I received my 2nd transformer today (1st went back for light-bleed) and when I unboxed, I noticed that the wall-plug charger was already assembled. I distinctly remember having to assemble the wall charger before use on my first TF.
Is it likely I was sent a TF that was already returned or is pre-assembling the wall charger something Asus is doing with the latest batches of TFs?

Im fairly sure mine came in 2 parts but im sure ive seen people posting stating it was assembled.
I wonder if its anything to do with the fact that they had problems with the early chargers ?
Take it back. Returned item for Sure! Should be in two pieces and wrapped in celophane!

was the box factory/security sealed ?
They are now shipping assembled, mine came assembled and it was wrapped (everything was ) and the box was sealed on both ends. It was also the very first unit that my local Staples store has sold. I bought mine 6 days ago.
My buddy since bought one and his was assembled also.
Yep, everything seemed sealed up properly. Wall charger had cellophane over it.
My first and second one were not assembled, the last 4 that I just tried (first three had speaker imbalance) did come assembled. I wouldn't worry about it unless your box seal was broken.

This will be the first thing I check once its done charging. I'll report back...
Light-bleed...worse than the one I sent back. I'm going to look up the return policy for Kmart. I want to wait till they have these in store so I can do a straight up exchange. My patience is wearing thin and over my dead body am I paying for more shipping. My total cost for the unit is already $30 over retail thanks to these returns.

Ok, so I ordered a used 32GB Transformer on Amazon at a great price, but was wondering even if it is either a B7 or B8 should I even bother keeping it cause I cannot get root? I mean will it really come? I will get it tomorrow and will know more if it can be rooted or not, but if it is not, should I just return it and get something else?
no i dont think you should get something else this is the best out there and allot of people have said that it is the first stock experience they were really happy with and with garenteed ics in the next few months that experience can only get better

Well I am just hoping even if I am lucky enough not to get a B7 or B8, that it can be done for all the others.
I got my used 32gb from Amazon a few days ago, it is a B50. I would be willing to wager yours will be the same. I think Amazon got a bulk purchase returned and are now reselling them. Also so you know, mine came in perfect condition, still had the protective film on the bottom and on the usb cord. It was missing the screen protector film, but otherwise you wouldn't know it was "used". Came in the original box with instruction envelope charger and cord.
the transformer is a great stock device. I've owned about 5 android smartphones(Droid, Droid x, incredible, fascinate, thunderbolt) and rooted them all to feel like they were worth it and usable. I haven't even thought about rooting mine and I got it when it first came out. this tablet is great right out of the box and wouldn't trade it for any other tablet out right now, especially if you got the keyboard.

That gives me a bit a relief, I ordered a 32GB "Like New" one for $311 shipped. I have good things about Amazon Warehouse Deals like new products, some say they "are" brand new for the most part, as you said. I will find out later today when it comes in...got to love Amazon Prime one day shipping!

I was going off a youtube "unboxing/review" video I saw, it showed a plastic film thing on the screen. Nothing you would want to leave on there as it was thick and had lots of air bubbles under it.
As for Amazon prime.......omg I can't tell you how nice it is. For me I don't have to even do the $3.99 overnight, I am in Indiana the warehouse is just across the border in Kentucky so the free two day shipping means overnight to me 99% of the time. I actually got something the same day once
I recently exchanged my Prime for an Infinity and I'm noticing that the latch is not locking all the way. Damn it Asus! haha. Always something wrong. The latch locks partially and then I can slide it all the way to the right, if I don't, it can come off. I expect a 500 dollar device to get this kind of things right. I like the tablet but man I'm not sure I'll buy from Asus ever again.
Did you purchase a new dock or use the dock from the original Prime? Asus has stated that they are not compatible, even though they do work... Others have found the same issue with the tf201 dock...

I have the Prime dock. Yeah the website's search wasn't working but I found a topic where others talked about it. Oh well, I'm just gonna have to deal with it.
Just saw this at the Asus' site:
(The Eee Pad Transformer Prime mobile dock is NOT compatible with Transformer Pad Infinity)
Interesting. I bought the Infinity and the dock to go with it, but it is clearly a 201 dock. The box has a big sticker on it with TF700 but underneath it has the TF201 written above part number.
Mine locks in fine - what Serial number is yours? Mine starts with C7 (the dock, not the tablet)....
I have seen others saying the same thing, but since we essentially have the same dock, it baffles me that min locks perfectly fine and yours does not.
My TF201 dock does exactly the same. Nothing to worry about really. You just have to remember to latch it fully.
Yeah, there is obviously *some* difference in the docking portion of the TF201-specific dock. I know that someone did a teardown of both and they looked identical, but they didn't acutually go to the level of tearing down and comparing the actual docking part of the dock - I'm guessing that is where there is a slight difference...

It starts with C4.
Someone said it locked fine for him after some use, maybe the spring got softer. Hopefully I'll be as lucky.
Mine had docking issues the first few days, too. Had to manually force it to lock. (Push the tablet in as far as it can go and move the slide myself.) Now it works fine.
Bought it as one pack because the Netherlands doesn't have the loose variant at all, but the dock is a 201 regardless.
My UK Infinity supplied with the dock is being returned as the right hand pin doesn't lock the tablet. The lock pin slides completely to the locked position but the tablet can still be lifted out on that side (the left side stays locked).
I have to say I'm very disappointed that a premium device has shipped with such a fault - but have to commend Amazon UK's customer service in getting the issue resolved.
I have the same issue, i bought the device from the u.s but i live in the uk. It has been for repir 3 times and today i got it back and the problem still persists, I have been told that they will not exchange it and all that can be offered is further repairs. Each time i have sent it for repairs they have damaged my device. I am at a loss as to what my next course of action should be? The repair centre is in the czech republic. Can anyone offer any advise please? My dock is the correct one even though it was labled as tf201.i emailed asus with my seriel number and they confirmed it was the correct dock for my infinty.
I have the TF201 dock (the actual TF201 dock, bought at the same time with my ex-Prime). It fits exactly how it is described in this forum where the latch doesn't fully close unless you push it closed.
I think this is because the Infinity feels just a tiny bit thicker around the edges, therefore it doesn't fit properly in the dock and applies more pressure to it.
It's really not much of an inconvenience. I just gotta put a little more force into docking the tablet, and make sure to place the latch properly. In my opinion its not worth sending in for repairs because it works as intended, just needs a little more push since its not technically designed for the TF700.
One little trick to getting the TF700 to fit nice and easy into the TF201 that I found was, when docking it first push the tablet's docking edge a little bit into the docking part of the dock, then place it flush against the back-part of that component. While applying a little pressure to the back-part, slide it into the dock. This alleviates much of the resistance the dock gives usually, and I barely have to apply any more pressure; in fact it feels as if I am sliding the correct tablet, the TF201 into the TF201 dock.
Of course every dock could be different due to bad QC or wear-and-tear. My friend's TF201 dock got really really loose and the TF700 slides right in a little too easy to the point that it rocks a bit in the dock.
If you insist you can try to find the actual TF700 dock, I have never seen one in the wild but I am assuming that it will fit properly with the TF700, without that slight little extra bit of squeeze.

Thanks for your reply but I should explain further. I bought my device from the USA from a company called buyspry. The device has been in for 3 repairs from the UK and the dock does not stay attached. It does not fully lock and has been damaged by the repair centre. I was given the option of something called buy back from asus e.u. I was asked by the service manager in the UK to send a copy of my receipt which I did. I was further told that they would not accept my receipt because it was purchased from ebay and I was told the company are not an authorised asus stockist.
I have contacted this company and they have confirmed that they are an authorised asus stockist. Asus UK will not accept my ebay receipt but I have a commercial invoice. I have emailed the company in the USA and I am awaiting a reply from them as I have requested an email of the commercial invoice which needs to state there VAT number. Hopefully if this is accepted by asus UK I will be given a full refund. The whole process has been a nightmare and as such I regret buying from the USA as replacements are not offered in the UK and no swap stocks are available and the only other option I have is to send it for a further repair. I have owned the device for 2 months and for half that time it has been in for repairs. Each repair was made worse by dents and scratches and the screen bleed is just as bad if not worse. I hope this is of use to anyone experiencing these issues with a device bought from the usa.
Similar problem - which bit did you send back?

i have, not a single problem they quickly sent me a new one in return
Same here (NL). Reported an RMA, they arranged a courier, who picked up the package a few days later. After about a week I received a new one.
I bought an aftermarket USB cable from Amazon. I have to say that It's much better than the stock cable. It's longer, thicker, and where the cable meets the proprietary end of the plug is much more robust.
It feels like it's going to last a lot longer than the flimsy one that came with the device. I was certain I would have been replacing that one every 6 months.
sorry if this has been posted already. Ive always had an extra battery to with me with each of my past phones (og EVO, Epic Touch, Galaxy S3) my EVO lte was an obvious exception. I just hate being tethered to a charger, well I searched and found a nice Samsung charger and extra 2600mah battery system on Amazon, never had a problem with Amazon ever. I order the charger, receive it the next day, when I checked it (my wife had opened it and charged the battery for me by the time I got home from work so I didnt bother looking at the packaging) I get to checking it out and it just kinda felt cheaply made, I shrugged it off. fast forward to the next day, the time comes that I need the extra battery, I pop it in and boot the phone up..........it shows only 94% and it drained pretty quickly (this kinda went with what I initially thought) I then said "eh prolly because its a new battery) next day same thing, I start researching and find info on fake Samsung batteries, the battery had no sign of the moisture indicator was the first clue, second was it said "made in China, assembled in Corea" went home and inspected the packaging, no signs of the hologram Samsung logo anywhere looked at the charger a bit more, while its a great knock off, it just feels cheap and well fake, had it not been for the battery not taking a full charge, I would have thought nothing of it, of course Im sure NFC would not have worked either, but I rarely ever use it. I went ahead and orderd a real charging system from Samsung and sadly it didnt cost much more than the knock off

I bought the same thing from Amazon.
The OEM battery from Samsung is indeed the b600bu.
Comparing the original VZW one with the VZW tag on it. I don't see much of a difference but the moisture indicator as you said doesn't have the red x's as on the VZW but there is a sticker on there and not sure what happens to this sticker if it gets wet.
I haven't noticed a problem with the battery life personally on the OEM + battery charger one.
Mine OEM replacement only says made in Korea, nothing about china.
The Original VZW says Manufactured by Yongbo, cell from japan, manufactured in china.
I don't remember looking for the hologram sticker when I opened the package. Guess I should have checked. LOL.
The battery charging system is white with grey lettering.
Being that I have the 7500 lemon, 2 of these 2600 mah, and one 5200, I get good use out of the charger and swap out whenever and however I tend to need things.
I bet this wasn't sold and shipped by Amazon.
that would be the first thing I look at. I know there many counterfeits from china.
I would not trust buying any battery no matter how cheap (unless I was expecting a fake) not sold and shipped by amazon or Samsung.
just too many fakes out there.
the charging system is super cheap with the coupon for registering your s4 anyhow, I would not get it anywhere else.

Mine was from Amazon LLC. It's partially why I didn't bother looking for holograms when I opened it.

was the item bought direct from amazon or the amazon market where people can list their items.
from you description, it's still hard to confirm it's fake.
many samsung batteries are shipped without the moisture indicator sticker and hologram, and their batteries are now made in many countries and assembled in many countries, which includes china.
try going through a few more charges and see what happens, or just return it for a refund.
FYI, I bought a genuine Samsung 2600mah battery from Phones4U (£25 - free with a coupon I had).
Whenever I charge this or the battery that came with my phone using an external Anker battery charger (Previously bought for 1600mah/1900mah S2 batteries) it will only charge it to 94%.
It's probably a problem with the external charger and not the battery?
nah guys almost 100% certain its a fake, the battery that was included only charges to 94% and discharges fast, the oem battery that came with my phone charged to 100% twice in the questionable charger. This was an item sold by one seller and fulfilled by Amazon (what ever this means) the seller I bought it from (yes I know I should have checked feedback before buying it but when I saw fulfilled by Amazon, I let my guard down) had several complaints of the same thing thing Im most offended by is the fact that it cost $40, I could have just ordered this from Samsung for $50 (which I ended up doing Sunday btw)
You rally have to be careful with those Corean devices. The Corean people just don't have the same work ethic and quality control standards as the Koreans who build the actual Samsung products.
Hahahah!
That's the great thing about Chinese knockoffs. They always get one little detail wrong like that to make it obvious its a fake. Like the fake iPhone will have the apple logo with the bite out of the wrong side. Or the HTC knockoff will have HTC's logo spelled with capital letters instead of lower case. But getting Korea wrong....I mean its like walking distance from China. How do you screw that up?
Anyway Amazon will refund you since it was fulfilled by Amazon. They won't even give you a hard time about it.

Ok, just received the charger and battery I ordered direct from Samsung (cost $10 more than the fake one) and let me tell you, big difference in the weight of the charger itself, the battery is also a bit heavier, the LED doesnt constantly stay lit (the fake chargers LED stayed lit with battery in it or not, the Samsung part does not) and the packaging is all together different, and the Samsung one included a wall plug in micro usb cord :good:

Hi all...I found this deal on Ebay for an Asus 32gb TF300-B1 (not enough posts to leave a link....google search for "Asus 32GB TF300-B1 EEE Pad Transformer" should pull the listing in the first few entries).
It seems to have the same specs as the TF300F. Is this the same machine as TF300F and therefore can flash ROMS developed for it? Is this a good deal (it's refurbished of course)? worth the bother? etc...
Thanks for any info you can provide!
OK never mind....

I bought a Refurbished TF300T for the same price on Ebay. Works great for me and in great condition. I would definitely recommend preping to put a ROM on it if you get it, mine suffers from some lag in some of the Chrome/Internet browsers, but oythers have reported it as well. I dont game on it so I can't really comment on that, but for Surfing the web, Netflix, XBMC, Reading...media consumtion...it fits my needs perfectly. Will be even better when I get a clean, stock Rom on it.
Since my TF300T motherboard failed (according to Asus tech) They want $200 to fix it. I found that Fry's is selling a brand new Tf300T for $200. I guess I will have to buy that one as Asus does not warranty their parts or repairs. I just bought a case for my tablet and docking station 2 days before my tablet died. It hadnt even arrived before I sent the tablet to Asus.
Please ignore this. I just went to order and it is out of stock. Sucks. I have a dock, a new case for both, and a great leather case for tablet only. what a waste. Thank you Asus for not caring about your customers.
I was only 3 months out of warranty when it went out. I guess I wont be buying any other Asus components for the computers I buy if they have such low quality customer service.

Sounds like the motherboard, except they rarely, if ever, go out like that without some kind of impact. Did you try to charge it? I mean if the battery ever comes loose for example, it evidently cannot turn on.
If you bought a refurbished, all the more reason to open it and troubleshoot. You're in San Diego. If you want, I can loan you a working motherboard without audio so you can try to make sure it's your motherboard.
