I've been using Cyanogen but just flashed to the most recent NSCollab today. Its great so far. However, I went to use the front facing camera (in Camera) and it won't let me select it. I can click the icon to switch from the back camera and the popup with "Front" and "Back" shows up but disappears and doesn't highlight "Front" when i click it.
Does anyone else using NSCollab have or had this issue? I love the ROM so far and don't really want to flash back to CM Nightlies :/
Edit: Nevermind! it seems like the camera theme made it so the icons (ie: flash, camera switcher, exposure, etc) overlapped the popup menus... i "fixed" this by using landscape view and selecting the bottom setting...

I'm using Gallery 3D on the EVO, and when I click the SHARE button to send a picture, it shows every option except MESSAGES. Does anyone else have this problem that they don't have the option to share a photo with Gallery 3D through MMS? I installed the same app on another friend's EVO and it showed. Is there some sort of setting that I'm not aware of? I'm using version 1.1.30682
same problem except dat it shows up on the pics i take wit the front facing cam. might be cuz of the size
I have the same problem except it shows so many options that they extend past the top of the screen. Maybe it's there and I just can't see it.
Also it force closes when clicking the camera icon in the top right corner.
Glad to know I'm not the only one
happened to me too....
worked perfect on CM6 tho
I guess theres no fix for it. I honestly stop using it. I downloaded Handcent to see if that showed up and it did. But I rather stick with stock messaging.
I'm using the Motorola Triumph on Virgin Mobile, but for some reason whenever I open my Camera application (or any app that uses my camera I.E Yelp/Google Goggles) the camera is blue and green, much like a thermal sensor, and the front view camera's color spectrum is normal. I'm running a beta version of CM7 and its worked properly for as long as I've had it, and now I can't find a way to reset it back to normal. I've tried resetting the camera to default settings, looking at the other apps and seeing if I've accidentally changed any settings that could potentially cause this situation. On a side note, all the color effects on my front-facing camera have never worked, just wondering if that's due to the beta version of CM7, or something else I can fix. Either way, it'd be great to have an answer!
Try backing up your apps, texts, and data (if you want) then doing a full wipe with CMW and reinstall CM7... Also if you aren't using the newest version (B.08 or Cm-tg-reloaded) Then you may want to try those out and see if they work any better.
it randomly fixed after a reboot and then I just upgraded and everything works besides the color effects on the front facing camera

Is there a sense rom or camera mod with an on/off option for the autofocus feature or the camera?
I tried the zerocamera mod. but i hnestgly cant tell if it worked or not. I used to have a camera with four options on the left side.
The stock one apparently has from top to bottom. flash on/off/auto, settings gear and the "A" for the scenes.
I remember using one that had an extra button on the left side, and also had an on/off option for the autofocus. which was seemed much better.

Hi! I had these camera issues on my Nexus S i9020xxkl1 for a quite a long time now. Hopefully someone knows how to fix this.
#1: My front camera is showing on landscape mode, even though I'm holding it right (portrait). the buttons are showing on portrait too. its just that the camera preview is on landscape!
#2: On my rear camera, when I press the record button to take a video, the camera app crashes and shows "unfortunately, gallery has stopped".
I almost tried everything from wiping, return to stock etc. Now I'm on stock 4.0.4. thank you!

I believe that you have a software problem..and the easiest way for you is to reinstall a new software (ROM). You can find it in this site in the right topic. You follow the indications and maybe you fix your problem.
Make a backup of your data/apps/images/contacts/etc & enjoy your new phone

Try a kitkat rom. It's at least 3x faster than ICS and has a good chance to fix your problem.

flashing to stock firmware again maybe your camera work again
So I just decided to unblock bootloader, recovery and all that stuff to get on the custom rom.
Have been tried 2 rom: Evolution X and Pixel Exp
The rom seems to be working perfectly fine and the camera app as well but when I switch to the front camera, it just crashes all the time for any camera applications, I can use the camera and toggle the front camera then slide the phone down a bit and actually seeing the camera works through the small light gap appear on the screen but as soon as the slider full slides down, the app just stops right away without any warning.
How do I troubleshoot this ? Does anyone here encounter the same thing ?
I facetime my mother a lot so this really sucks for these recent couple of days already. Should I switch back to og software ?
If your on EvoX and use this camera: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog590/
When you slide down your front camera should work immediately.

Just swap back the rom and tried the app. Well it still doesn't work. Its go black screen for a sec and close the application.
None of the application with front camera works as well.
Is this a common thing ?
No, it seems like you are the only one with this problem. If it above does not solve it, I don't know.
This is a known issue. Start the camera, switch to portrait mode, then switch to FFC. It works fine with the latest Google camera port than with the Xiaomi camera. Once the app has crashed, to recover it, dismiss the app from Recents.
I had it too i switched back to stock then i formated from twrp then if you don't know what to do when you dont have an os don't freak out just connect it to the pc and drag and drop the files/rom into the phone install and you should be good to go
