It's tricky at first.
Hold vol down + power, as soon as you see two lines of wordings appear you have to push vol up button within 5 secs. Took a couple of try but it's easy more for me. Also you can get the transformer boot into recovery app

Recovery without ROM Manager?

Has anyone discovered a way to enter recovery without using ROM Manager? Like on other phones, we can hold down the volume and power buttons and it'll do it, but that only resets the G2x. Other options? All Google Apps were erased from stock when my phone crashed, so I have no way to restore the stock I have saved on my SD card.
Did you use NVFlash to flash CWM? If so, then you can indeed boot into recovery by holding the volume down and power buttons simultaneously. Just hold them for about 10 to 15 seconds and it should boot into recovery and not factory reset your phone.

Booting into ClockworkMod Recovery
Power off your phone.
Hold Vol Down + Power.
Keep holding them, as soon as you see "ANDROID" in Green with the new boot logo let go of the buttons.

can't get into recovery

Hi i just flashed my transformer to this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514658
and now i can't go into recovery help please
Vol down plus power button and when you see words at top left corner you must push Vol up within 5 second.
Alternative is use the "Transformer boot into recovery" app from market.
Btw what is it doing when you try to get into recovery?
Are you trying to get into recovery by an app, or using the buttons as baseballfanz described?
If you cannot get into recovery using the buttons you may have to reinstall the "RecoveryInstaller.apk" for CWM to get it working again.
I can boot into Clockwork Recovery using the app but actually what is the exact button combinations to boot in to Clockwork Recovery?
Thanks.

Turn off. Hold VOL DOWN and POWER for about 10-12 seconds until small text appears. Tap the VOL UP within 5 seconds of when it says to press VOL UP to enter RCK.

Hi,
I have my Nexus S rooted.
However I wanted to unroot it so I tried following steps for this, which include getting into recovery mode.
So I pressed power and Volume Up button and then selected RECOVERY and then again power button, but after it gets stuck at Google screen with unlock icon.
Please help!

[Q] Rogers HTC One X Bricked and need advice

Cellphone versions:
Android 4.1.1
firmware Software Version: 3.17.631.2
I unlocked the cellphone, installed TWRP and SuperSu, rooted it. Everything was fine here.
I tried to install CleanROM 7.0R2 from TWRP. It said successful under TWRP screen. But after reboot, I could not power it up, their is no response to the power button.
I could not enter either recovery or fastboot. Press the power button and volume - will only lead me to the "htc quietly brilliant" screen, and after several seconds, it powered off.
No red light upon charging. And PC could not recognize the cell phone when connected. The battery should still have 90% power.
Anyone has any idea for it? I am hopeless
Thanks a lot for your help!
Your phone isn't bricked.
If you're s-on you need to flash the boot.img from the ROM zip via fastboot after flashing the ROM in recovery, full directions in my How-To Guide For Beginners thread (link in my signature).
You need to get the phone booted into the bootloader. Hold the volume down button, then hold the power button (so you're holding both buttons together), after a couple of seconds let go of the power button but continue to hold the volume down button until you reach the white screen with text, this is your bootloader.
While you're at it please post the first five lines of your bootloader screen.

Thank you so much for your help. Yes, I succeed to go to bootloader and flashed the boot.img based on your link. Now I had the ROM running.

Awesome!

SM-G955F root attempt failed.

Hello,
I'm trying to root my device.
I've installed the Samsung usb drivers.
The problem is that Odin gets stuck on "recovery.img" while trying to install twrp.
I even tried Heimdall but nothing works..
Help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hello my friend. I had the same problem before. What you have to do in order to install TWRP is to press vol up + Bixby + power BEFORE to click on START and hold the buttons until Samsung screen shows up.
Then, you can flash and get root via recovery.
