As far as I know, it had something to do with a dispute between him and option94, and option banned him.. Option94 won't shed a single photon of light on the dispute, and he hasn't been on XDA since the 29th so something isn't right... I'm not concerned dev-wise, but can this forum, the x10 mini and the other ones he does be left without a moderator? Hmmm.....

As far as I know, option94 is getting into iOS development, so his future status as a mod here in unknown. I've been wondering about his status here for a while.

About a month or so ago I got on online late one night and someone had posted a bunch of posts in almost every thread of this forum. Who ever it was created a new screen name every few posts. All the posts were directed towards option and the scottsman and were nothing but excessive cursing and slander towards both. I had always wondered who it was and after reading this thread, I am leaning toward it being this rafyvitto guy. So let's just say after what I read that night, if it does happen to be the same person as this rafyvitto guy. He she most def be banned for life and nobody should ever use his work.

What difference does it make if he is here or there? His work is still posted on his site.

i love his work, and they still post it on this site for him, so whats the point in having him banned? he can do it himself and keep us updating. come on!

pretty sure it wasn't him, he spends most of his time porting roms. check his work for yourself.

I think that it should be a rule that only Devs can create threads in the Dev section. Anyone can post, but only devs should be able to create a thread in that section

Agreed. But the device is still new and we don't have S-Off.
And you can't block for only devs to post in the development section because there may be a rare occasion that a new person to XDA will find something revenant and it actually go in that section.

I actually considered that, but those instances are rare and it would be simple for a mod to just move a noobs valid dev thread to the dev section from general.

Unfortunately there's just not enough Mods for that.

I just want to add...not flame here....
Keep in mind the 'early' release at wally mart, the instances of "upgrades" for some that got a deal on this great phone s-off and all.
For the price this piece of hardware is worth its weight in gold IMO. Me coming from a N1 and I assume most people had a hand in one as well. And for me the N1 did not have a subsidized carrier to discount the phone. If it ever was, I would say it would have been rare. Because of this, the N1 didn't have a big influx of noobs. It was price and brick and mortar stores that helped the sale this time around. If google did this with tmo first off, by this time the S4g was released, they could have built up a great marketing campaign IMO. But I digress...
So an influx of noobs? Sure you'd get these with every well made phone. Just the nature of the beast and marketing.

Kinda sucks, but being rude kept the idiots at bay and made them think before posting.

This is pointless, this forum needs competent moderation to lock and delete threads such as these.

And all the comments talking about how useless this thread is should be deleted. I managed to get a rep to slip that the Sensation and EVO 3D were the first priority for unlocking and they would be done at the same time. I'll post it here in a bit.

People are anxious to share whatever information they have. I'm not going to hold that against anyone.
There has been a ton of bull**** but I don't mind right now since there's not much else going on. Even reading clogged threads has provided me with information and entertainment.

This is a Poll to show the support for or against TripNRaver's presence at XDA in the Sensation forum.
I love my sensation, and I feel his presence here could improve our device. I don't know the whole story from his past here, however, I think if the overwhelming majority of responses are favorable to having him here, maybe the Site owner would consider his return. I know it has been done for other Dev's in the past under Very similar situations (PM me for examples of this if you wish.)
This could be a very good thing for our devices, now that he has a Sense ROM as well.

If he really wanted to come back, wouldn't he just sign up under another account? I mean, IP and Username bans can only go so far.

[THINKTANK] Root 1.85

I'm really thrilled with what's been accomplished so far. Without benefit of source we have a nice handfull of ROMS including a mostly working AOKP and CM9.
What we're lacking is ROOT on the now shipping 1.85. This means that fewer and fewer users will be able to install your amazing work as phones get replaced for warranty issues and new owners come to XDA looking to improve their devices.
I've started a bounty thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1699379 and the bounty is at $370 and climbing.
Please help.

Please devs this is a on the knees,begging,and almost shaking lol plea for root .
And as am I pleased with all that's been done so if ya can please help us out

The development section is for releasing roms/tools/mods and collaborating on things that require development such as s-off/root. Maybe if OP started this thread as a thinktank thread and posted things he has tried already/ideas he has to obtain root on 1.85 then it would be appropriate here, otherwise it should be in general (where there are plenty of threads that talk about this already).

And this is a step forward without root for newcomers this could get bad for all of us . So in theory this is a project for development and is some of us contributing time and money to better the community ,not just ranting and "spamming"

Yes I know what DEV is for. I believe that we have a special case and exigent circumstances here and spreading the word to the forum that DEVS actually look at makes sense yes?

Gunny I appreciate the effort you put in on general and this thread. Your right about alerting the devs bc the probably never go to general. Keep it up hopefully we'll get root sooner then later. We're on the same boat

Anyway, at this point I think root is probably in the works with some developers, but on the down-low.
If any developers would be willing to at least give us a status update, a thread like this wouldn't be necessary. But until then, this thread is definitely a good idea.
