I'm having trouble downgrading to 8.2.2.9 from 8.2.2.13. When I power down the unit and try to install the update it shows a progress bar for 2 seconds and then shows a warning symbol. It eventually starts up, but it is still 8.2.2.13. Is there anything I am missing here?
I tried placing the unzipped files on the root of my SD card, and then powered down my Transformer. Powered back on by holding down power and volume down.
Please help.
Did you put this file in the root of the sd card US_epad-user-8.2.3.9.zip?

Where is that located? I downloaded the file from Asus's site, and the unzipped it, and then just placed the contents in the root of the SD card. I'm not seeing that file.
It's inside the folder called update
When you unzip the file you downloaded from asus you'll see a folder called asus inside that folder there's another folder called update inside that folder there is the file you need to put in the root of your sd card

Ok. I think I downloaded the wrong file? I'm attempting it now.
Edit: Where is the file I'm supposed to download? I've tried 3 different files now.

Thanks. I was able to downgrade. Now I'm having problems with ADB. I followed the guide located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071584.
I'm not seeing the platform-tools folder. I see a platform folder, and a tools folder, but no platform-tools folder.

i think you just need the tools folder give it a try with a command prompt window
In new SDK there's no ADB in the zip file, you need to go to "tools" directory and run i think it is "android" command and it will allow you to download. It will go to "platform-tools" directory.
There is also a text file in tools directory explaining this

MD5? thanks in advance!
Thank you guys for your help so far. I'm finally working on doing the actual root.
Where do I place the blob zip file? Inside of the Platform tools? Or just inside of Android-SDK?
When I got to step 4, nothing happened.

You shoul extract files from zip and put CWM_BLOB_5, gingerbreakBB and superuser in platform-tools folder and then adb push gingerbreakBB (step 2) change file permission (step 3) run adb shell and execute gingerbreakBB (step 4) and let it do its magic to get temp root
After this you can push cwmblob to install CWM and insecure boot and you'll be ROOTED

That means you haven't pushed gingerbreakbb to the transformer
You have to make sure you have all them files in the platform tools folder and start from step 2 again after executing step 2 you should see transfer confirmation eg 300 kb <21500 bytes in 0.70s> and then proceed further if you can't see transfer confirmation check first if adb detects your device if not try reinstalling usb drivers or execute adb remount
Hope this helps

After running "adb push gingerbreakBB /data/local/" in step 2 the command prompt gives me back a bunch of information like : Android Debug Bridge version 1.0.26.
ADB is detecting my device. Maybe I am missing something else?

All you should get is transfer conf, the "Android debug..." info only appears when there is something wrong with adb command so it looks like you're doing something wrong there
Just a quick example how the command line should look like

That's exactly how my command prompt looks like. I'm reinstalling the Android SDK now. Hopefully that fixes things.
Not to totally hijack this thread, but does this downgrading work on 3.1? Because I downloaded the file and well I get cogs and the exclamation mark. Sucks for me cause I'd like to downgrade and then install the rooted 3.1 file.
Edit: I forgot the most important step; Removing the sd card and installing it again.
Be sure to place the update file in the external SDcard root and be sure to name it exactly
EP101_SDUPDATE.zip
or it won't work

Being so new at this - only a month with a rooted hero - I didn't think to change my folder permissions on the phone level - so I went into Root Explorer and changed it to R/W - and it gets further than I had before - but no file transfer takes place
This is what I'm typing into cmd
adb push c:\bootanimation.zip \system\media
then I get: 950kb/s - (0 byes in ###s)
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media
when I do that I get 'no such file or directory' which folder should I have the .zip in to make this easiest ? I just have it in c: right now

sorry noob question, but when you have an apk on the computer, what folder do you put it in so that you can push it to your phone via ADB?
...and where do the files go when you 'pull' them from your phone? ie what directory?
thank you!
.apk you can install like any other app so u don't need to push it. As far as pulling I'm not sure I use root explorer to move files instead of adb

You can just put them wherever you want and specify the full path in your adb command, both ways...
For example, I recently pulled a file from my phone to push to another:
Code:
adb pull /data/app/com.neevo.mobiledefense-1.apk /Users/dave/Dropbox/Android\ Apps
If you're using windows command prompt you could just drag the file into the terminal I believe and it will autopopulate the directory. Correct me if I'm wrong.

That should work on Windows, and on Macs as well. Probably would work in a Linux GUI environment as well.
easiest way is to install from Dropbox

easiest way is to use DROP BOX
Then drag any APK you want to install into the Drop Box
and in your phone just install the app or game from you Drop Box

The only original file you need is the Unlock_code.bin. They emailed this to you, that's the only way you can get the file. So if you did not delete the email, you can just go and download it again from your email. If you did delete it, it's most likely still in your email's trash bin.
BTW you do not need any original files to relock. Just boot back into fastboot usb mode and do as they said in the thread "fastboot oem lock"
I still have the file that htc emailed me. But in the instructions it list needing to move 2 other files to the android folder you create.
So basically just move the unlock.bin to that folder and follow the instructions as normal?

Are you talking about these 3 files adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll, fastboot.exe? Really he shouldnt have said to move them. You can leave them where they are at. On your PC navigate to C:\Android\platform-tools and they should all be there still. Look and see if they are. If they are not, then I can send them to you.
If they are still there, then you just navigate to that directory in CMD prompt and follow his instructions. Where he says to navigate to C:\Android you instead navigate directly to C:\Android\platform-tools in cmd. Does that make sense?

I never had a directory called C:\android\platform-tools. I could not get any fastboot commands to work without having those 3 other files in the same directory as the Unlock_code.bin I was trying to push. Which is why I told them to put them together, to avoid the same issue I was having.

if you update your SDK to the latest you will see. Everyone should update their sdk once every month or so. you put your unlock file in that folder too, it's same instructions they tell you, but instead of moving those files out, you keep them there and you move your unlock file in. so you don't break the SDK for future stuff.

I'm having the same problem as the OP. I made a nandroid backup using clockworkmod and I can't figure out how to get it off the Moto G and onto my computer. The above adb command just brings over two files: .recovery_version and .last_install_path.
The nandroid backup does not seem to be placed on the emulated sdcard. I can find it by using the Rom Toolbox root browser. It is in /data/media/clockworkmod/backup.
But that directory is not visible when I connect the phone via usb. I try:
E:\install\Moto G Tools\MotoG-Tools>adb pull /data/media/clockworkmod/backup
and get:
remote object '/data/media/clockworkmod/backup' does not exist
Any ideas on how I can get the backup onto my PC?
Hello guys, proper path should be as below:
adb pull /mnt/shell/emulated/clockworkmod/backup /designated/folder/for/backup/backup.date
JP
just use a file explorer like es and move your backup to somewhere that is visible from your comp and then just copy it over .

I tried that. With an 8GB Moto G I'm lucky to have enough space for one copy of the nandroid backup. When I tried to move the directory, it runs out of memory - I guess it is actually copying and deleting. I could try moving each file individually, but that is tedious and error prone and I could still run into the space problem.

First time when I have a problem like this, I see the backup on phone but when I conect the phone to PC I can't find it. So, I use Total Commander and move the backup file in phone in other folder, like "download". After that I seen it to PC. Now, I use TWRP 2.8.7 and I make the backup to an OTG connected USB stick. It's simple after that to move the backup where I want.

First, you may have motorola drivers installed on your PC. You can find them from here.
Another thing you need is Fastboot. Unzip fastboot on your desktop on a folder.
Charge your device above 60% battery level to avoid shutdowns during the process.
Enable USB Debugging on your phone from Settings> Developer options. If you do not find Developer option under device settings, enter to settings/about phone and touch "Build number" 7 times to enable them.
Conect your phone via USB to PC.
Open folder where you have fastboot, right click it and open a comand prompt from there
In the comand prompt enter:
adb devices
now you will see if all is ok and your device has been recognized. You should see something like:
List of devices attached
random numbers and letters device
If not, probably don't have the drivers installed properly OR you failed to authorize your computer for USB debugging.
Now you can enter adb commands in terminal and pull your backup from your phone. Commands will be something like:
adb pull /mnt/shell/emulated/clockworkmod/backup /designated folder for backup/backup.date

But seems doesn't work, have I did wrong
My phone detected but when I try adb pull, it shows this messages
You not give the right command to pull out. After "...clockworkmod/backup/" you must enter the backup name not the path where to download. It will download to adb folder. The name of backup file could be, how it suggest @pacmanman something like "backup.date" (where date is the date you make it). Sry, but you must find the name of that backup file or at least guess it.

Gorgone, if its not to much, can u give screenshot on how u do it?
I'm confused
Look at your picture. As you see in green what you do till here was good. Your device is recognize. Now, what I underlined with yellow was not OK. There you must put your Backup file NAME. The name is usual something like "backup.date" where date means the date you made the backup. It's nothing to do if you don't know that name, so at least try to guess it.
I use TWRP so my path will be a little different. TWRP is better for make and restore backups, you can even make a backup on an USB stick on OTG, so you don't ocupie the internal memory space, also you can easy move it where do you want.

Must give the path to your ROM zip. Your cmd prompt runs from c: \users\koppa but the ROM is not there.
You can't put the ROM in the adb folder. That only works if. You haven't added adb to your environment variable path and you have cd to that location
To get this to work either put the ROM in c: \users\koppa or cd to your adb folder or give the full path in the command

A neat little trick with Windows and cmd is to back out of the folder you are in. So, if the path was C:\Users\toster jp\adb, back out to the C:\Users\toster jp folder.
