Hi. Sorry if this is a nooby question but how do you password protect the transformer? I looked in the settings but couldn't find a way to do it. Did I miss something? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Settings- Security- Configure lock screen
Also, if you want to go a step further:
Settings->Security->Encrypt tablet
thanks a lot!

Hi All,
I am trying to find an alternative to the ugly password screen that comes up every hour when the phone is idle. I am using Exchange email and the policy forces me to use password every one hour. I have to enter my password soooooo many times a day. I installed Slide2Unlock and I was hoping that would automatically enter the password for me but it doesn't. Any other ideas???
Thanks in advance.
Follow the instructions on this webpage: http://khason.net/blog/how-to-disable-exchange-security-policy-for-windows-mobile-devices/
If you're not comfortable editing your phone's registry, he does provide a program that will do it for you at the bottom of the article.
Awesome, thank you
Hi there, I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I was messing with some UI tweaks in SKTools. After I was done, everything was fine; but I wanted to see how everything looked with the large start menu option in system settings. After enabling it, I clicked to look at it. The entire menu was blacked out and I now have no way (that I know of) to get back to the settings to change the menu size. When you press on it, the phone will freeze.
So really what I'm asking is, anybody know a way to change that setting through the registry or something? .o.
Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys, really.
Welcome to forums
First and more important to know is what HTC device you have
Second, try to uninstall any new app recently added or in worst case do a hard reset.
Good luck,
How to get back in?
Restore Nandroid backup?
I think if you call your phone and end it, it will bring you to your home screen so then you can access your settings and change the password. I've never tried it myself but I have read it somewhere. Sorry if this doesn't help a lot!
Actually it wound up asking for the Google password after too many wrong attempts. So it was kind of self-fixing.
Thanks though!
Hey there, new to the forums here. I was wondering if any of you guys new a way to have it so that when I wake the device (note 3 running cyanogenmod 11) , it would be ready to put my pattern In rather then having to hit the lock icon right above the home button every time I unlock my phone. I know its possible, because that's how it was before, but I messed with the keyguard. Apk file it might not be like that anymore (even though I did make a backup and restored it so really it didn't make a difference) is there some kinda check box I need to rick somewhere? Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. That kind of defeats the purpose of having a pin or pattern unlock. But if you're on Android 5.x you can use smart lock, settings, security.

:crying:so no I didn't steal this phone, I paid for it (cuz I'm dumb).
I've been using the phone anyway thanks to a walkthrough. I found out how to still use the phone despite the lock. But I'd like to remove it completely. I don't own a computer or OTG cable so I need to find a way to do it from the phone itself. I thought possibly if I can find out what what specific apps control the fr then maybe I could deactivate those apps and reset the phone if anybody has any ideas please comment.
I'm able to activate deactivate apps change permissions all that kind of stuff through settings what not but I don't know which app specifically control or disable the screen locks that comes with it if I could just disable the screen lock and regain the home screen and access to play etc I'd be just as happy.
Thanks for your time and thoughts and sorry if this is the wrong are for this post.
P.s.
Phone and soft ware
I'm using a Moto 4e and have Android 7.1
