[Q] mt4g android.process.media has stopped error - General Questions and Answers

installed new rom from rom manager and now i get a continual android.process.media. i had cyanogen mod 7.0.0 stable. installed the old rom to no avail. i have tried various roms and nothing. where is the error?

Firstly don't use rom manager, you are much better off booting in recovery and flashing manually. Rom manager has been known in some cases to cause issues
Secondly make sure you wipe system/data/cache when moving from one rom to another.
Thirdly if doing neither of the above helps, re download the rom. You may have got a bad download.

ROM MANAGER "an error occured while flashing your recovery"

Hey guys, I want to install a new rom onto my acer liquid e because 2.2 froyo is kind of boring.. but whenever I try to flash my recovery with rom manager premium I get " an error occured while flashing your recovery" this has been going on for days and I just updated rom manager to 3.0.10 hoping it would fix this but it hasn't... I have rom manager premium and I tried reinstalling, fixing permissions, still nothing... any help would be much appreciated.... THANKS!
P.S. Any word on cm7 for the liquid?
Sent from my Acer Liquid using XDA App
Hes this been resolved?
I am having the same issue.
Thanks
I had the same problem too starting yesterday.
After checking device.js downloaded by Rom Manager in sdcard\clockworkmod\download\rommanager.appspot.com\manifests
it seems that the download url mirror1.kanged.net/recoveries is not valid, and it return "Gerrit is moving! Looks like your DNS has not updated yet. Have no fear, it shall in time."
Maybe they're switching hosting server, not sure, and doesn't seems to hear anything about this yet.
I am having this error as well starting yesterday.
I rooted my phone, had no problems. Flashed Iced Glacier using CWM Recovery. I then used ROM Manager to flash stock recovery so I can charge my phone with the power off.
Last night I reflashed CWM recovery and installed CM7 RC2 on my Mytouch 4g. All is well, however I have been trying to flash stock recovery again so I will be able to charge my phone with the power off, but whenever I try I keep getting the error.
I tried uninstalling ROM Manager and reinstalling, deleting the recovery images on my sd card, reflashing the zip file with 3.0.0.6 and stock in it. Nothing has worked so far and I have yet to find an answer. Any suggestions?

[Q] ROM and recovery issue after successful rooting

Hi everyone.. first post here.
I just successfully rooted my Nexus S (GT-I9020T, 2.3.4, GRJ22) using adb, recovery clockwork herring and su 2.3.6.1.
ROM Manager is working fine but I do have a couple of issues.
The recovery doesn't always stick and reverts back to the stock one from time to time (I have to flash again then from inside ROM Manager). Which could be a problem due to the next issue..
I've been trying to install some ROMs (Cynogen for instance) but in one version I get a looping boot screen and in an other it keeps going to the recovery screen. Luckily, it's the right one and I can restore a backup. I'm afraid it might revert to the stock recovery at some point and screw me.
Any thoughts on this?
I should have read some more threads first..
I fixed the recovery issue by renaming install-recover.sh using Root Explorer
So I guess I should just experiment to find good ROMs now.
Can anyone suggest a good ROM? I'm looking for improved battery use, slimmed down system, needs email apps (all google apps probably)
Sorted it all out (mount/unmount, delete caches, etc.)
It's working swimmingly now.
Running Cynogenmod 7 and loving it.
I am using Infinity 1.0.0, stable, fast and great battery life, it is a 2.3.4 rom

[Q] Trouble Rooting and Flashing Cyanogenmod y

Ok guys I have been at this for over 5 hours now and I'm turning to you for help. I have had the phone since its release and have done research on rooting. I used ace hack v11a to root and s-off about 5 hours ago. After this, I had the well known issue with wifi (connecting to network, but no internet access). I searched and found the thread detailing the fix, which was to use rom manager to flash cyanogenmod 7. I used rom manager to create a backup and then set it to task installing the rom. Rom manager sent me to the load screen and acted like it was installing. The phone booted up, but it was still the downgraded rom. I have tried several things, including booting the phone into recovery and flashing the rom manually. I have received the status 7 error message, and also noticed rom manager saying something about sd-ext not being found. I have searched the forum and found the fixes i mentioned that worked for others, but I am having a problem. I am currently using ace to restore the phone to its original state and will wait for some help before I try this again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Alright, SD-EXT won't be found unless you have created an EXT partition on your SD card, I get that error with every wipe. Are you using the newest ROM manager? Are you using the newest CWM? Have you tried just flashing a radio/ RIL?
I'm just spittballing here, based on common solutions.
Also don't flash through ROM manager, as there is a bug, and will not do a full wipe. When ever you flash a rom/theme/mod do it through Clock Work Mod.
Ok. I will not try to flash through rom manager. A couple of questions:
1) I ran the return to stock option on ace v11a. When I do this again should I use v11b?
2) Is partitioning absolutely necessary?
3)Is there a particular radio you recommend?
Thanks for your reply!

[Q] Help... Galaxy s3 i9300 cm9 suddenly huge 6gb Nandroid!!

Yesterday i updated to the at the time latest CM9 nightly, and im not sure if that is the cause but before then my backups were aroud the 1gb mark, then, when i tried to do another backup after updating it kept failing. when i restarted my phone the entire memory was full of the aborted backup.
I deleted stuff until the free space outweighed the used space so i could definitely fit whatever size the backup was and it worked but the result was 6gb!!
Is this a problem anyone else has had with or without cm9? as i said im not 100! sure that was the cause but it does seem likely.
If theres a better place to ask this question please let me know.
... Ive tried re flashing clockwork mod recovery and re installing rom manager. I also flashed the touch version with rom manager. None of that has made any difference so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated as im no expert.
Updating/Installing/Uninstalling ROM manager doesn't affect ClockworkMod recovery at ALL. ROM manager's sole purpose is to install Clockworkmod and help beginners with flashing ROMs. And if you have the money HELP you find ROMs as far as I can see.
As for your problem, it looks very weird, Reflashing a ROM would probably solve it, but you would love to make a backup first.
Try using Titanium backup to backup your apps and some information. Sync your contacts and calendar most importantly and make sure you backup everything. Then try flashing a different ROM. Remember the ROM is nightly for a reason; this could be the reason.
Cheers
well i think i've found what it was... its a known problem with recovery version 5.8.4.5... its backing up everything resulting in huge backups... the weird thing is its the same version ive been using for a few weeks and ive never had that problem before. Now i just have to work out how to replace this version with the older version.

[Resolved] [Q] Impossible to instal Android Revolution

Hello.
First of all, I tried searching for a similar problem but I haven't found anything quite like this.
I have a SG S3 with a stock 4.3 Rom (but I was on cyanogenmod 11 before that).
And I wanted to try Android Revolution (ARHD), so I added CWM and downloaded ARHD 51.0 from here. I then proceed to install it via the SD card in recovery mode (after wipe) like it's recommended. The installation goes on, the phone restarts. And I'm back to my stock rom (rooted mind you), like I did not even try installing ARHD.
My current version is I9300XXUGNA8, I guess I should be on I9300XXUGNB6 after install, but there's absolutely no change whatsoever. I tried this 3-4 times with always the same results.
Has anyone ever had this problem? Do you know why I can't seem to install this ROM?
Many thanks in advance for any help on this!
