Its even worse now. I cannot get the screen to turn off at all during a call. Anyone else try?

Mine works much better then before!
I have made several test calls and even placing my entire hand over the sensor it won't shut off the screen.

I've had similar issues. It hasn't been so severe that the screen wouldn't turn off at all. My screen turns on and off while on a call. I've been looking for an app to recalibrate the proximity sensor but haven't found one. The DHD has an app but none yet for the TB...
Could be the kernel you are using too.
I'll be watching for a fix also. I'm having the proximity sensor issues of the screen turning off and on constantly during a call. I'm running BAMF 1.4 and kernel 4.4.2 OC'd to 1.2 with smartass gov.

BAMF 1.4 isn't the updated base that was leaked. So you don't have the update.
OP - What rom and kernel are you running?
I too suggest trying a different kernel. I was having issues before with the screen not coming after moving phone away from my face on ziggy's kernel. Switched Kernel and on the new radio and it now works perfect.

Mine has always worked poorly on all Roms and kernels including stock.

I mistyped. I am running BAMF 1.5 (remix) with supplied 4.4.2 kernel OC'd to 1.2 with smartass gov.
If I continue having issues this week at work, maybe I'll try going back to 4.3c which is what I was using on stock ROM before BAMF 1.5 (remix). If issues persist, I'll try 4.3b for first time. If issues persist, I'll cuss and live with it
Appreciate the responses and resources!
Also try changing the governor. I have noticed that smartass still has some quirks.
Any free app out there that will keep the stock home screen and allow me to use the volume rocker to wake up the phone?
I know widget locker and simple home screen do the job but I was wondering if there is anything else out there.
Thanks.
I swear I saw this somewhere but was never able to find it. I started thinking it does not exist. I'm in if it exists I want it bad.

Cm7 has an option to enable it. I don't know of any market app that would do this though

Cm had a long pressfor an application option but I don't recall it actually waking up the screen.

Anyone else having issues with the internal gyroscope/accelerometer? Whenever i try to get the runner to shift, it have to literally rotate the phone 45 degrees or more. My tablet and iPhone don't need this? Any ideas on how to increase the accelerometer sensitivity phone- wide?
pretty sure its a game issue as it is their first release, give it some time it will be hashed out I'm sure.
I forgot to mention the real reason i posted this--
My phone had a rather harsh fall onto concrete, i was wondering if that could've messed up its internals. Hope it was just a glitch!
Same! I have to turn 45 degree. I look like an idiot playing it. XD
I have this same issue with my tilt controlled games as well. (Doodle Jump & now Temple Run) seems to be a gyroscope calibration issue but since we don't have a way to calibrate (not included on stock rom) then were pretty much stuck playing at a 45° angle.

Mine seems more responsive when held parallel to the ground, but I don't have any issues holding it perpendicular to the ground, in fact just testing this, I scored one of the highest runs I've had yet. I'm running stock 2.3.3
Damn, i was hoping there would be simple fix
Where did you find temple run for Android?

Found it

I'm running Hellfire Sandwich 1.4 and I had to tilt a lot to get the coins on the edge, but then I flashed this new kernal, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1567097, and tilt is very responsive.

I have hfs and harsh kernel. Buttery smooth

Same here, I have to turn it quite a bit, even with maximum sensitivity. I thought that was the way it was supposed to be.

I'm on HFP 2.0 and temple run is buggy as hell. sometimes it doesn't register my flicks and is frustrating as hell. hopefully because it's just the first build...

What kernel are you using? I remember back when on CM7 based roms, Draw Something wouldn't work, unless you used Faux's kernel.
Sent from my amazing G2x running EaglesBlood and Faux.
ya, im running HFS1.4 with harsh kernal and it works fine... BUT on my wifes phone running HFP2.0 with the faux kernal it came with tilt barely works... strange..
I've noticed that it works perfectly on weapon g2x, I think it's an issue with cm7 based roms
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
I believe it's a kernel issue.
It doesn't work on ANY cm7 kernels.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
Works on Faux + EB. I have to tilt it a bit but I've gotten used to it.
Sent from my amazing G2x running EaglesBlood and Faux.
I tested it on hfp with faux weird sensor annoying game play having to tilt like crazy, hfs with new 3.0.2.6 kernel and now fantastic game play

Just gauging how many of you are still using Trinity kernel considering it hasn't been updated in months, while Faux is continually working on his kernel.
I've noticed freezing/overheating issues with Faux but I like that it's updated often enough.
Edit: By no means am I putting down Trinity kernel, just interested in the numbers

Trinity has been solid for a long time. My phone works much better with it. No need to update for the sake of updating.
Harsh is far better for.both of my g2x

On GB:
I prefer Trinity. It's been stable for some time and I can run my G2x for 35+ hours on moderate use. I've used Faux, but somehow I came back to Trinity.
On ICS:
I used Harsh when I was on ICS. But my experience in ICS generally has not been good (LG/NVidia not releasing drivers). So I came back to GB.
I prefer Faux
Trinity works better on my g2x. I think faux is a bit more aggressive, and my phone just acts better with the more conservative kernel.

+1 well put
Trinity
Faster, longer battery life, more stable.. my phone does not like faux kernels at all. But I can run trinity elpmax at minus fifty milivolts and have no problems

On stock based 2.3.4 I like the stock kernel or Faux 014b2. On CM7 based I prefer TrinityELP for stability and batt life. I do find since Faux's 050 builds battery seems as good as ELP, and Faux has seemed to make scrolling super smooth. But Faux is still just a bit unstable on my phone. I am currently using the djvoleur adaptation of Harsh for CM7 roms. Its good too. I've had no probs with flashing between any of these kernels other than LED touch keys cannot be set to off when using Faux or Harsh.
I am a fan of all 3 - really...
Trinity ELP for GB
I tried everything out there and always go back to that. Fast, smooth, and good battery life. Plus it seems to be the only one that my phone's bluetooth can stay connected to my car's stereo. with other kernel (maybe coincidence), the two refuse to connect after a few connect/disconnect cycles.
also, many people say 24+ hr of moderate use. Is that with stock battery?
to me, moderate use = 3-4hr screen on time. 1hr phone call. wifi, BT, 4G, GPS always left on. 50% screen brightness. I typically get 12-18hr with trinity.
Heavy would be 5+hr screen on and more
Trinity gives me sleep of death, faux overheats and freezes I'm using the kernel that came with cm7 without any problems. Though I did get the SOD before I installed the build.prop tweaks

I've always been a big fan of morfic's Trinity ELP kernel (dated Feb. 6th, 2012). Unfortunately I don't see this kernel linked on his old site (just the ones dated in 2011).
faux all the way!!!!
I can't seem to find a current custom JB ROM with that much needed feature. Most ICS ROMS have it, but since JB seems smoother overall I'd rather stay with it.
Cm10 has it. As does rasbeanjelly from euroskank website.

so does AOKP but it's only used on the navbar (on-screen buttons) back button.

Does it work with capacitive buttons on our nexus?
I think on screen buttons are retarded (nav bar)
Anyways I'll check your guys suggested Roms once I'll get home.
Thx everyone
Like it or not, on-screen buttons are the way of Android going forward. Everyone has their own prefs. Personally, I do like customizable nav bar. Capacitive buttons do burn batt juice, maybe negligible but still use some batt. I have a nav bar power off button, saves the wear on the physical power button by at least half life. Instant recent apps button, no need to hold home button, no remap necessary. Sure it takes up some screen assets on the NS but worth it for me.

I just installed codename android 3.5 and it has hold back to kill feature that works on capacitive buttons...I'm rather happy with that ROM paired with air kernel
Thx everyone for your suggestions
