Gameboid Emulator Pulled From the Market? - Android Apps and Games

Hey I didn't see any threads for this in a search and none in the similar threads. I payed $4 for this app and I just flashed a new rom and I was looking for it to install and it seems to be pulled from the market. Can anyone confirm that this app disappeared?
I really don't want to have to restore an old nandroid backup to get this back. But its looking like I will have to.

Gone from my market as well.

There is nothing I can do to get refunded is there?

I just checked on my unrooted Echo. No luck on finding it.
I think you might have to contact Google or the App developer about getting a refund.

Who is the dev for Gameboid? I was able to recover GameBoid 2.4.7 through a nandroid backup and then a titanium backup. But I would like to find an APK so I don't ever lose it again. Anyone have one or know where one is?

If you have succesfully recovered the app through Titanium Backup, take a look into /data/app and there's the apk of Gameboid!

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Gensoid suffered the same fate didn't it? And it doesn't work ie it doesn't load the roms. Gameboid was perfect on my sensation.

All yongzhs apps are going. I own all but nesoid. So unfortunately I have to use a cracked copy now (I can't really ask for a refund for apps I bought a year ago). Sad that Google don't even give purchasers a warning that something they paid for will be basically stolen away from them.

[APP] IF YOU FLASH YOUR PHONE REGULARLY CHECK THIS OUT, Zemna App List Back Up

Hey guys,
Im sure many of you know about the problems which can be caused backing up apps and restoring them to different android versions (problems with force close, reboots, general instability / compatibility).
I found this great free app which makes a list of all your apps you have installed into an XML on your sd card (so it wont get wiped when flashing your phone) and will allow you to open the XML and select an app and it will take you to the market place page for your selected app to download it again.
I find the market place 'my apps' will only remember my paid apps after changing roms and this is a much more reliable way and safer way to get your apps back, plus its just easier to have all your old apps in a list ready to download and not searching for ages right?!
I flash my phone quite regularly and with this app you can be sure you get the correct version of your apps not restoring one that's not compatible and cause problems.
Here's the App Brain link http://www.appbrain.com/app/zemna-applist-backup/net.zemna.android.applistbackup. I don't expect this to changes lives buts its a helpful tool, for free!
I'm not the dev for this app and take no credit for his / hers / their work! Feel free to hit 'THANKS' if this is useful to you.
Enjoy ;-)

to be honest not much usefull, but still appreciated...!!
I found it good, each to their own opinions I guess. Just thought I'd share cos my market never shows my free apps after flashing and its just easier to use this than spend ages searching for the all again, there're just there in a list ready to download

Already done
easiest way is to copy /data/app to your sd card. then copy all the apks from there to your computer and put them into flashtool's "/custom/app" folder. then after flashing your new rom, click "customize" in flash tool. bam, all your apps are installed without having to wait for downloading.
biggest downfall is losing app's saved "data". ei highscores and settings.
you can back these up by copying the program's data folder from /data/data to your sd card. the data folder for the program will look like this:
come.rovio.angrybirds (angry birds)
inside the data folder you will find different data files, some will be settings, highscores, etc. it will be different for every program. once you reinstall the app. you can copy JUST the data files to replace settings, scores, etc. don't copy the entire folder or you will get FC's.
That makes sense although iv never tried it. In theroy you could use the flashtool to put all the apps back on the phone and then with titanium back up restore data only and it not cause problems?

why not just use titanium backup? there's a free version. it needs root, but if you're flashing roms so often, you would already have root. you can back up everything, and batch restore everything. better than clicking 1 app at a time imo

I see where your coming from but backing up and restoring apps between different versions of android isn't really a good idea and there is different versions of apps for different android versions which is where the compatibility issues and stability problems come in.
The idea of this is it saves all your apps and you can download the right version for your particular configuration on your phone.

i hate restoring with titanium. you have to confirm each individual reinstall.
There is a batch mode you know and just leave it to do its thing automaticly. Batch restore brings everything back, I only had to confirm once at the start of the process

thanks for recommending this app, as it is really useful
i do not recommend tb/mybackup if you are switching between android versions as some apks might not be compatible
using this you can link to the market really easy and it ensures you having apps installing in the right way =)

You should read the OP again, TB isn't always the best choice. Especially between different roms and versions of android.

I use TB and restore just the app, no data.
For games like AB there are back up apps available on the AM and I've not had any problems using this method!

How to backup all your data

Some ROMS require you to wipe /data as well as /system. So how would i backup all my stuff so that I can simply restore all my stuff after the changes. Like lets say im running on weapon G2x right now but I want to change my ROM to PhoenixBlood, but i dont want to lose my GTA 3 saves (true story XD). Would be greatly appreciated. And pleas don't tell me just to wipe dalvik cache and /cache. Im going to be using G2X scrubber before the install. Thanks!
Sent from my G2X
Titanium Backup Pro lets you backup all apps along with their data. You can also backup system data too, but you might run into problems trying to restore Weapon's system data to PB. Basically I just use the default batch backups under "Schedules"

Yes, backups work w/ the free version. But i highly recommend buying the PRO/Donate version. In the PRO version, it features 0-click batch restores, so you won't have to click "install" for every app you restore. Plus, the developer puts a ton of work into this app, and once you buy the PRO version, its yours for life, no matter how many times it updates. Just a suggestion

It works great on the free version. Also you may want to then copy your TI backup to your PC. One time I formatted one too many things including my SD card. Lost everything, which really sucks if you play games.
Okay, thanks for the input, im going to buy the pro version

Yeah titanium backup is the way to go. Run the batch action for user apps system apps wont do ya any good and can cause issues. I would make a Android backup also can't be to careful
Making bad decision's one at a time.

[Q] Titanium Back Up - Striked out Apps

Hi guys. I am new to rooting, and finally took the plunge and rooted my LG Thrill. the main reason I rooted was to get hotspot access as well as freeze bloatware. I doubt I will ever use a custom rom.
With that said, after rooting with Megatron, I used Titanium backup to backup apps and to freeze a few.
My question is this: I have a short list at the bottom of my apps (8) that are striked out. The list is below.
1) What are these?
2) Can I remove them under REMOVE ORPHAN DATA without any ill effects?
3) Are these parts of frozen apps?
I haven't been able to find much info on these.

btips_tmp
com.lge.auto_detecting_test
com.lge.charging_test
com.lge.external_memory_test
com.lge.fluidmedia
com.lge.gpsts
com.lge.lgmits
I truly appreciate all the help I have received from this forum...although I haven't posted much, I have read quite a bit and all of your posts have helped me immensely.
Thanks again!
The ones with the lines through them are just apps that have been backed up but are not on your phone anymore or are frozen

Not sure what you mean? This is the only phone I have rooted and used Titanium with.
I would like to use the function to "Remove Orphan Data", but don't want to mess anything up.
It shows them as No backup yet...but doesn't seem to be a way to back them up...probably because it thinks these were old apps.
Can suggestions or advise would be greatly appreciated!

I don't see how they could be things that are not on the phone anymore as I did the backup, then froze a couple of apps and haven't removed anything.
You mention that these could be from frozen apps too...so if there was something that couldn't get backed up, then I froze it, these could be from those frozen programs?
So in practice, if I were to unfreeze my apps, I should see those strikes removed????
Yes

Backing up apps

Hey everyone sorry if this has bee asked already but, I use to use cm7 and I just switched to paranoid android build 8 and was wondering if theres a way to back up my apps like example(on the game 100 floors if I saved it to my SD card and re downloaded would it save all my floors?) Thanks!

We won't go into discussion of the "free"ness you speak of. It's not tolerated here and I HIGHLY discourage it as a practice.

[Q] Backup app recommendations?

Hey all,
If you've been around a while (like me) chances are you've become pretty accustomed to the process every time a new build is released: download build & newest GApps, backup old apps and settings, wipe everything, flash both and restore...right? Cool.
Well I've been trying to update beanstalk as per usual but the backup app I've been using (prior to this point, without error) decided it no longer likes me. It's called My BackUp Root and it's always served my purposes magnificently. Before MBuR, I used Titanium Backup and when MBuR failed a few days ago I tried TiBu again. At this point, neither works for me. The phone either reboots or the process hangs, never finishing successfully.
SO
Any backup app recommendations that aren't MyBackUp Root or Titanium? I am of course rooted. I want to back up APKs, Data, and whatever settings I can. Thanks!

You have to buy it to batch restore! I wish I had known that before!!! Although if there were an app to buy, I think it would be this one. Extremely well-developed. Nice UI and features are perfect.
