[Q] Did your transformer came pre-charged? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I just got my transformer 2 days ago and my unit was not pre-charged while i noticed some others in the store was pre-charged, the salesperson just told me to charge it at home, which I did and everything seems to be fine so far. My question is that is it normal for the device not to be pre-charged ? My IPad 1 came pre-charged and from my understanding is that these devices should be pre-charged at the factory to have an optimal battery life (or something along those lines). So is this normal? Was yours pre-charged or otherwise?

Pre-charged with about half battery.

I'm sure it left the factory fully charged but by the time you take it home could be days to weeks

Yup, mine was precharged to about 60%.

It was about half - I left it on for a while as I was reading the brief instruction manual and taking pictures of everything

It's usually best practice to store Lithium Ion batteries between 60 and 75% battery life.

Mine was at 2%, two...

Two? That sucks! Mine was 23%...
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App

mine was pre-charged at 60%

mine was dead as a door nail, I bought mine from Walmart and received it sometime last week. However when I bought the Acer iconia from bestbuy it had about half charge

sounds like we're having difference ranges of battery charge off the shelf..wonder if its normal?

12% here, partner's was ~15%

Mine was 60% out of the box.

22% here

I was surprise at how low mines was when I got it. It was at 15 %.

Mine was at 30%.

Why does it matter? Follow the instructions and stick it on the charger for 8 hours or until it is full. Give the battery a chance to calibrate.

Infuse time to charge battery

What's up with this, i had my phone plug in now for two hours and is at 49% from 5% that it was when i plug it in. I am using the wall charger.
Is this normal, or do i have a bad battery.
It would take my old phone about hour to fully charge (iphone).
seems really slow. I was using my wall charger also might try and different wall charger or PC next time

I would think the PC would take even longer since it puts out less power via USB. I'll give it a shot next time i drain the bat.
I wonder if we will see it speed up after the first few full drains. It just seems really weird might be a bug who knows.
My first charge was awfully slow, it's been charging much faster since the initial charge. I would say give it a few days before you go swapping the chargers out.
i believe my captivate was slow charging for the first week or so.
Same here. Charges about 15% an.hour. was on the charger at 21% for approximately 3hrs and 56 minutes last night... if I used it at all while it was charging its almost like it would pause.. the battery stat wouldn't go up at all!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
So 4 hours later i am at 82% and charging.
I did have to unplug at around 55% for about 20 min while i went somewhere.
This is ridiculous.
Ive noticed the same thing. Hopefully it will get faster.
Yea samsung is known for that on my captivate and epic which is why I need to make it through to the night so I can plug in and forget about it.
Taking my phone back to swap out. Is taking 5 to 6 hours to charge. I cannot have the phone plug in that long. While I can do I overnight I will loose charge in the day and will have to have it plug in the whole time to charge it up.
I called Samsung and they said 3 to 4 hours Max.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
Yes charging is definitely slow, it took about 5 hrs to charge from 30 to 100%! This is my 2nd Infuse so swaping won't help.
I use Kindle's white charger (750ma i think), and it seems to charge relatively fast.
It is a 1750mah battery, so it will take longer.
Overall, u just need a more powerfull charger.

iPhone i think is 1400, i know Captivate is 1500...
1750 is a HUGE difference and will take longer to charge, but you should get almost 2 full days with it on good usage...

I've yet to see over 9hours with slightly heavy use. I would be glad to see 24hrs let alone 2days.
Yeah first several days are always sucky when it comes to battery life.
However, just look at official battery life specs - infuse is 8 hour vs captivate's 5.
Also standby is longer. I think it'll be fine when it's broken in and we don't play with the new toy as much.
I had to go through a few charging cycles with mine and now it's fast charging. Glad I got rid of the Atrix last Sunday.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
Ya it takes time to break in I guess. I'm using kindle charger now which is probably slower. Using the charger that came with (or I know my nook color charger is 2a) would probably be faster
I seriously have no idea what the freak some of you are doing with your phones.
I think maybe some of you are possibly spoiled by NOW NOW NOW....I GET WHAT I WANT NOW OR YOU WILL PAY FOR IT WAAAAAHHHHHHH.
Patience. One week into ownership and HEAVY use after 4 days I can charge my phone 25% - 100% in 2 hours.

Chichitech vs. Anker

Hey guys I've got both batteries and so far the chichi tech has been giving me significantly more life then the Anker. Both batteries have been treated the same way, popped in, fully charged without the phone off, then used till the phone died and charged back up to full (2x) so far I notice that my chichitech is giving me about 3 hours more than the Anker. Is anyone else getting these findings?
Typical daily use: total of an 1-2 hours game (gun bros, cut the ropes) a ridic amount of texting, light web browsing, and heavy email use.
so how many hour does the Anker give you? hours Chichitech?
I haven't bought any but I'm leaning more towards the Chichitech.
This thread can tip sales in favor of one brand
pinch of salt!
The chichitech are more expensive though. But they do come in pairs. I only need one and don't like paying for things I don't need. The anker battery is £9.
I might wait a little while longer as I believe it is still too early to see if these batteries are good. Need to see how they hold their charge in the long-term as we all know battery life is reduced over time.

Yes it is, I'm running my battery down now and will recharge tonight and post back when it dies manana mi amigos. Stay posted.
In that case I might consider grabbing the Chichitech 1930mAH for EVO3D to get even more juice!

That;s what I did! Will report back with how it went.
Chichitec rocks socks.
I completely discharged , then charged in the wall charger 3x. Then I kept it in the phone the next cycle, overnight, and the thing took off ever since.
I've been getting a full days use with, normal for me use, where im usually dying by 5 or 6 pm I'm now left with battery to spare when I go to bed between 10-12.
I unplug in the morning around 7 am.
Couldn't be happier, and for a normal day I wont need a spare. :-D

That sounds awesome. I ordered one a few days ago over the anker. Can't wait for it to get here. Anyone can confirm the battery temp sensor works properly or accurately for the chichitec. I read from anker thread that some people are not getting correct readings.
I have both. I am at 14% right now with my anker and its been off the charger since yesterday at 9 am. It's 11:45 am, so that's 27 hours. Chichitec is yielding about the same results for me. Anker wins because its half the price.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
I am a bit skeptical about chichitech, I have bought 2 batteries from them for my old g2. I only used one of those, and it does not give me no substantial difference with a 500 mAH difference (1400 vs. 1900 mAH). But my anker battery so far is working very good for my sensation. noticeable difference with the stock battery (not as significant as I would expect, but let see).

So I'm about at 9% battery and its been 10 hours and 18 minutes with the Anker. Far less then what I get with my chichitec. However to be honest I bet if I bought another chichitec battery and another anker battery, my results would be switched. These batteries are probably drastically different from make to make. I feel its the luck of the draw with both manufacturers either you get an awesome battery or you don't.
I have never made pass 6 hrs on stock batt. With the ankers I get 9 hrs heavy use.

Please report your findings also, im very interested.
So far so good, received my Chichitec and I did my first full cycle yesterday. I drained it when I got it, charged it overnight and started using it as normal from 10AM.
I made it until I went to bed, at 15h uptime with 3:30 hours display time and slightly heavier usage than normal. This left the battery at 19%.
On the stock battery I could barely make it past 2:20 hours of display time at around 10-15% battery left by the time I usually go to bed.
1900mAh? I don't know, but I do know these batteries are definitely lasting longer than stock.

Battery charge issues

Hello all. I had an issue w/ my proximity sensor so I got an AE. It was defective, so I got ANOTHER AE.
Since I owned my EVO I always get extended batteries. I bought a 2750mah and it worked great. Then it started charging slowly.
I got giftcards to Best buy for my birthday so I got a new on there. (Sedio 3400 I believe)
Now when I try to charge my phone, it will literally take 2 hrs or so to get 15-20% charged.
I use my handset heavily, but w/ my EVO it was like 2hrs = a full charge and all day heavy use got me to a minimum of 25%.
I know LTE is to blame for a little battery drain, but any ideas? Full charge to 30% in like 5 hrs sometimes. Should I order another AE?
I'm on stlck w/ the most current software btw. Thanks.

Are you using an original stock charger? Are u charging through PC?
Battery could be defective..
I was thinking if he was rooted he needed to do battery calibration since he swtiched from stock to extended battery. Clear the stats and start over fresh. Maybe I am wrong, we'll see when we answers when or if he is rooted.

I am stock.
I switch between the HTC charger that came with it and several other after market cables/usb wall adapters.
I try to use plug in outlets as I know the "trickle" method takes forever.

I had alot of issues with charging my Incredible to the point where my phone took 5 hours to charge and 1 hour to drain. No simple answer here but if you root your phone many options exist to fix this battery issue. Recal the battery would be the first option. If you are able Root try that and come back and report.

[Q] how long is the battery supposed to last on the keyboard?

i did a search on google and got a bunch of people asking the same thing and some members on here went on a rant about something different, did i search on this forum and still no dice, so according to the intro video im a dumbass and should ask the android gods for help.
i bought a tf201 dock for my infinity, other threads say its the same shizz so i bought one and have been using it for over a week. at first i noticed that the battery would drain completely over night, i went into the settings and ticked the mobile dock saver on and off as others pointed out. im still having issues where i will watch maybe a movie off the sd card, browse online for an hour or two, and when i get home the dock is drained but the tablet is at half charge. i have used the tablet alone and it holds its charge all day, so is there any other tips or tricks i can use to find my culprit? also im used to iOS so my android-fu isnt so strong. if anything im considering exchanging it at bestbuy for a tf700 dock which ive heard is the same thang.
I just bought what was supposed to be the TF700 mobile dock from bestbuy but I think I got the TF201 one. Anyway, I've had it for 2 days now, first night it got totally drained but i suspected that it was because I forgot to turn off the wifi during sleep thing but now today, I connected it again and it has been drained from 100% to 15% in 3 hours!?
Worth to know though is that m tablet has been charted from ˜15% to 50% for this, but even so, charging m tablet for 35%, should that really suck that much battery power? That would mean that I used 50% of total battery in 3 hours, is that even possible?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using xda app-developers app
It should add 4 to 5 hours to your battery life I think.

yeah the docks are identical according to these guys
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810592&highlight=keyboard+battery+life
ive also been reading that theres an actual tf700 dock that does have the battery shifted but i have seen no proof. anyways i guess il just go exchange my dock at bestbuy.
oh and if someone can tell me which app i can use to have my tablet+keyboard stay charged while its closed that would be great, cause if i close the lid and wait for an hour the tablet goes down about 7% and the keyboard switches on to charge it, so its constantly using juice to do something but what? i dont know....
I suggest you read all the other various Battery-related threads as opposed to making yet another one. I have made enough suggestions regarding this in those.
For starts, these:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1805636
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078512
Also, the dock starts charging your tablet when the tablet gets below 70%. There is no way around this.
The TF700 has a smaller battery with less charge. Again, there is a thread about this. Several, actually.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920675
My tablet+TF201 dock has been on without charging from the electricity net for literally 3 weeks, and my tablet is at 85%, and my dock at 71%. It's not the tab itself, it's something you're doing or not doing.

Weird battery issue...

So I have the Zero lemon 7000mah battery now. I let my phone die so I can get a full charge. Last night, I let it charge for 8 hours. When the phone was off, it told me that the battery was at 100%,when I boot it up, it isn't even at 50%...so I turned it off and it said the same thing while it was charging. Please help
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I honestly do not know the correct answer for you. I do know with zero lemon, Hyperion, etc...those 7000 mah batteries should never be discharged to zero. If memory serves me, never below 3%.
You may want to try the 12 hour minimum charge cycles again like when it was new? Also, maybe you could use a better charger/cable? I had a zero lemon that started acting wonky at right about 6 months, and they were good about honoring the warranty. While I was waiting for the replacement, I ordered the Hyperion 7000 mah, and they have a 2 year warranty. I've only had it a couple of months, and so far very much like the zero lemon. It actually seems exactly the same (except for the warranty).
One last thing, and this may not be good advice, but I picked up a rocket fish charger, it charges at 1 mah instead of .5 like the standard charger....Just because it charges twice as fast. No one told me to do that, and I don't know if it's bad or good. I figured they wouldn't sell rapid chargers if they were bad.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I let it charge overnight until it was 100%, and it was when I got up. I checked it like a minute later and it was 44%... This is a bit ridiculous.
Have you completely powered off your phone? That might help. If it doesn't, zero lemon was very good about replacing my battery...Maybe get a replacement.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Well it charged 1% every 15 minutes at its current rate. That is obscene.
