Works for CM7.1?
For those that would like a different modem zip, just download the modem of your liking, and (if these zips work on the latest nightly) and replace the modem.bin inside the zip. Rezip it, and rename it (for your own sake of knowing what modem it is beforehand)
Sorry for the delay had to help my mom peel some corn, yes its working with 7.1 just tested KC1 and works perfectly, I'll post it now
Let me jump on my grandpas com and go to dropbox and do the whole shibang
Here ya go, hahaha wish the SDK was on here, here ya go homie, stay up!

Yes, very much exactly what I did. It's Memorial day down here in San Jose and I thought I'd try to lend a helping hand out if anyone needed it.
If you go to the modem sticky and click on the paperclip it will bring up all kinds of modems. Just look for some that say CM7 and they will work fine for CM7 #16 or older. Also I posted quite a few links to modems I have used in the CM7 thread and modem sticky thread. I broke it down for CM7 #16 and older and CM7 7.1 since they use different radio partitions. You may be able to click on my username and find the kinks I have posted. The modems you listed are older modems but jk4 for me has always been the best. The past few days I have been using JV6 modem and it is as good as jk4 but seems to be having better battery life. JV6 is the first gingerbread modem released and came out this week.

You don't get it. The Q&A forum has no restrictions. There's a CM7 sticky in it open to all. Dev is NOT the place for newbies to post.
Well I'm sorry, I'm just a teenager and tense some slight disrespect, I take full accountability for my mistake and now know, for future references, what to do but in the end, I was trying to help plain and simple to the best of MY abilities. [Q] Is there anyone running a "custom built" version of CM7 that they could share?
Hi all...
I would like to try a CM7 ROM on my Infuse but I am in no way too technical to make my own from source so...
I am wondering if there is anyone here who has built a nice CM7 from source that could maybe share so I can give it a go???
I hope this is not too much to ask and I thank you in advance...

No its not that he does not want it posted on that thread, he does not want it posted at all until it is finished.
If you look at other rom threads there are tons of questions that should not have been there. What he is doing is like a semi private beta, it will help fix problems faster without having to answer simple questions. Things like who do I flash this, will it work with this kernel, and such.
Now I am not saying that its not on the web but you will have to find it and not ask for a link.
I dedicated a virtual machine to building CM7, so I can pull from the source rep and do a snapshot build pretty much anytime.
Problem is that we are not supposed to share it. LinuxBozo posted somewhere why this restriction, but I don't recall the link. Maybe someone could remind what the url to that post is.

People, if you want to share your own builds, I can't stop you. Hell, I don't even really care. I just ask if you do share, don't post them in the original thread, and make sure that whoever you are sharing with understands that this is currently not finished, has issues (especially with BT right now), and that unless they know what 'dmesg' and 'logcat' are, they will get absolutely no support from me and are on their own.

You guys have to understand from his point of view. Do u know how many questions or post saying things need to get fixed would pop up the whole reason around building your own from source is that if you can do that you should be able to put out questions and answer that help instead of simple or complex things that have being covered if you have the basic understanding and you can actually help with issues address them correctly ina Manet that helps fix it than its easier to get things sorted out before a release. So he doesn't want them in the original thread. I would suggest if you can find someone to share it since you have the approval now have them pm you not share it over the thread or any other thread and don't share it your self so it doesn't cause the other thread or any other to get cramped with questions that can or can't be answered. So if you get it keep it to yourself to help with that factor

ok, so given that it is better not to post links to home-brew builds on these forums, I figured to put mine here:
http://tools.1url.ws/cm7infuse.php
for who's craving to run CM7 on their infuse, and doesn't have the time/setup/etc. to build it on his own.
All the warnings, disclaimers, etc. stand of course. No support provided, no guarantee I'll build more in the future. As time allows every few days I plan to grab the latest sources and do a new build to post it there.
At this time I'm using the 10/12/2011 build, and aside from the known issues, works pretty well for me. But then again, you might end up having a totally different experience.

Who else wants to see a separate forum for completely stock (maybe also deodexed) roms and leaks, separate from all the custom roms? It might help out newer users who haven't noticed the naming schemes for leaks etc. It could also have a stickied thread guiding them to what's the latest available leak. The dev section is pretty cluttered :/
That definitely sounds like a great idea. Then again, there could also be a compiled list of leaks and deodexed ROMs, just like what Whitehawkx did.
Maybe I'll start working on that this weekend if people actually want it.

I'll let this poll run for another day then I'll contact a mod to see if they can do anything.
That's a good plan and will help all new comers to this forum.
I like it to - maybe if so - have the devs post if the rom is for Froyo or GB ?? Im a noob myself and I understand most - but still trying to figure out all the kernels and differences between KI3 or KG4... and what not.
Ditto.. Would definately help newcomers. It only took me a couple hours to figure things out but I'm sure it would help total noobs....

Could you list links to each modem individually along with the package. The package is nice and all, but I hate to have to download the entire package when a new modem comes out. Either that or dig through the leak thread for the first person to package it up. That is what made GTGs thread so amazing, having the individual link to each modem.
Update: tried KK1, got abysmal data speeds <.2 Mbps, KI3 is still king, followed by KJ2.

Which file is right?
So I searched around and found this thread while looking for the community kernel (old I know). But when I'm flashing this kernel, which of the files am I supposed to choose? I see a cert.sf, cert.rsa, manifest.mf, update-binary, updater-script, and then in the other folder a redbend_ua, and zImage...I'm kind of new to this Thanks for the help!
EDIT: I managed to figure out it was the zImage file. But my problem is that when I try to flash that, it takes a little while before it just tells me it failed to verify kernel (something along those lines) and then it doesn't flash it. Am I doing something brutally wrong? I already have CWM installed as per the video linked by the "Super Everything" thread on XDA. Could somebody maybe re-upload this kernel please?
Also, if I were to flash a different ROM, like say Serendipity VII, then do I still need to flash a kernel before hand? Or can I just download the ROM to my sdcard and install it with CWM? Thanks for the help!

I ran Serendipity as my first ROM, and ran it on my cappy also, to include my boys cappys
http://serendipityinfuse.weebly.com/index.html
Just follow the instructions on the above.
But if you want to try another ROM, you will have to go back to stock, well I had but I do on a regular bases...use this below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524081
Do not unzip the PDA_Community_Voodoo_Kernel_v8.tar.md5 file. Use Odin and because the file name starts with PDA, load it in the PDA slot and flash.
Bigjoe: So just to confirm, I can go straight from UCKH1 with cwm and rom manager and NO community kernel flashed to serendipity? All I have to do is put the file onto my phone and boot into CWM(mine usually goes into blue then I click reinstall packages and then it goes to green) and then wipe data and cache and then install the file from my sdcard? He isn't very clear in his instructions when he says just flash the rom as one step haha
Also, on the original topic, the file that was uploaded on minus at the to of this thread isn't a PDA tar file. It's the community kernel zip. So I was trying to flash it with sgs kernel flasher. Is that wrong?

First off, a huge thanks to our friend, Sextape! This leak is courtesy of him. All thanks and donations should go to him.
This leak is for the unreleased Samsung Epic 2 (SPH-D705)! It is build EG03. Build EG03 was an experimental build in preparation for the final build but where the decision was made to not release the phone this was the final build for it.
It is a Gingerbread based ROM and appears to be mostly compatible with the original Samsung Epic and the Samsung Epic 4G Touch with only minor modifications. I myself do not have an Epic to test on so I haven't been able to do much with it. I've played around with it on the E4GT and have had relative success porting it over but I've got to many other projects on my plate to spend too much time on it.
I am posting it here for those that are interested in taking on the challenge.
The leak is in a TAR format and contains all the image files for flashing. I've taken them apart and they appear to be very similar to the stock GB for the Epic and the E4GT.
The TAR file is packaged within a self extracting 7zip archive. The TAR file is packaged within a self extracting 7zip archive. Once extracted the contents can be flashed as a full TAR file with Odin or Mobile Odin. The individual components can be extracted from the TAR file and also be flashed the same way. Links to both Odin and Mobile Odin are in Post #2.
At this point I've only posted the full TAR. If there is enough demand I can split out the contents and create flashable ZIP etc.
Files: SPH-D705_EG03.exe
Enjoy!

That was actually intentional. I talked to the mods and they felt that since the Epic and the E4GT were the closest phones to the unreleased Epic 2 that this would be the best place to post this. We're hoping that those here can use what we've posted to add to what we already have for the Epic.

OT, but yeah that's what folks are saying - getting signal where they couldn't before. Some say the signal costs them more battery though. But you won't know for sure till you try. It's really low-pain now that you can flash full modem.bin's in CWM.
