I just got my xperia play and planned to get nesoid, snesoid, etc ... but they all seem to be missing from the market. Are these really gone? Is there anywhere else to get them? Thanks in advance for any help!
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
they were there yesterday, maybe the dev is updating them or something *fingers crossed*
For snes and gba roms no need to pay. Other free emulators do the same job.
The best two would be Snes9x its fully free no adverts and hundreds of roms ive tried with it worked perfectly or Tiger snes also free but theres an advert in roms menu (hardly noticeable) and when the rom launches it goes away. Again loads of roms ive tried have worked in tiger snes fine.
For GBA roms i use Tiger GBA again free with an advert in the roms menu.
All three ive mentioned allow you to save as well as load for free.

Thank you. The last time I fired up the ROMs, the ---oid games were hailed as the best ones out there. I wasn't sure which other ones to shop around for. Much appreciated, I'll check these out!

No problem mate. I also thought the paid ones were the best but according to the description on Snes9x
Snes9x emulator for the SNES/Super Famicom based on Snes9x 1.43. Beware of Market apps using Snes9x commercially under different names (SNesoid, Tiger SNES, and many others). Snes9x has a non-commercial use license and these apps cannot legally be sold or force you to view ads

So as far as snes emulators goes snes9x is prob the best. Not had time to try any others out to busy playing on GBA and Snes roms
I just got an email from him stating that google took all of his emulators off for violating a service that they didn't go in detail about. He says he may put his emulators on another marketplace for free for around 2 weeks so that the people who bought them get them for free at first.
I experienced a slight lag in the buttons with snes9x, really liked snesoid

I decided to use tiger snes out of the two and havent really noticed said lag not to sure tbh. Although before updating to 2.3.3 i noticed button lag (nothing major just slightly) in Bruce lee not any more after update
They are all available on the SlideMe altermarket. It still is a low blow, because I bought practically the whole array of emulators by him. Let's see...
I hope youngzhu reups them some time soon
Looks like the android market is turning into the apple app store, everything being removed deleted and banned.
Yayyy
I noticed this when I first got the play. I managed to find the apk's for the programs so I still have them, but still, it's inconvenient. Specially since I paid money for those damn apps.
Have they now removed the Tiger Emulator range too?!
I know they were there a few days ago cos they all updated on my phone.
Jesus Google, if they have been removed, I left Apple cos of this BS.

Tiger Arcade and Tiger PCSX are still up. Hmmm...
Maybe a claim by Nintendo then?
Haven't they fleeced us enough with their price fixing in Europe.

Arfff! There are a problem with save states! If I use task killer or if I reboot my phone, load states don't work, the game just restart or I go back to the menu. If task still runing, there's no problem but i must don't reboot my phone.....
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
You might need to actually quit the emulator before it writes the save state to the phone. Try that and see what happens.
How I can do that? I don't know what you say sorry. Can you explain more?

i would suggest anyone looking for gameloft titles to go the gameloft.com FROM YOUR PHONE. you can 1)charge to your phone bill 2) there's a buy one get one free sale 3) if you buy via the sale... they're cheaper than buying regular (ie.. buy NOVA standalone is 4.99.. purchase on sale it's 2.99 PLUS a free game). I spet 12 bux and got a ton of great games that all work on the g2x. BUY THESE GAMES. Support gameloft so they can stop being punks and GO INTO THE MARKET FULLY.

That sounds great and all........but what about for us addicted with flashing ROMs. My experience with Gameloft.com in the past, is as soon as I switched ROMs I could no longer use the game because it was purchased under the previous ROM. I don't know if things changed, but it seemed Gameloft used to have their games on lock down pretty well before. If things have changed and we can use the same .apk throughout multiple ROM swithches, then sweet I'll be all over it. So let me know if anyone has tried purchasing these games off of Gameloft.com and tried using them after flashing different ROMs.
I use titanium backup to restore em.. no problems what so ever chief. I just flashed back from CM7 (2.3) to stock today.. picked up right where I left off.
Also make sure you keep you're APKs in case you need to reinstall. secondly.. i read somewhere yesterday (and tested it) Gameloft lets you redownload apps as long as you can log back in.

Sweetness!!! That sounds awesome. Guess now that I think about it I never used TiBu in the past to restore my games because I used to have problems in the past. This was from my N1 times. LOL! Ok, though, thanks a lot for your response, that's exactly what I wanted to hear.
just remember if you switch from stock to cm you have to copy the gameloft directory over. (needs to be on external sd for CM7 and internal memory for stock).
EDIT: also.. i tried downloading some games I purchased on my G2 and got a "this is not an orginal.. bla bla bla" error. Hopefully they're working on it.. doesn't look like "cross device" installs will work. they're still device specific.. but cross roms is works with titanium
yea btate sometimes when i switch roms i go to titanium to restore some of my games n i get the error ur talkin about
really? that's odd.. i just flashed CM7 again and restored via titan and all is peachy (wanted to fact check so I didn't mislead anyone). However reinstalling with the APK.. that's a problem. Titanium solved that issue for me.
which games were you trying to run? i darn near have them all so maybe that issue could be game specific? (i didn't run each one. just spot checked 2 of them)
Also.. make sure you're copying your gameloft directory to the right place.

Ah ok good stuff. Yeah I remember the games always making a Gameloft directory folder on the external sd. I'll remember to copy it over. Right now I'm on EB1.0.4FR, so I'm still pretty much on stock ROM. But yeah, I can understand when you try to play a game you downloaded for a previous model phone on your new phone that it gives you that bullcrap error. BAH!!! Oh well! Hopefully they fix it, but I won't get my hopes up. LOL!
nova and nfs shift and sometimes it says something about a copy???
were they originally purchased on the G2X? like i said.. i can't get any of the games I purchased on other hardware to run.. but I can anything I purchased on teh G2X over different roms... at least starfront is working. I am starting to have a sinking feeling that I should just insert foot to mouth. i'm going to switch back to stock momentarily and double check this. oy vey.

just confirmed. starfront DEFINITELY works across different roms. restored from backup on CM7... played fine.. just went back to a nandoid stock rom.. playing now.. picked up right where I left off. mileage varies i guess
well.. going forward, theoretically the ones you guy from the market should work accross devices.. which is why i'm suggesting everyone support and show gameloft YO.. GET YOUR BEHIND IN THE MARKET! maybe my thinking is backwards.. but I want gameloft to know that the android community supports them and we're willing to pay if they get off their behinds with that awesome catalogue of games.

Also confirmed, cps1 sound works great. About time !
Now all we need is a decent MAME emulator that supports the latest roms sets and the Xperia Play officially becomes the Worlds best portable games machine
You're not going to see a MAME that supports recent ROM sets for the Xperia Play. As MAME got more and more accurate over the years, its minimum requirements have gone up quite drastically which is why most phones/devices are based around MAME v0.34 or so.
Can someone point me to a good version of Marvel Super Heroes, and MSHvSF?
The Punisher, SamSho and SF2 work great, but I can't get those games to play for me.
edit, found a good copy of MSH
He Will Add More Games On (Tiger Arcade 3.0.0 or Later)
i Searched in Google i Wrote Tiger Arcade 1218 Wordpass
You Will Find His Blog
2.2.0 was recently released.
He said on his Twitter that 3.0.0 is being released this month and has support for over 2000 more games and - on high-end phones only - netplay.
Apparently a beta of 3.0.0 has been released to about 100 beta testers.

Purchasing data is saved in cloudy(paypal linked server). Even if you do factory reset the phone and format your sdcard. You can re-install the Tiger arcade and goto menu-settings to select manually sync payment data ,then everything is synced up. It is saying that your app is paid version again.
TigerArcade v3.0.0 alpha version is avaible for people who bought full version ! Lots of game to test, and Netplay in menu ! Great EMU.
I bought it, I believe... how did you get the alpha? Did you get an email? Is there anywhere they are selling it at now? I can't find it on Slideme, for instance.
You have to load up a game, hit the menu button then attempt to load/save a savestate and you'll be given the option of buying it.
Bought it, didn't get the update. Probably like he said, just picked first 100 people or something like that. Oh well.
Its just appeared on both the android market and the gameloft site on my phone. The gameloft site sells it for £3 and the android market for £4.99. The other issue is if you buy from the gameloft store, you can never use that apk on another android device. They are always tied to the device type. I learn that lesson the hard way. I had 6 games from them on my droid x, couldn't install a single one on my XP.
I'll never buy another gameloft game, or that BS from the ea flexion store.

Wow, really? They've been good about giving me the latest APKs when I have an issue.
The purchase history section of their mobile store is unreliable at best, but when I provide proof of purchase (I ALWAYS buy through Amazon Payments so I have an undeniable source) they usually send me the APK... and have even given me free games to make up for issues I've had :\
Ok I bought it from android market, the xperia play controls do not work and seems to be no option to enable them? I waited all this time to buy it too... Should have just googled for it ages ago eh...since gameloft spent so much time on NOT optimizing it.

Funny; I was just wondering the same thing and bought it from the Gameloft Store based on that thought...
As a side note, I notice the Amazon Payments option is gone >_<, but on the plus side there's now an account system (and an e-mail notification upon purchase) so I have a more reliable system of seeing what I purchased. That was a VERY necessary change.
I'll report if my story's any different after the data download is complete. Right off the bat I don't see it in the Xperia PLAY Game Launcher... not a good sign.
I hope it's just an update issue and will be fixed soon.
FFFF.... subscription expired... damn, it wasn't that long since I ditched iOS.
...anyway, I can't report anything because my subscription's up and the son of a ***** subscription service is down (apparently it's been down for days too).
Awww.. was hoping to find out, if anyone else tests out the gameloft site's download of Order and Chaos on Xperia play can you let us know if the controls work? Its just touch screen which is ok...but disappointing....

Well, I've been questioning Gameloft on the issue, and from what they say - it may just be a bug (does Gameloft have a error testing staff? Surely someone is testing to avoid these major issues...).
Gameloft's good about giving away free stuff to distract us from issues... hopefully they'll just bump my subscription some months or something so I can find out if this is really Xperia PLAY Optimized... or at least play while I wait for a version I can play without (lame) touch controls.
Thanks mate, been waiting for a while - id always buy from the market, more resiliance in the long run!
We should all join a guild together, what server are you going on (i'd recommend the top one)
I don't have an account so I'll have to wait until the subscription service errors are fixed.
Thanks, ive emailed them too. I made a char on the European server, storm cape.

Well I downloaded it and it seems fun but there is a lot of lag. Like when I cast a spell the animation and everything plays but the spell itself won't cast well after it's cast time. Also adding xperia play support would greatly enhance the experience as it's pretty annoying at times with the touch screen controls.

Are you using the official version from the SlideMe market? Papaer Mario run's really well for me. There may be a quick flash when switching between cut scenes, but gameplay is damn near perfect.
This is the Paper Mario ROM I used:

I didn't try v1, but if you were, that could've been your issue.
Anyone know of other N64 games that are so well-suited to the lack of physical controls?

What the heck?? I bought the emulator when it first came out and heard that it got pulled by yongzh to make it better or something(?) I've been waiting for it to come out and forgot about it. Now I have to go on a third party marketplace and pay again??
I think some of the modules/source he used fell foul of the gpl and it got pulled from the market. When it got moved to slideme he made it free for a while so the existing buyers could get it again, then it went paid again.
I paid twice, and am very happy with it
btw, I use a ps3 controller with it, via the six axis app on the market.

i think when Google removes an app from market they should refund the money of anyone who bought this. i already paid once for this and i shouldn't have to pay again. At least i dont feel bad pirating it knowing the dev already has my money lol.

when you played paper mario did it have like a 4 to 5 second lag when pressing the start button to open the menu and then an obnoxious black white checkered background? trying to figure it if its emulator or rom. I never actually played that game but a quarter of the way through super mario rpg for the 20th time, i figured I would give it a try lol.
I use a wii controller with a classic attachment since it has 2 joysticks and the pad works great when playing N64 or any of the other emulated game systems, even works when I remoted into my laptop to play a NDS emulator.
Hello, I had a pirate fpse app and had trouble with the license check failed but got a serious spanking from admin for talking about this, so I did the right thing and go out and buy the app but I now have trouble with 2 of my favorite games, street fighter 3 alpha & mortal kombat trilogy. Both of my games have now froze on a black screen when trying to load up, I have uninstalled and then installed but still have the same problem, does anybody out there have a fix or know where I could pick a working Rom online.
Thanks in advance.
Ps sorry admin, I hope you are allowed to ask about roms online? If not please feel free to close this thread.
I'm not surprised you got a lashing for mentioning using pirated software. Glad you purchased the app, as the devs really do great work, and deserve the measly couple of dollars.
Using game ROMS off websites is fine, but the disclaimer usually mentions that you should own the game if downloading a ROM.
At one stage I played MK3, so it must be the ROM you are using. Have you ever successfully got it to work? Like prior to your purchase?

I'm not surprised you got a lashing for mentioning using pirated software. Glad you purchased the app, as the devs really do great work, and deserve the measly couple of dollars.
Using game ROMS off websites is fine, but the disclaimer usually mentions that you should own the game if downloading a ROM.
At one stage I played MK3, so it must be the ROM you are using. Have you ever successfully got it to work? Like prior to your purchase?

Yes this is correct, I was able to play both games before installing the paid app. I am currently searching the net but struggling to get any download from various sites, and yes I did own these games in the past but are long gone now.

Have you check the video setting since purchasing the app what device did you use it for. I have nexus seven and i played street fighter alpha. I had bit trouble creat the files with the tools i found online but there is a site called cool roms that has the files. You must own the game first.
