Hello, I really like the default theme installed called "System" however I want it to have the color scheme of the "Cyanbread" theme. Is there a way to do this?
Please just. Just leave. And post on the right thread
Sent from my x10 on cm7 gingerbread
Moved to proper forum.
A few things would be helpful to know... What ROM are you on now? Stock 2.1, custom 2.2 or 2.3?
Links to the thread with the theme you want (if you found it in a thread).
If you are on 2.1 I doubt it, the framework is really different from a AOSP/Cyan ROM.
If you are on a 2.2 ROM it can probably be done, but somebody would have to port the theme.
If you are on a Cyanogen 7 ROM I believe you can just install it with the theme chooser.
You need to be a little more helpful/informative to us if you want us to be helpful/informative to you.
I am on CyanogenMod 7
How would I install it with the theme chooser? Can I combine themes?
Ah, well that's good.
I haven't used Cyanbread but looking at the screenshots, it looks like it uses the same icons as J's CM7 it just colors them... so in essence the Cyanbread theme is what you are looking for?
Or am I misunderstanding what you want?
Cyanbread thread with screenshots of theme.
J's CM7 with some screenshots of his ROM (icon sets look the same besides color to me).
I advise not flashing the files in the Cyanbread theme thread because it is intended for another phone.
(J links to THIS thread for themes for his ROM, I see a Cyanbread or 2 in the list, but they seem to have custom percent icons).
(You can try THIS Cyanbread theme, it wasn't linked by J, but I don't think it has the custom percentage icons if you didn't want those).
Just make a backup before installing a new theme, if it doesn't work or you don't like it just restore your backup.
Yes, they are very similar however Cyanbread has some slight differences like the title background/texture.
Do you know anything about metamorph? Maybe that could achieve what i want?

Yeah, I've used metamorph before, this would be able to fix this issue I believe (unless the Cyan theme chooser doesn't save the settings in the framework).
I'm more familiar with just creating update.zips...
let me download one of the .apks and see if I am able to edit them.
If so what exactly is it that you want edited? Which title background/texture?
Edit: Looks like I can edit the .apk... I just need to know what image it is you don't want.
Wow, that would be great. Thanks.
It is the background on "About Phone" here:

In the "System" theme it is just plain gray.
Drag the frameworks_res_bottom_bar.png, frameworks_res_title_bar.9.png, frameworks_res_title_bar_medium.9.png,frameworks_res_title_bar_tall.9.png from cyanbread to the theme you want and push it to /system/app
Let me see what I can do, I believe I found the image in question, Now I just need to change it.
I'll post when I Think I've got it.
Try the attached .apk for the theme chooser.
And please for the love of god do a backup first.
I used THIS version of Cyanbread, which shouldn't matter, but it's not posted in any X10 sections, so just in case it doesn't want to work with our phone etc etc...
All credit goes to the original poster, I just edited 3 .png files.
Thank you very much! I will try that out tommorow
ok, let me know if it works, I'm using Z's B4 so I can't test it myself.
If it doesn't work I can try to re-sign the .apk.
I hope the title bar was the only thing you wanted edited.
I tried installing the apk using File Manager but it won't install. I uninstalled the original Cyanbread because I thought there might have been a conflict but that made no difference.

Ok, let me try to re-sign it.
But are you supposed to install it from the theme chooser?
(I haven't used the theme chooser before, so I'm not sure what the process is).
If this doessn't work the only thing I can think of is manually installing (or forcing it with xRecovery/FreeXperia Recovery, which is how I normally install things, but I don't know where to push the .apk).
Will upload the signed .apk in a little bit.
Edit: Found where the .apk would need to be pushed if we need to try with recovery.
You have to replace old Cyanbread in /system/app and set right permissions . Do not sign it.

Yeah, system .apks don't need to be signed do they?
Well then I'll make a flashable .zip.

Yep they do no need to be signed. Just push it to /system/app.
You can copy it by root explorer and set the permissions to rw-r-r or push using adb.
Any chance you have root explorer?
Because the update-script doesn't want to work for me if I try to set permissions with it.
If you have root explorer then you can install it manually.

Hello All!
Here is my first theme for metamorph - Cyanified, updated to version 1.2. I have been wanting cyanification, but with all stock icons as the base... I didn't see any themes that fit the bill.
This will work on Stock Froyo (tested), and should work on any rom. It does not adjust services.jar, only images inside the framework-res.apk. You will need the lastest (xml) version of Metamorph, this will not work on the older .thm version of metamorph. It should also work if you are using a dark header bar, as I do not adjust the header images at all.
To go back to your original icons, you can flash your rom (without wiping).
To Do:
Finish up the .9png's. I've done a lot of them, but there's a lot more to do to get this themed fully.
Make some changes to Launcher2.apk for those using the stock launcher or who have moved their favorite launcher to /system/app/Launcher2.apk
Custom keyboard for HTC IME
Dialer adjustments (possibly)

Here's some shots of it with the LeoFroyo 0.4.1 rom, which has a black header as default:
I'm not providing any header options (neither black no transparent), you'll have to find a theme or mod, then apply this morph. As always, be sure to do a nandroid before making any major changes.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Simply download the file below, extract it on your computer, move the extracted "cyanified" folder to "Android Themes" folder on your sdcard, and choose the .xml file in metamorph to apply it. It will cause a reboot since it is adjusting framework-res.
CHANGELOG:
v1.2 - Minor change to cyanified.xml, simply fixes an error upon applying (theme still works in v 1.1)
v1.1 - Completed .9.png files in the framework-res folder
Any suggestions or critiques welcomed!
Yes why not I'm interested ....
Thanks .
This looks awesome, do want.
I too would love a theme like this one.
Cyanogen has my heart. <3
...okay, that was a bit much.
Ok, I've uploaded version 1~
Enjoy!!
I've just uploaded version 1.1, now fully themed within framework-res. Enjoy! Will post more photos soon!
Is it possible for you to make a file for metamorph that just changes the lock screen? I like the whole theme, but i want to just use the cyan colored lock screen for now.

Just unzip the file, open up framework-res/res/drawable-hdpi/ and delete all the files you don't want to change.
So you'll be left with only these (I think this is all of them)

I guess you'd have to apply a theme or rom with the black status bar, and then apply this morph. You'd want the clock font to be white, and if you are on stock froyo that won't be possible.
I just switched to the LeoFroyo rom which has a black statusbar option, I'm going to test this morph on it and post some pictures.

i deleted all the other png's other than this one, and re-zipped. I am getting control errors so I uninstalled metamorph and reinstalled the newest from the market. Then I renamed the xml file to the same name as the zip file (saw in another thread to do this) and I am still getting control file error. Also reduced delay to ~2500, no go. Any ideas?
thx

Don't rezip. Just delete the files you don't want, then upload the folder to Android themes. Don't change the name of the xml file.
Big Thanks to TouchPro and BlazedOne for attempting this!!
Has anyone tried getting the droid 2 lockscreen images onto the incredible (with vanilla lock obviously)? is it just as easy as swapping files in the droid 2 framework? and if it is does anyone have the framework-res.apk from the droid 2?
so looking in teh Droid 2 Framework-res.apk i see 2 sets of lockscreen icons first set is stock vanilla (same as droid x) second is the ones we see in image below, They have a diff naming scheme for the Droid 2 ones, so i assume it will take some xml or jar editing to make this work. (a little over my head).
edit 2: upon further investigaion i now see theres a bunch of new xml files in the droid 2 framework-res.apk that inclue things like zz_moto_keyguard_screen_tab_unlock.xml
i have attached the Droid 2 STOCK framework-res file.... that i pulled from the dump from LegionTHEFecalExcretion D2 sys dump located HERE for those who want to have a look
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps!
Update.... created a video of the droid 2 lockscreen so you can see how it works

Your using framework that has been modded, so you need to make a copy of the pngs you want from the droid2 framework. Then rename the pngs to the pngs that your framework is using for the lockscreen. For the droid2 lockscreen to look real complete you should make new pngs that replace the answer call/end call pngs, etc...
thanks.
I appreciate your willing to help me, Touchpro247. Shows a lot about your character. I started doing the morph and once I started I HAD to finish, You probably know something about that, haha.

It seems that a lot of people like my battery icons, every time I post a screen shot somewhere someone always asks "what battery is that?"
So...
These are MetaMorph themes and they work with the latest Sense builds. Your ROM must already have the battery percent on your ROM already for these to work.
NOTE: These have been tested on the following ROMs:
Skyraider 3.0 and above
Wes342's Super-Z
Nils Business_Sense_Desire-Z
I will do some more research and find out what other ROMs are compatable.
The ROMs above use a folder in the framework named "drawable-hdpi" some of the other ROMs use a folder named"drawable-hdpi-v4"
I am currently working on these for the Virtuous 3.1.0 Rom.
I can't express enough how important it is to do a nand backup first, you are modifying system files! Be forewarned, I can not be held responsible for anything that goes wrong.
I have had hit and miss luck with MetaMorph, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I have had a couple of occasions where it has locked up my phone and I have had to restore from a backup.
Alternative method:
If you are familiar with modifying framework files you can also modify your framework-res.apk file and use adb to push it back to your phone.

There are 137 batteries counting the charge images so it takes a lot of time.

Hopefully you done a backup first.
I done some research and Virtuous Rom has a different framework than Skyraider 3.5 and SuperZ ROMs.
It looks like I should have done some more research before posting these.
Restore from your backup and then try this file for the WIFI, it should work for you.

Let me know if it works and I will make the battery files compatable with your ROM as well.
I will edit the original post.
Well I got it to work using ninjamorph by manually inserting the wifi pngs into the framework.apk. What I noticed about the battery pack is that your script isn.t inserting the png's into the right folder. The icons look great though good work.

I use androidian, and if I run it as a data app it doesn't apply the .png for the dropdown header, and if it's in system app, it does anyway, hope that helps...

Ugh, then I have to uninstall a bunch of other stuff that it comes with. I run a very minimal ship here, anything I don't use within the first week or so of flashing a ROM, I delete.
Add Ons?
How do i put addons on?
you unzip and place on sd
then do what?
considering its some wallpapers and some dock backgrounds and a widgetlocker theme, if you use it, you do what you would normally do with those items...
im asking because i dnt know flash em?

Awesome work...Though now I get to say...I CANT KEEP UP lol. I blink and just a new and awesome theme.
Looks pretty nice, going to try it out later.
On that note, am I the only one with NO idea how to use that Theme Patch at all? I cannot get it to work at all, and since the author's first language isn't English, that thread doesn't really help me at all on how to use it, ha. Any help?
@ jasonevil: excellent theme mate ! ^^
Thanks button obviously clicked
Could you post your transparency patch.zip and undo.zip? I haven't been to find / build one for CM7 RC1 for Heroc.

How exactly do you make the semi-transparent patch? I still cannot figure it out, and I'm a bit ashamed, since I work in IT (and not as a lowly helpdesk minion, ha)...

Liking this very much!! Is it possible to maybe add the numerical battery level in an update? Thanks for the good work.
Awesome theme! Please update once you have finished the stock keyboard, only niggle I have with this theme. Otherwise, daily driver for sure. The dialer is my fav out of any theme.

I'll try tonight too if i remember. I think though that i saw something to indicate it wouldn't work with odex roms. I definitely could be imagining that though.
