[Q] Capacitive Button brightness: Eclair - Froyo difference - Defy Android Development

Hello fellow defy users
I have been observing the difference of the capacitive button backlight of eclair to froyo and have these findings:
1. the capacitive button backlight brightness level is linked to the light sensor/brightness settings in Eclair
2. the capacitive button backlight brightness is not linked anymore to the light sensor, and have a fixed brightness
Is there a way to incorporate the old settings of eclair to froyo?
For me it seems the capacitive button brightness is below the middle point of brightness

screen backlight

hello
If is it a way to control screen backlight automatically?
the keyboard backlight can be controled by the light sensor, how about the screen backlight? 2-step adjustment is enough. If keypad backlight is on then screen backlight is dim, If keypad backlight if off then screen backlight is bright.

KickDroidXL v5.2.0: How to control buttons brightness?

KickDroidXL v5.2.0 ROM has 3 options for buttons brightness in its Aroma installer:
Full Brightness
Dimmed Brightness
Backlight Off
I've checked all and after installation of the ROM the default is Backlight Off. And I can't find a setting that changes it.
Can anybody point me to how to control buttons backlight on this ROM?

Possible to dim the touch key lights on the front?

You can use the Galaxy Button Lights app to turn off the touch key lights but is it possible to simply control the brightness of them?
They're rather bright when you're in bed in the dark.
Has anyone figured out a way to dim the capacitive buttons? Are the LED's used by Samsung even dimmable?

Capacitive button illumination

It seems my capacitive buttons are not lit to the brightness I would like. They are too dim. Has anybody found a way to change the brightness of the buttons?
Edit: The more I use this I pretty much know where the button are, but still would like to be able to make them brighter during the day.
