Hi,
Would like to get you people's opinion if I should replace the stock launcher with either ADW Ex or LP+?
Thanks advice is much appreciated

I use go launcher...its a matter of taste. Go just happens to have an appdrawer design I like and atheme I enjoy. Just download a few and see what works.

I downloaded 4 different launcher apps, and used the Home Screen Switcher to test them out.
Its quick and convenient, and you'll never be bored of the look on the device.
Launcher pro for me, the Widgets are nice and the swipe feature to see miss calleds or SMS is the best, I had it over a year now, I use adw but didn't like it as much

Does both of them consume alot of battery compared to stock launcher ... ?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
There should be no diffwerence in battery consumption. I really like LP but ADW is also very good and like stated above it is really a personal preference I have the paid versions of both
ADW does do quite a bit of theming if that is your thing start there first

Battery life is the same for me as long as you no start using extra widgets because launcher pro plus had more then you ash should be fine

I bought the LP+, and definitely didn't look back. One gripe is that there aren't much font back on the market ...

Im a adw fan and intend on using it. I read someone say lp has some lag.
Anyone try adw or other launchers yet that have been good?

i installed adw ex almost right away since getting my phone this afternoon. works fine. the app drawer seems a little slow though. i have it set to fast in adw.
Same here. ADW EX is working great.

The new v4 that flings? Damn i love how smooth it is. Anything else?
Good to know adw is running good.

Caught between ADW (newest release really speeds up the drawer) and LP...options are a good thing.
I've been using ADW EX since getting the phone and on my nexus one. The drawer was always a bit slow on first load, but works awesome after

Stock has the smoothest app drawer out of any of them. And I don't resize widgets or use scrollable widgets so I just stick with the default.
I use lp and it hasn't caused problems nor lag. I set the app drawer to 3D verticle which is identicle to the stock one and its super fast...very zippy
Adw is good too. Its a preference thing so I prefer lp

Here, read my review thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068898
ive been using ADW EX on mytouch4g and just got my lg g2x and its running great expecially with the new update that just came out today. it has way more easier access to customization.
its well worth the couple bucks$
I moved to launcher pro. Adw is my favorite for options. But LP is just fast.

Hmm.. I'll have to try LP. Wasn't happy with it in the past, maybe it's better now.

Did you read my launcher reviews? Launcher Pro used to be king of speed on the G2x but with the recent update from ADW which allows the launcher to take advantage of duel core CPU's by allowing the use of hardware acceleration. Using the paid version of ADW speeds up the entire G2x as a whole. Now the ball is in LP's court. They need to retake the king of speed back from ADW.

It is lightning fast and was the quickest until ADW just optimized theirs with a update yesterday. I didn't think anything could compete with LP but ADW really stepped up to the plate with there hardware acceleration update. By the way. You only get hardware acceleration in ADW EX. It's worth every penny as it makes the entire phone quicker and more smooth.

What's the Best Home Launcher For Sidekick 4g HELP .!
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda premium
It ain't the stock TouchWiz launcher. That thing has a memory leak.
I don't know if it's Samsung or the Froyo VM. Either way, you can't go wrong. Ditch the stock launcher asap.
Sent from my SGH-T839 using XDA App
Thanks man but dude the stock launcher really does suckkk
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda premium
i'd say you can't go wrong with Launcher Pro, Go Launcher Ex, Zeam, or ADW Ex.... and probably there are others. not sure there is really a best, it sorta comes down to personal preference.
Launcher pro is goood ause its quick but hard to customize and stuff go launcher goood but too much like adw and zeam its ok but laggs at time but I am on gingerclone v2 right now oh by the way do u know any goood widgets
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda premium
I haven't used many widgets on the SK at all, but have you tried Fancy Widgets or Beautiful Widgets from the market?
Noo I love weather and toggle our something like that it better to me cause I can havee sense clock on my phonee
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda premium
Well, there's a potential hangup right there. Most widgets will run as a service in the background and eat your RAM/CPU. I've seen all kinds of widgets that boast about how compact they are based solely on the size of the app, but the download size really isn't what you are concerned with; it's the amount of your limited memory that is going to be consumed physicaly running the widget on your device.
Android is very reluctant to shut down services. For instance, I've been trying out a new battery and used a nice battery widget to monitor performance. That's all fine and good, but it ate 20 megs
Sent from my SGH-T839 using XDA App
Thatss crazy I didn't know that but my ram acts kinda funnny it willl be alll goood then it will go down dramaticallly its not funnny and then goes up so what clock widget the bes u may say ?

I would recommend Go Launcher, with Sira Theme.

I just found this launcher and wanted to share it. It's awesome. Had features I haven't seen on other launchers. You can pull the SMS and phone icons up and view your latest calls and texts straight on your home screen in a pull up drawer. Check it out

Not really my taste, but it has a LOT of potential though! I wish the developers luck!
If you could change the dock icons it would be awesome
What's your favorite launcher? I'm trying to figure out witch one I like most. Some are to much some are not enough. I'm liking apex at the moment. I've tried go, nova, adw. What's your input?

I used to use Go all the time, but switched to Nova fairly recently, and am very happy with it. The only thing I miss from Go is the "recent apps" window in the app drawer, but the built-in recent apps menu is pretty close in functionality.
I've tried about all of them and keep coming back to Apex. The free version allows you to use some gestures that Nova charges for. I didn't like the recent update because it was giving me problems dropping apps in folders so I am using an older version.
I used to use Go but switched to Nova after I tried all of them, became a favorite of mine.

I use Nova Launcher, so fast its really good ( and using CleanROM 4.5) so its really good with performance and stability.
Using nova here as it was on sale for only 25 cents a month or so ago... Hard to pass that up. Before that was just using touchwiz and on my DROID eris back in the day I used adw and maybe go launcher.

Swaps sidebar for my apps, and go Sms has an icon popup when I receive a text overall quite happy as it seems to give my phone a bit more umph.. Had a higher score with 3Dmark using this setup over touch whiz.
Apex launcher
Zopper widgets
Swapps sidebar.
Look forward to people's customisation, mines pretty plain n simple
