handcent: see all sms received

I try for some day handcent sms,I like it a lot,but I have a problem:
Handcent don't display the old sms that I receivet. it display the last (i don't count the number) that i received.
How can I do for see all sms received?

someone can help me?

I believe if you go into settings in Handcent you should have a setting to show a button to display older messages. It is either in receive messages settings or customize, I forget which. Unfortunately, this may only work AFTER you have enabled it. Try going into the stock messaging app to see if you can find the message(s)
you are looking for. Also, there is a setting that is in both Handcent and the stock app how many messages to save. Try setting it to a higher number (500 instead of 200). Hope this helps.

Problems with Handcent?

Is anybody else having problems with Handcent? I can't seem to get the popup and sound notification to work.

Nevermind. Handcent updated and now it's working perfectly.

I made the switch to GoSMS and never looked back, never had a problem with it so far. It has all of the same features Handcent does.

I've noticed a small issue where sometimes when doing a quick reply in the popup from handcent it may not send the SMS and you still have to access the app properly to send it, but it's random and not consistent.

Text to speech not working
Hi I am using a custom rom (CM7) on my motorola milestone. I have also installed safereader from vlingo but I cannot seem to get my texts to speech working when a new text comes in. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Why do you say that? Using Handcent now, but always love trying new apps.

Go Sms is the best one, I have tried them all.

No more sms notifications!

The name of the thread says it all, i'm not getting any more notification for the sms i get.
No sound, no icon in the notification bar, nothing...
I'm just able to see that i have a new message because i set Handcent to display the number of unread sms on the Launcher Pro dock.
Yes, i have checked all the settings, yes, i have tried other application, yes i have tried to change my rom (tried the stock 2.3.4 , reseted it, didn't work, so i installed the CM 7.1 RC...).
It's kind of annoying, i have to wake up the phone now to check the new sms, it's killing the fun!
Anyone has had the same problem? Anyone knows what could have caused it? I didn't change anything at all, it started with no reason.
FYI i'm french, living in france, Nexus S i9023, and getting pissed off because of that thing XD

ok, one more try.
My provider kept the phone for one month trying to fix the problem, which they did by "updating the software"... bulls**t as it was already the latest version of anything available on my phone. The problem is still here, i can't get any notification for my SMS!!
The thing is, while they had my phone repaired, i used my old HTC Hero... And i got the same trouble! It seems the problem is my google account! BUT i tried with a new adress i created just to check it out... And i had the same problem...
To be honest, i'm fed up having to wake up the phone to check the sms!
I can't find a reason why my notifications are off now!
I tried a non-android phone (samsung player one) and i got all the notifications!
It's driving me crazy, does anyone have a clue???

i had the same issue ever since I bought my Nexus S but the setting for vibrating when you receive a text message is in the Messaging app after you press the menu key and go into settings
Messaging App --> Menu Key --> Settings --> Notification Settings

Helped on JB4.1.2 by turning SMS notification off (yes, it was on by default, but no Notification) and then on again after exiting the sms app.

I had the same problem...
fullwiped, reflashed gapps, worked again.
If you're not willing to wipe, I remember that Go SMS was the only sms.apk able to notify me of incomming text at the time. You may give it a try

with android 4.1.2 this problem is solved

[Q] Randomly receive text messages but can not read

Hi,
Desire S with ROM Fallout Evolution 5.0: randomly I receive text messages (sound, led flashes: an sms was REALLY send) but I can not read it: no notification icon, no numbers on sms icon.
If I guess who is the sender, usually I send him/her an sms: "did you write to me an sms?". :crying:
So:
receiving sms sound + led flashing
there aren't notification icon or number of sms on sms icon. In sms list there aren't new sms.
sms was really send from someone
I have Light Flow app to manage notification. Normally (when I can successfully read incoming sms) I can hear 2 notification sound (one from sms native sms app + one from Ligh Flow).
Otherwise (when the problem happens, and I can't read incoming sms) I can hear only 1 notification sound (I suppose from native sms app).
What can I do? I've just re-flashed the ROM with complete wipe.

Have you tried uninstalling light flow to check whether that's the problem?

By any chance you're using the sms app by the dev?

No. Do you think that may be the problem? It's only a notifications manager app... I'm using it because (as you know...) HTC notify new sms for 5 minutes only.
So, I'll try to uninstall it...

I don't know, if it could be the problem, but I think it's worth trying as I haven't heard of anyone else with that problem on fallout. Another option would be to flash a different rom, and see if the problem remains.
Did you restore sms from a previous ROM?

I've restored sms from Fallout v.2.0
I can try to backup sms and then delete all sms --> empty. And see if the problem remains...

So, I've uninstalled Light Flow notification manager app: the problem remains...
Then I've backuped all sms, and then deleted them (I've let 2 sms on sim card only).
But, randomly, the problem remains... :crying:
Any suggestion?

No new text notification while screen is on and in conversation

I have had the M8 since release and I've always had the issue of no new notification, if I receive a text while the screen is on and I'm still in the current conversation. Example: I'll text someone back, put the phone down without turning the screen off but don't check it unless I hear the notification go off. I'll get a new text but I won't receive a notification (vibrate, ringer or LED).
I've tried 8SMS and Hangouts and the issue is still there. I've tried to search for any solutions but nothing has pointed me to a similar thread (could be keywords I'm using). For now, I try to hit the home button when I'm finished sending my text in hopes I would get the notification.
Can somebody point me to a fix or suggest a fix? I'm rooted and s-off'd but running stock ROM.

By any chance. Do you use sms backup and restore? I know that when I use it, that specific app forces me to set the restore app as my default sms app and I don't get any text notifications.

I used it originally to transfer texts over but I use SMS Backup+ daily to auto back to my Gmail account.
I get notifications but if I receive texts after I text someone without hitting the home button, I don't receive a notification.
