MP3 player app which plays fils form network share

Hey,
I searching for an MP3 player app for my SGT. The MP3 files are stored on a network drive to my NAS (Access via FTP or Windows Sharing). I want an MP3 player app which can play the files directly from the NAS.
Thanks for your help
Stefan
I use ES File Explorer for it.

[Q] Asus Cannot Detect Samba Share Drives

I would like to watch movies stored on my shared hard drive of computer desktop from the Asus transformer MyNet. I can see my share drive on the left hand side of the panel; but when I go to that drive, I could not see the SMB drive where I stored the movies in. Could someone help?
Cant say about My Net, but I can browse Samba shares just fine using Ghost Commander if that's useful info for you..
MyNet is a DLNA client, not a Samba or CIFS client. You need a DLNA server on your desktop in order to stream your media.
I use ES File Explorer and it works for copying to local disk. For direct viewing, UPnplay, Moboplayer and Mediatomb works very well.

Ditto. I use PS3 Media Server. Works very well.
I use serviio on Linux.
you can use Buzz player to browse and play avi files on SMB drives. however, mkv files will not play at decent quality. Buzz player on iOS does better on Android
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
I installed Ghost Commander and the SMB plug in; but still don't know how to connect with shared samba drives.
Same here, please anybody knows how to connects, let me know!
Try ES File Explorer... it supports SMB streaming and it doesn't copy the files anymore.
Works great with MoboPlayer
Hm.. that should be smart, I actually have Mobo player on my TF.
I only like the double view of Ghost commander, and ES is too much eyecandy for me.
Still, if anybody knows it, please help!

Sorry for the noob..
But are three different software, because i don't find in market?
EDIT: Sorry, maybe you made a typo, should be ES FileExplorer?
so i can connect via upnp and associate moboplayer when playing a video
I understand right?
Oops my bad. Yes typo.
Yes once u can see your files via upnp or smb or ftp etc... you can select it and it will ask which player to use.moboplayer with codec pack play all my files so far
try Plex, UpnPlay or just FileManagerHD with Rockplayer
Plex
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.plexapp.android&feature=search_result - also download the PC server program
UpnPlay
https://market.android.com/details?id=cx.hoohol.silanoid&feature=search_result
FileManagerHD
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rhmsoft.fm.hd&feature=search_result - set up a new network location.
Rockplayer
https://market.android.com/details?...er.android.unified.lite&feature=search_result - use this to play the movies you see with FileManagerHD
Make sure you have shared your folders in Windows and added them to your Windows Media Player library, this will make them visible to the ASUS.
If you are rooted and running one of the CIFS enabled kernels you can mount your share using CIFS manager. Doing this, I can play the files directly from my file explorer using any application that supports the filetype I wish.
You don't need to be rooted to play movies though the file manager though, using File Manager HD and Rockplayer I can do this using my smb/upnp shares.
Thanks to all
I've tryed Plex, but 720p videos run choppy, the others are fine, but are also fine with ES Filexplorer & Moboplayer, like suggested in the first reply.
I will try all your suggested software to find the right combination for my needs.

[Q] DLNA and subtitles. Possible?

noob question.
I've been testing several dlna clients on my TF101 and I can't seem to find a way to play .srt subtitles.
I can play most of the A/V the files from my dlna server using various programs on my TF but none seems able to understand the corresponding subtitle files.
Some programs have the option to start the movie and then load a local .srt file, but that is way inconvenient.
Ideas?
Alternately, is there any other way to play back movies stored on NAS without the use of DLNA? (much like my popcorn does using a network browser)

[Q] Play movies directly from NAS on Android with subtitles, without root(smb or DLNA)

Hi, is any way how I could to watch movies directly from NAS (Synology) without rooting the phone?
I have shared the files as samba sharing and also as DLNA.
Samba clients which I found can only browse and download files to phone, DLNA clients are better, they can play directly but thet did not show subtitles.
Any advice, pelase?
Thanks
