Ok, I have been reading through many threads about radio flashing, ESPECIALLY this one "[RADIO][ADV]Inspire Radio how to without ENG S-OFF"
My question is here since I cannot post there in that thread being new and all.....
I have downloaded the New ATT OTA Radio (PD98IMG-att-12.39a.60.19_26.06.06.30_M.zip
MD5 Checksum: 33baebad8b1e7a20f4603aff0ba66468)
And placed the file (renamed PD98IMG.zip) onto the root of my sd card. Turned the phone off and booted into Hboot so that the flash should begin automatically, however the issue is, it starts to load the image file and says wrong image or file type??? and goes back to the hboot menu....
Any advise on this?? Thank you very much.

Is your phone rooted? have you done the s-off? If the answer to both of these is NO.... then thats your problem. Google oneclickroot & Radio s-off & then go from there mate

Hey guys, I've been at this for hours and still can't get it .
I'm using a mac, and I've downloaded the PB31IMG.zip many times from different places. I've re-formated the SD card a few times, and when I look up the info it says MS-DOS(FAT32). I have S-On.
I've downloaded the file on a mac, on a toshiba, and even from the phone itself and it still can't find the file. It gives me the:
sd checking...
loading...pb31diag.zip
no image
loading...pb31diag.nbh
no image or wrong image
loading...pb31img.zip
no image
loading...pb31img.nbh
no image or wrong image!
I've checked the ManD5 for the one on my phone, and it's correct.
Anyone have any other tips? Thank you so much!
Brian
you have to be S-Off to flash a rom, also you have to be in clockworkmod (or what ever you use) to flash a rom
Really? Because all of the other instructions I've read were just to download that file, drag and drop and hboot so something is wrong. I also have read that S-on doesn't matter? But how would I switch it? :/
well the s-on part im not sure about because the un root should be signed by the maker. but as far as i know, hboot can be used to flash a radio if you are s-off, what phone do you have?
I have an HTC Incredible
yea i have a dinc too, when i needed to unroot i just used the rru or ruu, cant think of what, and if you need to get s-off use http://unrevoked.com/recovery/ then look for a flashing guide on the questions and answers fourm for the Dinc for a guide on that, then after flashing the ruu your back to stock
Im rooted. S-off. Running Coredroid. Ive changed the radio before but now it wont let me... even with PD98IMG on sd card, and with hack kit.
Stuck on
12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M
And ideas as to why im not able to change my radio?
more info please? is the PD98IMG.zip being recongized in hboot? or do you actually get it to flash and then it doesn't change?
It is recognized. It loads the file, after it loads, it says parsing then just stops..

Ok, sounds like you downloaded a file that wasn't in the right format to just drop it on the SDcard and boot into hboot. Lucky for us there is an easy way to do this. Go to this thread. Download the radio and corresponding RIL file. Put both on the SDcard and boot into hboot. I assume you will check the md5 sum numbers just to be sure you aren't going to flash a corrupt/bad radio file. . Everything you need is in that linked thread. RIL is easy to flash too, if you haven't done that before. Follow the instructions and you'll be fine. Good luck!
I have eng s-off. downloaded a PD98IMG from that thread, i still get no promt to install...

Ah, okay well I'm not 100% sure now if being eng s-off is going to mess with the bootloader method as described in my previous post and that thread as I'm only s-off and my experience has only got me to this point since I had a lot of trouble with radio flashing when I first started..I'm sure someone else will chime in on how to get you right on track..I know there are quite a bit of threads out there that walk you through flashing a radio with eng s-off though if you find yourself in desperate need before someone can help you out! Sorry man I couldn't be more of service to you
Thanks for the help.
Hi. I'm trying to find out how to fix this for the last few days, but so far without success. After flashing Android Revolution HD 6.0.3 from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...42&postcount=4, my hboot became locked. I didn't think it would be much of a problem, because I read that I can still flash ROMs, but then I saw this message:
"With 6.0.x ROMs I strongly recommend flashing 11.65.3504.00U_11.19.3504.29_2 radio
--- Don't flash RADIO from ClockworkMod recovery! Extract downloaded file and read the guide inside! ---"
I downloaded the file, read the instructions, but it's not letting me flash the radio since it's locked.
So how can I unlock the bootloader again, without messing sth else up?
I'm sorry if somebody answered similar question already.
Thanks in advance.

You are probably on HBOOT 1.23?
If you're using fastboot, it wont work (nothing should be locked as long as your phone still says S-OFF)
Copy the PG58IMG.ZIP to your sd card root, and reboot into bootloader, and simply follow the instructions.
Make sure you delete the file asap or it will keep trying to reinstall .

Yep I am on hboot 1.23. When you download the recommended radio, it's in an archive named Radio_11.65.3504.00U_11.19.3504.29_2.rar . It contains instruction, adb files, and a file named radio.img . So do I just create an archive named PG58IMG.ZIP, containing only the radio.img file, or there is something else?
And the other thing is that it will be best if I can unlock the bootloader again, because I just found out that I'm not able to flash new splash screen too. I guess that there will be many more things that wont work.

The bootloader will ignore the extraneous stuff so you could just rename as PG58IMG.RAR and that should work.
Also, even though your Bootloader screen says *** LOCKED ***, as long as you have S-OFF, all you have lost is some of the fastboot commands.
Job done

I just tried what you said, but I got a message saying: "No image or wrong image found", or something similar to that.
Other ways to flash the radio?
Get your desired radio image from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178143, it's already in the appropriate zip file.

I suppose you flashed the 3.12 firmware. That firmware has the 11.65 radio included

Well, not really. At least not in my case. My radio version is 11.21....(that's what it shows in the bootloader menu). So I need to find a way to flash the radio. I hope that this could prolong my battery life, because right now with light/medium use, I'm able to use the phone for about 8-10 hours, before the battery is dead, which I find absolutely unsatisfactory.
So if anybody knows how I can unlock the hboot 1.23, or flash the radio I need, that would be awesome )
OK if this is the wrong place to look for help, please someone let me know...
I was trying to upgrade from Energy GB sense 3.5 ROM to the new Energy ICS .
While following these steps:
1. Download the Firmware from 3.24.401.1 & 3.25.401.101 RUU from here. As per the post by viperd, you may not be able to revert back to GB if you flash FW 3.24.
2. Download the Energy ROM (when available).
3. Do a Nandroid backup of your current ROM.
4. Place Superwipe, ROM and the PG58 file on the SD Card. The PG58 file needs to be on the root folder of the SD card.
5. Boot into bootoloader and let it update, it will turn the screen off in between, dont worry, its updating.
NOTE: When the screen turns off during the firmware update that it is not finished updating yet. The screen will come back on and continue updating, so first wait for the message that the update was completed. Also check in bootloader that the hboot and radio were both updated. A few problems were the hboot is updated but not the radio and this will then cause a bootloop when flashing the rom. Hboot should read 1.27.1100 and radio 11.21.3504.13_2.
I got stuck...The screen said Invalid CID
Now all I can do is get into recovery or the white screen that shows fastboot, recovery, factory reset etc.
I tried to flash other custom ROMS, other PG58 files, but nothing is working.
I have also tried to flash my backup to no avail.
I don't know if i achieved SuperCID but if I did at one point, I no longer have it. So i don't know my CID or Md5

Its not really ROM specific though , is it...
well, you could try to download an official RUU for your phone (try the closest to the one the phone shipped with) and see if that works (I had a similar problem but with firmware... nothing worked so I had to run the RUU and it helped) BUT hefore you do that try to get super CID and flash a custom rom, I think it should help too.. dont flame me if I'm wrong, I'm just trying to help :c
AFAIK your firmware has been updated. You can try flashing the radio separately.
Just flash the latest build from Mike. Or go into bootloader and the fastboot, connect usb cable and flash ruu.
he said he tried other roms, if I were him I'd go for RUU.
I was pretty sure that I needed to SuperCID, but didn`t know that I could force adb to see my phone and run the commands. That fixed it , flashed the updated package and ENergys rom. Thanks for the help and your time all.
hi guys,
I'm completely new to all this android stuff, so please point me to the right direction since i have problems with my HTC Sensation.
1. I have HTC Sensation 4G from T-Mobile US (used with Beeline Armenia SIM card in Armenia) which had Android default version for that model - 2.3
2. I updated it with Software Update from the phone menu to version 4.0.3. and after that my wi-fi refuses to work.
I've searched numerous posts on this forum on how to fix this issue and found solution named Elegancia by Steve007 with some custom rom and other stuff.
Can you please help me with sorting this issue, i'd appreciate anything that can help me to resurrect wi-fi on my phone.
Thanks in advance

From what I read in your post you downloaded a official 4.0.3 update via OTA to your device and then let it flash via the device. Now your WiFi does not work.
Also from your post I see you are HTC Dev unlocked. This tells me you need to flash the correct boot.img via fast boot because Wifi not working is a common problem for devices that a HTC Dev unlocked after flashing. What is weird though is that is a official update package and it should have flashed the boot.img.
Please post if you have the stock recovery or a custom recovery like Clockwork Mod Recovery or 4EXT Recovery.
Look on your SD card in your Download folder and see if the update file is still there, and if so post the name of the file.
Also have you tried to flash any other ROM to your device besides the update?
Hi,
Yes I'm in HTCdev Unlocked mode.
I have no idea why the official update package hasn't flashed the boot.img file.
I looked into the Downloads folder on SD card and found nothing there.
I think i don't have any recovery.
I haven't tried other ROM, the only thing i tried was PG58IMG.zip file from HBOOT menu which contained the cid T-MOB010, which my phone originally had, but i think it didn't do anything.
Thank you

The PM58IMG.zip file you flashed what was it suppose to be flashing to your device? Can you upload it to dropbox or something so I can downlosd it and take a look at it. Also I will see if I can not get a boot.img from the official T-Mobile ICS update and upload it so you can try to flash it via fastboot.
