I was hoping for a way to disable the touchpad while I type and may have stumbled across a way of doing it. Unfortunately, I did it by mistake and don't know how to get it back. I picked up the tablet with the keyboard attached and hit a few keys on the right side of the board by mistake. Now I have no touchpad/curser. I did a cold reboot and still can't get it back. Any ideas? All the keys work just fine..
I did the same thing...
Fn + the key to the upper left of 3 (touch pad looking icon)
/sm
Sweet! That did it thanks.

I've been pretty happy with this phone, especially since I got WM6 on it but I'd like to be able to use Morphgear as an emulator. When I do, I like to use it in "west" orientation with my left thumb on the control pad and my two main buttons as Button 1 (the "mail" button) and Button 5 (the "comm manager" button) so I can press them at the same time with my thumb on 1 and my index finger on 5. When I try to map the buttons that way in Morphgear, it calls Button 5 Button 6 instead and it doesn't work in game. I thought it might be a Morphgear issue but I've tried it with other emulators and it doesn't work in them either. Why is that? Is there any way to correct it? Another annoying issue is that whenever I accidentally press the center of the control pad and Button 1 at the same time it wants to align the screen.
Any help?

that combination is probably a built in feature to pull up the align screen program for your device, and i am pretty sure can be removed by tweaking the reg. settings that correspond to the short cut.
You should post your issue under the tnt rom thread to avoid creating redundant threads.
cheers
try vjcalibrula .
it may turn calibration combo off... it works on wizard, at last..
My dpad stopped working properly. Up/down direction are nearly fine but right/left and enter I have to press hard to make it work which gets really annoying. Unfortunately my phone is no longer under warranty.
So I removed the keyboard and tried to clean up under it using acetone. It got better but not for long.
Did anyone face the same problem and managed to solve it ? Whithout buying a new keyboard if possible.
Thanks!
I also had the same problem (had to press very hard to make Up button work). I got help from 4pda.ru forum.
I inserted a toothpick into the point between D-pad, 2, 3 and right softkey, then moved it a little to the left, pushing D-pad towards the 2 button. After that I was able to clean the area under d-pad with cottonwool tampon (+spirit), after that everything worked like a charm.
Be careful! Don't push too hard or else you'll tear the rubber padding and your D-pad will be loose.
My d-pad button actually broke off, the 2 connector pieces snapped and it just fell out.
When you take it apart, are you able to get it functioning by just pressing the dome switches with your finger or a pen? Sounds like the switches aren't making contact properly.
I'm having a problem with the d pad too.
at times the down direction doesnt work.
when it does, it sometimes gets stuck and keeps scrolling no matter which application i'm using.
rest all direction keys are working.
very hard to work like that...
I'm using Butler [ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=464611 ] to use the extra functionality of the hardware keys ... the only thing missing for me now is the possibility to use the 2 top buttons of the touch pro [Home and Back] for the left and right softkey (that's the only thing I miss from the kaiser). Any ideas how to do it without AEB ?
And is there a program you can launch to go to the today screen?
I'd be interested in this also. Thus far Da_G's latest roms have been able to reprogram every button except volume, home, and back keys.
Unfortunately the Volume, Home, and Back keys give me the most trouble. I always keep my phone on vibrate and I never use the Home/Back buttons. Even a good way to simply disable these keys would be a start. I'd much rather be able to use my dpad without ending up at the today screen.
Although someone said they used AEB to remap the Home/Back buttons to ONLY function on a double tap.
i was just thinking about this. i noticed i could change long press for send and end as soft keys. not enough buttons on the device you know.
I also would love to be able to reprogram the home and back keys to be the left and right softkeys. There has to be some way to do it...
I did some more searching on this topic. Try DredSensor. It works for me so far.

If we can get the home, back button, set as left and right softkeys as well as set pressing the center button in as OK button then i would have zero complaints about my att fuze. Sometimes i turn my tilt back on just to use programs such as opera mini, life is so much easier with softkeys!

Yes im sure everyone is aware of dredsensor which is what i have to use when running opera mini on my fuze. What we are talking about is setting the home and back button as softkeys for good for all apps by default and also having the center button as OK as well. Do we really need a home and back button anyways? I mean we have touch screen phones, i can drag my thumb to get to home screen and press the center button to go back if set to OK button.
No we don't need an Home and Back button. The home button works the exact same as the End key. The back button is iffy. While I don't use it much, I'm sure "some" people do. There are the occasional situations when the back button is useful.
If you make the Center button "Close/Ok", then you won't have a select button. What WOULD work is set the center button to default, but do an "Close/Ok" on Center Hold.
I wish we had all the buttons unlocked to do what we wish. Using Home/Back as softkeys aren't a big deal to me, BUT being able to at least disable them or remap them in games would be sweet. (yes I know about DredSensor... I'm talking about permanent).
Another thing I am aiming for is a "virtual D-pad" using the touch pad area around the center button. Allowing us to navigate simply by making contact to the "hotspots". This would at least fix the problem with using the Dpad in games without ending up at the today screen.
If we could offload the navigational functions to the touchpad... then we could remap the buttons up/down to launch programs or whatever (left and right too).
So Pressing the buttons on the touchpad could launch apps or be used as softkeys or whatever but touching the touchpad would navigate.
Here is the thread; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=473023
The last couple of posts have been playing down my earlier suggestion to use dredsensor to remap the home and back buttons to be the left and right softkeys (the topic of this thread). I'm not affiliated with dredsensor in any way, but I wanted to clear up this issue.
Since version 1.1 was posted on 1/17, you can in fact remap the buttons as stated above. In your config.ini file, for the [Default] profile with WindowTitle=* and ClassName=*, you have the entries:
HardKey_Launch1=Key:SoftKey1and
HardKey_Launch3=Key:SoftKey2
I'm not sure what you guys mean by "permanent" or "for good for all apps by default", but with this configuration these rules should apply in any app, which would seem to be what you want. I've been using this for a few days now and it works for me in the applications I've used. Anyway, it's just a suggestion. Maybe give it a try and I hope it helps.
i followed your suggestion..but i find the behavior erratic..sometimes it looks like it just goes to sleep and the keys are back to normal, and then out of nowhere starts to run again :\

From what I've read, there could be problems if you have G-Scroll installed, or maybe on some specific ROMs. Maybe post the issues you are having so that the developer can fix it in the next version.

Hi,
I've had my Touch Pro for around 2 years now, and some keys are starting to get hard to press, so I have to press them harder or else they won't work.
It's happening on a few keys, but most notably the left shift.
I did some research and the only solution I found was this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=450583
But I think that would be a last resort solution. Is there a simpler way to fix the keys, preferably without having to open the phone?
Thanks.
oo same here! my space, C, backspace and left key are hard to press.
btw I have had mine for about 1 year now.
edit: tried to open my at&t fuze to hammer those incisions but I couldn't get the keyboard off the main part
Remove the keyboard and line it back up. The keyboard is all one piece.
If problem still happens, get a new keyboard. They're cheap on ebay. $10-$20USD.
I have a Touch Pro Keyboard to offer you guys
If you have a TF101 and a dock, with Stock ICS, can you please tell me:
when docked:
1. does clicking the mouse wake your tablet from sleep?
2. does moving the touchpad wake your tablet from sleep?
3. does anything else wake up your tablet, besides opening it up, and the power button?
Thanks, I'm trying to figure out if my dock is normal, or if it has a bad I/O, and I'd rather not have to flash the stock rom just to find out, it's a pain if you're just going to use it for 5 minutes.
touching the mouse pad does wake up mine...
Touching the pad does wake up the screen. Clicking the mouse button also wakes up the screen for me too.
Yes, touching the mousepad / moving mouse cursor / pressing left (only left, not right) button under mousepad wakes my TF up. But that's about it, besides this and power button nothing else does that.
all right, thanks everyone, I guess it sounds like my dock is normal then. (somebody on here told me I might have a bad I/O on my dock and might need to RMA it, but I guess mine is fine)
