Guys, anyone knows how to use the G-tab weather app in transformer? I guess some mods would have to be made since the resolution of the transformer is 1280x800. Would be great if someone could make the G-tab weather app into an apk file that could be installed on other devices (specifically the transformer).
Any help greatly appreciated.!!!!
Bump...anyone?
I'd like basically the opposite thing: the transformer weather widget for the gtab. I saw that an apk of it is available, but only works for honeycomb devices.
The problem with the gTab weather app is that it relies on the Home Screen from the gTab. Even on a gTab with a custom rom if you put on the weather.apk it will just force close without the TapnTap launcher.
I am pretty sure neither of those things work without a resolution of 1024x600.

So I tried to get a couple of the Apps from the Asus Transformer working on my Xoom but I can't seem to get them working.
The Transformer and Xoom are both odex'd, so I didn't think it'd be an issue getting them to work. I tried the MyWater live wallpaper, and the Weather widget from the transformer. I copied them both to /system/app along with the .odex files and changed the permissions to what they are supposed to be via Root Explorer, but no go.
Does anyone have any insight? Is it possible?
Would it be tied to the framework like some have said people think there is a skin on it I have no idea but it could be possible anyone wanna give it a go?

Hi:
I'm going to give my 82-year-old Mom my Transformer because she spends all of her days taking care of Dad, who has Alzheimer's, at a hospital. She is quite with it and uses her PC every day for Web browsing, email, PowerPoint and Word (!), and has her own Web site that she updates.
That said, I think the Honeycomb UI is a bit more complicated for her than I'd like. I'd prefer a single home screen with widgets and the few apps she'd use, but 1) NO app drawer, and 2) only one home screen, with 3) all icons and widgets locked down so she doesn't accidentally drag them around. Something like an iPad, come to think of it... (boo, hiss!) Also, disabling the lock screen would be nice.
Any ideas? I just tried ADW EX and for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to set it up like that. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
adw should do all of that and for the app drawer just change the icon in the top left to something else as you can change it. its the only one that works at all wel in honeycomb right now

For a while now I've been using this app called autoresizewallpaper to put landscape wallpapers on my homecomb tablet. It works better than live wallpaper widget but its kind of hard to use. It puts wallpapers on perfectly and keeps the high resolution that HC supports.

Anyway you guys should give it a try and see how it works for you.
Btw: make sure that you read the settings because it can be difficult to set up and apply, but its completely worth it.
Alright so I've rooted and got everything updated on 6.2.1 and I've purchased the Christmas HD 3D livewallpaper by dualbootgames and I've noticed the scrolling doesn't appear to work on not just this wallpaper but any wallpaper. Is there a way to make it work?
I was on Go Launcher and I thought maybe it was just that but I downloaded ADW and it still doesn't allow scrolling even with all the settings set to allow scrolling.
As far as I can find out, there's no way to get scrolling wallpaper on the Kindle Fire version of the OS. I'd never actually seen scrolling wallpaper in action till I loaded CM7 on my Fire. Spent a lot of time poking through various files trying to figure out a way to enable it in the stock OS, but no luck.
Ok that's all I wanted to know, thanks. It'd be nice to get it working without having to go to CM7 imo but it is what it is.
I'll add that I'm no expert, so perhaps someone with more skill than I can find a way to enable wallpaper scrolling. I'd certainly like to have it without having to go to CM7. (at least until CM7 has full ability to run the apps that run on the stock OS.)
Would this be possible? I love the widget on my tablet, and on my GF's nexus... but can not for the life of me find a way to get it onto my Skyrocket (2.3.5). Are my only options to wait for ICS or run a 3rd party widget (which require monkeying with the gmail.apk...)?
[edit] Or can someone point me to a place outside the skyrocket forum to request this?
One Bump in the hopes that someone has a response.

I am pretty sure that gingerbread doesn't support scrollable widgets by default. Maybe if someone could mod it to work on like launcher pro, but i doubt that. Launcher pro plus widgets would be a good option for you though.
i think gingerbread doesn't allow 3rd party app access gmail.apk, so there's no way to get a gmail widget by default.
Ahhhhh, thanks for the info. Now the other thread on modding the gmail.apk makes more sense.
