every time a call was made, but before the first ring it'd be pretty much transparent that it's doing it. A second workaround might be to check the last time the phone was rebooted (I'm assuming that date is stored somewhere) and if a call hasn't been made since then, toggle the speaker.
Then again, maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about

All I know is that it's a Hellraiser issue having to do with i9000 ROMs. If Linux hasn't fixed it yet, then it must be one hell of an issue to fix because Linux is one smart guy when it comes to this stuff, haha.

If you don't want that issue, use based on stock/leak roms, they are fine. Also, Bluetooth audio on hellraised roms doesn't work.

The issue isn't that bad given the benefits of the custom Rom's. To me (a programmer, just not a ROM one), it just seems like something that could be handled with one of the workarounds I mentioned. Granted, that means some one would actually have to do it
Maybe the final GB ROM will be out soon and this won't be an issue.

Bluetooth audio works fine for me on Mosaic 8.

First, yes, bluetooth DOES work with most Hellraised ROMs. There are some with pairing issues for certain folks, but it's hit or miss there. Second, the first call issue I never really looked into. It didn't bother me much, and there was an easy workaround, so I focused my time on other things once the issue was discovered. So it may be possible to fix I just never got around to looking into it.

Good morning all, I had a question ocncerning the ring/notification volume on my MAXX HD. Right now the lowest volume setting is extraordinarily high, way way too high for an office setting or even anywhere besides outside on a runway. The highest setting is nearly painful. Is this some sort of weird bug on my phone or are others noticing this as well? Can someone possibly recommend a solution without a third party app? Or at least a functional 3rd party app?
Thanks,
MF
(Never thought I would ever have this problem after my Nexus One and Galaxy Nexus were stupidly quiet)
Android is very poor at managing various volume levels. I use and suggest AudioManager. Its free, the paid version lets you save presets...very useful.
This topic has been brought up before somewhere here on the boards. It's the phone, not just you.
The issue is that the volume button only deals with the ring tone and vibrate. You need to change the notification sounds under settings then sounds

Even then it's loud on the lowest setting. Especially in a quiet room or at night.

I have the same issue. I guess it is the phone. Maybe the JB update coming soon will fix this Here's hoping...
I'm going to try the AudioManager app suggested by dreamliner.
I confirm jb solve this issue.

Are there any specific reasons for 4.4.3?
Is the radio better?
Is the OS faster?
Are there fixed bugs?
Are there fewer new bugs?
Is it more stable?
Is it more power efficient?
Are any of the above also true for the HTC+Verizon version we are given, as opposed to pure Google?
I would like to know this also. The only bonus I can think of is EPS mode which isn't as good as I thought it'd be (since I use different e-mail and text apps). So the biggest deciding factor for me to get 4.4.3 is a wash unless someone points out a bigger bonus that I'm missing. Till then 4.4.2 w/ Weaksauce is where I stay.
Its up to you. As there is a lot of fixes. But depends on the person. And what ROM your running. If you have your phone setup perfect and everything running great. Leave it alone.

OK Google works on any screen or while using any app. Also when the screen is off (while charging). Handy if you are one that uses it.
A lot of bug fixes and some new minor issues bit not much of a change. EPS mode enabled but actually preferred the regular PS which can be enabled by changing the value to TRUE in the defaulf.XML file.
I'm sure you saw a ton of news about Heartbleed. I believe all of the openssl libraries were updated in this release.

These features are available in the ok google settings on 4.4.2.
The settings were there but they didn't work. Works only on 4.4.3. Or at least that's what I read while trying to find why it wouldn't work for me previously (was on 4.4.2). Since updating, it works great.

Weird I've been using those features since I found them probably a month ago. Unless cleanrom made them work. I just tried it with a dozen random apps and it works fine, plugged in screen off also works fine. I wish it worked without being plugged in and screen off though.

Why does it cause the GPS and BoomSound logo to pop up every 3 seconds or so
Edit: After a day of use that app is garbage, Only works half the time and drains the battery way faster than it should(yes I understand its listening all the time, its worse than that.) Plus its using gps all the time, cant think of a reason it needs my location when all it does is trigger google now to start.
Will updating remove my root??

I've had it for almost a year, and yes it does use its fair share of battery, but u have to program it right. Being that it was made BEFORE Google released the ability to have it listening on all screens , there's an option to have it run ONLY while the screen is off, and I'm not sure what u mean about the gps, because it doesn't use location for me at all. U also have the option to blacklist it during certain apps (donate version ) its most certainly not "garbage" as There's really no other apps out that enable the always listening functionality… and if you do the regular ok google command, that makes the boomsound icon appear as well. So if you're saying your constantly seeing it, that means u didn't set it up right, u had it running ON TOP OF Google's always listening as well… so of course its gonna drain your battery… If u program it to only listen while the screen is off, you'll only notice the boomsound icon for a split second when u turn the screen on, and then it shuts off and googles listening takes over…
