can't connect wifi on wpa/wpa2 - T-Mobile LG G2x

so I just went back to stock froyo and rooted from Eagleblood. On the custom rom I was able to connect to my network just fine but now on stock it will not connect. Does anyone know of a fix?
I tried the wifi analyzer and also set DNS method to no avail. Thanks

Wifi Tether Installed but not showing up on Network

Well the root seemed to go through without any problems using the OneClickrootexploit v2.2.4
and i installed the wireless_thether_2_0_5-pre8.apk
and everything seems as if its working but the Android Tether SSID doesnt show up on my wireless network.... anyone else having this problem?
its working for me....hmmmmm
whats also weird is my htc evo tether (that i know is working ) doesnt show up on my Samsung Epic Wifi when i have it activated , im assuming its because my network is disconnected from that phone now..... i dont really have anything else to test it out with other than my ipad that is at work... so ill know for sure tomorrow

From what I have heard, the Epic only puts out a Wireless N signal. So if you are trying to connect with any device that is only a/b/g, then it will not work.

You were right .... when I used my friens iphone it showed up right away
Thanks
I had the same problem. Updated to the latest drivers on my wireless network card on my laptop and then I was able to see it. My laptop is not wireless N just b/g/
the wireless n thing doesn't make sense because I tried using the sprint hotspot and it showed up on my computer as a network to connect to, using Wifi Tether for rooted users never shows up.
Make sure your computer is set to look for Ad-hoc networks, instead of only infrastructure.
How do I set it up to look for ad hoc networks?

YEAH BABY!! I returned my phone to stock, rerooted, and installed the newest version of Wireless Tether for rooted users(version 2.0.5 pre9) and it now works. Getting 2.52mb download on 3g.
Im sure all I needed to do is update to the latest version of Wireless Tether, but I wanted to start fresh anyway.
When I installed wireless tether and tried, it would not broadcast an ssid.
From the app, pressed menu, settings, then menu again and selected re-install binaries and configs.
This fixed my tether, nice and simple. Hope this saves someone a reflash.
Works
2.0.5 pre 9 - googled it, downloaded it, uninstalled the officall 2.0.2, installed the new one and BAM! getting 1.5mbp down
Having a problem here. I am using Wifi Tether 2.0.5 Pre-11 and it works great on all devices except the Zune HD. When I use Sprint Hotspot my network shows up fine on the Zune HD but using Wifi Tether I don't get any network from my phone, but Itouch and Iphone does. What can I do to fix this? Thanks. I think it has something to do with adhoc or wirelesss N, I am not sure.
Ok now I have definitely figured it out. The app will only do Ad-Hoc and not infrastructure, any Wifi Tether apps that do infrastructure?
Use the i900 mobleAP app. That broadcasts in infrastructure mode.

I am going to give that a shot once I get out of work. I tried downloading Clockwork ROM Manager and then installed the Recovery but couldn't get it to work. Kept booting to android recovery.

Ok I am going to give it a shot now. Currently restoring to stock ROM since I was tying out that Heroic Epic ROM.
SUCCESS it works. But now my Galaxy S bootscreen looks broken. It has a flickering square that says ANDROID while booting up. Happened after restoring with Clockwork Recovery.

Wifi not working on htc thunderbolt

For some reason, whenever I turn on my wifi, it says unable to scan wifi, then the wifi turns off. That was on stock, and I read about a fix for rooted users, where you delete the wifi configuration file, as it could become corrupted, so I rooted and did what it said, but still no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

how to connect to 4G after root?

Hi,
I followed this thread and rooted my Xoom successfully
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242241
Before I rooted I was on the 4G network, now I can't get on the 4g network. I cannot even get on the 3g network. I have Data enabled under mobile network settings and I activated my device.
Any ideas on how to connect again? Wifi works.
Is it possible I wiped the 4g upgrade off the xoom by rooting? thanks
Pull your sim with power on. It will give a msg, then put it back in and reboot. Make sure wifi is off too.

Hi thanks for the reply
I did this and didn't get any message. I pulled it and now rebooted it. Still no luck
edit: to make it more clear it says no internet connection but the signal fluctuates and it says i have 3.2.1 is that the problem? I think 4g+ is 3.2.2 but even my 3g isnt working
I fixed the problem
I tried using the 3G method to root it after it was unrooted because of the 4g method. That didn't work so I flashed the oem boot.img file. That was the 3.2.1 file when I was supposed to use the 3.2.2 one that Motorola just released about a week ago
I went back and used the oem boot.img file this time 3.2.2 and it worked.

I can`t enable internet in MIUI

After installing MIUI I can`t enable data transfer (2g/3g internet). Data transfer is turning on, but there is no 2g/3g logo and internet. This happens after installing all MIUI stock and custom roms. APN settings is correct, before it was ok. I`m installing via Clockwork recovery v5. Device is G2x (P999)
What should I do? How to enable it?
I believe for the g2x you should see an H next to the bars, that is if you are in a good service area.
Otherwise I think it also shows G, and E.
If it doesn't have anything at all, then I'm not sure.
Does the internet work when you go inti the browser?

I`ve tried SINGH UI too, as I remember wi-fi is on by defalut, isn`t it? So, I turned it off, and use my phone few days. Rebooted it few times, but data not worked ((
I had this problem before, go to ur APNs and go to authentication and make the authentication "None" instead of "Not set". That will enable ur data

Hey go to SETTINGS->MOBILE NETWORKS->ACCESS POINT NAMES-> in here select option button in your android phone, in the menu select NEW APN, you will get the APN settings as seen in this. In the link ACCESS NUMBER = SERVER in mobile.
As I am not allowed to post link for first ten TIMES! will guide you through
google search -> "vodafone apn address" the third result will be GPRS APN Settings with Username and Password - Modem Unlock. Click it and follow the method above mentioned.

[Q] Phone is not connecting to wifi, what do i do ?

I'm using a nexus 5, running stock rom and Franco kernel. I've noticed that my phone just doesn't seem to find wifi networks. It automatically connects to few known networks, but when I try to connect to new networks, my phone refuses to find the network. I know the network is discoverable since my laptop and other devices connect to it. Is there anything I could do to prevent it from happening?? I tried wiping cache but nothing happened.

Try flashing the stock kernel (boot.img) in fastboot and see if it works then or reboot the modem/router first. If it does its probably a kernel issue. Have you looked in the Franco kernel thread if other users have the wifi issue too.
I tried using the stock kernel, the situation remained the same. Shall I re flash stock (factory reset) and try again??
