Im trying to understand whats going on with this app i turned the toast notifications on and i left out of the app is it leaving me logged in to facebook chat to receive new messages?
when i left out of it one time i had a new notification on the tile and there was a new message for me but when i left out again i wasnt getting anymore notifications but i was receiving messages am i missing setting or something here or is it a glitchy app at this point?
I feel the same way. I don't know if it's the OS or just the App.

Got a weird bug that's started today. When I receive a message I have my little screen bubble with a smiley in it for handcent and no a black and white envelope and my ring tone plays twice too? I disabled notifications in the stock app so no idea why I get this other notification? It stays there until i clear it or click, and clicking just takes me to handcent??
Anyone help?

do you have any other message app installed on your phone that shows the messages or otherwise?
oh and if you have handcent set up as default message application, that will be why it goes to handcent. to me it sounds like another app notifying you. one that comes to mind for me would be pure messenger widget. or another app that uses multiple messaging methods (e-mail, sms etc)

No I dont but I figured it out. I went through and unistalled a couple of apps i installed last night. turned out it was beautiful widgets pack 2? couldnt access this app to change settings etc, but tis all fine now!

I was wondering if it was possible to get my Windows Phone to vibrate on toast notifications... Any hack?
I'd especially like to have my WP to vibrate when I receive facebook notifications or message...

Going for the obvious, but you do have vibrations turned on in the Settings right?
I know FB notifications don't get sent as toast, and thus don't vibrate, but other apps (BBC News Mobile's for example has a Breaking News) that get sent via toast and my phone vibrates when it arrives.
The new Facebook Application does delivery notifications as toast message, so it makes the phone vibrate/ring everytime it gets the notification.

I've been trying to disable talk application to display text of incoming messages (security risk), while still being notified when new message arrives. Not an option . You can either disable notifications for good, make them pop up (even worse) or have it as it is by default: showing you a line of text from last message you received.
I installed trillian IM hoping it would have the option I need, but with no luck. I'm perfectly happy with talk app btw, but lack of this option is simply plain old stupid.
Does anyone know how to resolve this or some other IM messenger that I could use instead, which has this nice little option?

So I chat in GTalk all day while at work, just got the N5, and now I keep getting a Hangouts notification as I chat with a friend.
Is there any way to stop this from happening? Dont need my notification light blinking for the next 9 hours.
I don't know if this is the correct forum but I can't think of any other place to put it. Sorry if I'm mistaken.
Thing is, when I'm in the Hangouts app on my phone chatting with someone and that someone replies to me the Hangouts notification comes up. It's weird because I'm on the app, I don't need to be notified for the conversation I'm having on the foreground!
It's so annoying because of the sound and also because of the statusbar constantly switching to show the notification.
Is this normal or is just my phone??
