[Q] Volume of Keyboard "clicks"... - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
When I am typing on my devices, I like to hear the "clicking" sound from the keyboard and I have it turned on on all of my devices but with my Xoom even though I have the setting turned on and the volume turned up, I can hardly hear the clicks from the keyboard.
Anyone else out here notice this or have this issue?
Please advise,
Thanks in advance...

Yea. Not a big deal though, to me anyway.

I use Thumb Keyboard. Allows you to choose from several sounds. If you use any of them with the volume inadvertently turned up all the way, you'll be backing down the volume in a hurry because it is ridiculously loud.

[Q] On Screen Keyboard Volume (typing sound too loud)?

A coworker recently purchased a Transformer and I noticed that his on screen keyboard is VERY loud when he types. It's so loud, that it is actually annoying. By comparison, mine is very quiet/subtle. We have compared the volume in apps/videos and they are the same.
Is there a way to adjust the volume of the clicking sound of the on screen keyboard? Is anyone else having this issue?
Thanks
As far as I can tell the Asus Software Keyboard only allows you to disable to sound entirely. You can do that by going to
Settings> Language and Input> Configure Inputs Methods> Asus Keyboard> Settings

I KNOW its pissing me off. it's either on and blasting at 100% or off. Hope they post a fix or also you to set the volume lvl.
The volume rocker broke on it? Mine can lower the volume just fine.
Grab Audiomanager from the market. It enables you to set the volume of many things that aren't exposed in the stock settings.

What keyboards are you using? I've noticed that Thumb Keyboard has ignores the volume setting of the device sometimes. I haven't had the problem with any others that I sometimes use though.

Music Changing Problem Solved!

I listen to music on my phone all the time and I really like how the stock music player responds to the headphone control. I'm using my old HTC headphones which have three buttons, and the default settings (actually there's no settings in the stock player for headphone control) is that the two buttons on the sides serve as volume button and the middle button serve as play/pause/next button. I love this because I don't need to reach in my pocket to change the volume or song and it kinda saves the hardware keys.
But I noticed a problem later: All three buttons work when the screen is on or just turned off (either manually or automatically), but the center button (play/pause/next) stops working after a while. The volume buttons are fine. I also noticed that if I double clicked to change the song, the music would just stop, but if I just turned on the screen, it started playing again (next song). So this is what I thought: the buttons sent the signal, the music player got it, but it couldn't do anything because the phone was "sleeping" after being turned off for a while.
Today I found this little app called "Headset Button Controller", which is basically a settings app for headphone control. It solved the problem perfectly! It probably works its way around the phone's power management. Idk. Here is the link to market: [damn I can't post it, you need to search it on your own] I'm on stock 2.3.5 and have used the stock Samsung headphones to re-show the problem and found out it's not my HTC headphones' fault. I believe there're more people in the same situation and thank god I finally find a way to solve it! Happy sharing!
Thanks would give this a try. Double click never work for me

[Q] disable volume rocker

Hi,
Why hasn't anyone developed a way to disable, lock, or reconfigure the volume rocker?
Is this possible to do? I would really appreciate if someone found a way to do this!
Best,
One thing I would want is to, when there isn't any media playing, if you press and hold, it change the brightness. And if media is playing, press and hold while using the phone (I.e. screen on) it act the same way it does when it's off.

Agreed there are sometimes i wish that it wouldn't work beccause it gets in the way...
Anywho i can't stop thinking about that iOS camera app that used the volume up button as a shutter so Apple pulled it by saying "users may be confused" and then a few months later guess what is one of the major features they are promoting in iOS5
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Volume rocker disable on screen off

When I use it to listen to music I throw it in my back pocket. Whenever I move... at all... the volume rocker decides I want music as loud as possible or no volume at all. Is there any way to turn off volume rockers on screen off... or all together? I'm fine with using softkeys to change volume. I have tried widgetlocker and that only works as long as the screen is on.

Built into the software, custom ROM can change this of course.
So we just have to wait for source or ICS... ha lets just hope Sammy doesn't forget about us so soon.

there is a build prop line you can configure so the screen wont trun on when pressing volume keys, perhaps there are more entries which might allow you to disable altogether. I would bet against it though.
Best bet in the meantime would be to search for an app, perhaps something like tasker.
